I tried to get the codes for my RSV and was told that the codes are internal to Yamaha and would not help you find the colors. So I went to Finish Masters in my town ,they used a computer to match the colors. Which worked out great for me . I painted my trailer to match the bike.

Peggy and I are on a mini vacation, We left home Friday and went to the North Ga. M+E. From there we rode over to Acworth,Ga. then Sunday morning we rode up to Townsend Tn. When we checked into the hotel I disconnected our trailer, to roll it into the room. It's a small Tag-Along trailer. Anyway as I was rolling it in I was hearing a chirping sound. I took off the wheel and hub and found the inner bearing was worn. So we started looking for a place to get new parts. Sunday night the streets are rolled up nothing open. Panic set in then I started looking at the VR assistance section and found Jim Garner from Maryville,Tn. (He owns a NAPA Auto store) I called him Sunday night and explained my problem. He said to get the hub to him Monday morning. Well let me tell you Jim changed the two bearings greased the new ones installed a new seal. All in about an hour. What a great bunch of people we have here on this forum... If you're ever in the Maryville, Tn. area and need something from an auto partsstore. Stop in and get it from Jim. He went out of his way to help me Thanks Jim:thumbsup2:

Whats in your tool bag?
Sling replied to Sandbagger's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I usually carry 2 small pouches in the saddle bag an assortment of wrenches ,emergancy tireplug kit (hopefully just to get me to a new tire!!) Screw drivers , tie wraps, adjustable wrench, carb sycn. assortment of sockets. Sounds like a lot but it is pretty compact. When we pull the trailer I made a shadow board for the tools that is under a false floor. (I have a Tag-along trailer) If I need more then this assortment of tools I have Roadside service!! See pictures below -
donation on the way-----Just a side note "If you are planning another contest you need to PM me first so I can get a head start and then I just might win":fingers-crossed-emo

Well, we went to it "virtually" but, alas, my Delorme maps are only for the lower 48. Not much I could find except Cape Breton. Probably would be a great ride for us, coming from the south, but just don't have the vacation time available right now. Good luck to those trying to make it there in reality. This is a great idea!!

My granddaughter likes to sit on the bike.. I never thought of putting her to work. I'll give her a rag and we'll see how it progresses.

I have the oem bags from yamaha they are a little expensive but they work great. I also have the trunk bag. They all make packing and unpacking easy. There is someone on the forum here that makes them ,sorry I don't remember who. I did see his bags and they are good too. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/catalogs/detail/26/203/403/1596/1/0/0/1/4/90/69/57995/saddlebag-liners.aspx

I check my pressures all the time, it's part of the look over when I get ready to ride. I can't see spending a bunch of money on a monitoring system. If anything I'd get the product below supposed to indicate when the air pressure drops over 2 lbs. You might try these, they look inexpensive http://www.autogeek.net/kwtc.html http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/autogeek_2108_52472787

Wow the pictures are neat Looks like a great place to go. But the only way to get Peggy on one of those bridges is to tie her up and blindfold her... Hey wait that gives me an Idea! Thanks for sharing.

Turning off digital tach

This is what Dingy sent out glad I saved it hope it helps Rick Originally Posted by dingy The supplier emailed me with the way to turn off the tach. He contacted the manufacturer to get this. It is somewhat lengthy, but here it is. Press and hold down S1 button, will show 01-05 (do not release S1 at this time), when display 05, release S1. After 8-10 seconds(at this time, the meter will flash), the meter will return to total hours, will display 0.0 hours (the meter will not flash). Then press and hold down S1 and S2 buttons, the meter will display 01-09 (don't release S1 and S2 buttons), after showing 00000, release S1 and S2 buttons, the meter will show 00000 to 99999, then return to 0.0. Now the meter is reset, after 5 seconds or so, the meter will become blank display, 0.0 will disappear. -
I'd go with this Sears box Reason the draws have rollers and you say you have a chest you could put it on top of this roll around. Plus it is not too much more expensive the the Sam's box http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959631000P?

Welcome to the site..I have an RSV 2008 I think the tank is a little different, but I walked out to the garage and with my cap installed properly I put in the key and tryed to rotate it "NO CAN DO" the side with the arrow has a square tit so to speak see blurry picture below. It sits in a notch cutout in the tank so it can't be rotated. Who ever did it really had to push it in. But being that it is already twisted it might be possible to rotate it around. I hope you I hope you are successful!

Carb-Sync -Clarification
Sling replied to 2Flights's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Reference: Article on Synchronizing the Carburetors. (RS Venture and 2006 – Royal Star Tour Deluxe) In this article (page 5) of the text under the lower picture you write, you’ll want to adjust 1 and 2 on the left side and 3 and 4 on the right side of the bike (again when sitting on the seat). These adjustments are made with a #2 Phillips screwdriver from the right side of the bike. My comment…aren’t the adjustment to carb’s 1 and 2 made from the right side of the bike looking through the V of the engine to the left bank of carburetors. Isn’t the same adjustment to carb’s 3 and 4 made in a similar way from the left side of the bike (not right side) looking through the V of the engine to the right bank of carburetors using the long #2 Phillips screwdriver? No, 3 and 4 are also adjusted from the right side In the picture (top – page 7) where the text indicates [Here is the screw for synching both sides together]. It is accessed from the left side, just above the choke knob. This is a hex head screw with a slot for a screwdriver. Yes adjusting both sides together is done fron the left side On my 06 RSTD this screw is located on the right side of the bike or am I confused on the location of these adjustment screws and their physical location. I think you are confused the hex head screw on the right side located towards the rear of the gas tank is for adjusting the idle speed Hope this helps.- 5 replies

First I've never split the calipers so I don't know what the Oring looks like,is it square because it has been in place so long, or is it made that way. I know from working in the aviation field. that if you use an O-ring in an oblong hole it will take the shape of the grove it is in. If you can find an O-ring to fit and take some grease and coat it you should be able to put the two halves together before the O-ring moves out of place. Hope this helps.

I've got approx.11500 miles on myE3's Most of it is 2up riding. We ride more twisties then flat (straight line) riding. I'm not a little guy about 270lbs.. I keep my air pressure--rear 41psi and front at 38psi. I check the tire tread depth every now and then, On the rear I still have around 4mm of tread left. The front tire has around 3mm... I also seem to get my best gas milage with these pressures. I don't know what pressure you ride with, but you might try experimenting with different pressures Hope this helps you a bit.
