I would think that grinding the heads off with a Dremel tool and using new bolts would be the best way to go. If there is a better alternative I'm sure one of the Pro's here will post such. Good luck with the job!

An early morning round up (4AM) of 3 cows and 4 horses....and it was NOT fun getting them all rounded up and back into the pasture. I am firmly convinced that there is no animal on this earth more stupid than a Holstein cow...........The 200,000 volt electric fence goes up this weekend.

Looks like we're "Venturing" to the "dark side"...
BoomerCPO replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Yep....Nothing but Lemon Pledge! Spray a little onna clean rag and wipe off/buff with a separate clean rag. I use worn out cotton T-shirts because they leave NO lint behind. This stuff makes everything sparkle plus the windshield sheds water like a duck too......... -

Hey that bike is an exact replica of mine! Enjoy....you'll find out that BLACK is the FASTEST color!.................... ps: I use only Lemon Pledge on everything and the scoot always looks like she just rolled off the Showroom floor. -
I have no idea what the mpg is on my Venture. Don't give a hoot as long as the bike continues to run great. Too busy enjoying the ride to figure out that minor detail...................Better to waste time scouting new ice cream stops!

Lucky you....It could have gone a different way....The Boss could have pulled a gun and capped you in the kneecap....and handed you a Pink Slip as the EMT's wheeled you out on a gurney.......

If I lived anywhere near St. Louis I'd be all over that one like green on grass!!!

New motorcycle passenger bill introduced in Ontario ...

Looks to me like you riders up there need to get organized and have a Political Action Committee to look after your interests and rights. -
New motorcycle passenger bill introduced in Ontario ...
BoomerCPO replied to a topic in Watering Hole
20+ years ago a bunch of do-gooder politicians decided that bikers here needed protection and they proposed a mandatory helmet law. 200,000+ bikers showed up at the State Capitol to protest the proposed law. When the politicians saw that the bikers were going to be there for the entire day and possibly storm the Legislature to kick some a$$ the law went into the garbage can pronto. Interestingly it was an outlaw biker named Donald(Pappy) Pitsley who organized the effort.....and every year a Memorial Run to honor him is conducted. "Let those who ride decide"!!! The bottom line: Politicians can and will control your life to the extent that we (the people) allow them to. Give em an inch and they will take a mile every time...... -

Do you folks up there have that many motorcycle related child injuries/deaths to warrant such Legislation? Everyone I have seen here rides extra cautious when they have a child riding with them on a bike. -
Sidestand/neutral safety switch
BoomerCPO replied to rcbufalino's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The sidestand switch is either gunked up or faulty. If you look at where the switch is located you will see that it is very easy to collect road gunk. A good cleaning with WD-40 or Carb Cleaner should do the trick for you. Doing this cleaning every 2-3 months should prevent this problem from happening at all. -
LOL! We generally sit down about 7PM for dinner....any Venture rider shows up at that time will get fed proper!

I'm praying for 2-3 weeks of Indian summer in November so I can keep riding. Has anyone tried using a Venture with a snowplow on the front?
-
We'll nail at least 2 deer in late November and turn both of em into venison sausage. Add that to the fresh eggs and homemade biscuits and ya got enough fuel in ya to get a lot done during the day. This weekend we will nail at least a dozen Canadian geese who have flown in and are stuffing themselves on chopped corn and rye seed in our corn fields.

Have you looked into "Container gardening" ?? You would be surprised what you can grow in 5 gallon buckets onna porch........

SNOW is one 4 letter word that I really dislike.........

LOL! With 2 teenage boys I better schedule one within the next few weeks. Never seen boys chomp down so much food as fast as my boys do.........

My wife's Mom taught she and her 2 sisters how to can when they were very young.....and my wife really enjoys it still. Now both my boys know how to do it as well. We have over 190 acres available to us here so having room to raise animals and veggies is no problem. I don't see how folks can enjoy Supermarket beef and veggies. After eating this home grown for all of 20+ years bout the only thing I enjoy from the Supermarket is the terlet paper...........

Today the wife and sons packed 1 Belted Galloway beefer and 2 pigs into our 2 meat Freezers. We raised these animals ourselves and had em done for the Freezer this week. Now all of our Freezers (4 total) are packed with good meat and our own garden veggies. The dry Larder is full of great stuff the wife canned this season as well. It's gonna be a battle keeping the weight off once I put the bike up for the Winter..........

I got tired of trying to read the side of the oil bottles to measure out 1/2 quart when I change out the oil on my Venture. Went to the Dollar Store and bought a plastic measuring cup that reads ounces. Pour in 8 ounces of fresh oil into the cup and then add the remaining 3 full quarts right into the crankcase that will total 3 and 1/2 quarts. Hope this makes it easier for some of you on your oil changes.

I had a similar situation as you late last year up in northern Vermont. I slowed way down in the passing lane behind a State Trooper. Turns out he had slowed way down because there was a moose coming out of the woods and getting ready to cross the highway! We both ended up coming to a complete stop as that moose casually made his way across the highway.....and that sucker didn't even thank us for giving him the right of way!!

I would not say that the Bear is not swift. I would say he was in a very generous mood and let you off easy because you are an out of country visitor. He could have nailed you with a speeding ticket and claimed he was using Radar and you would not have much of a leg to stand on in a Court here. Consider yourself lucky and be grateful that the LEO was honest! Also....In many of our States it is illegal to pass on the right and that alone may carry a hefty Fine.
