  1. Thanks... That shows you how challenged I really am....
  2. Thanks for the feedback Puc. You da man.... I did find that earlier Soft tail CVO's had a springer front fork and this one doesn't. I wonder if it's a parts custom?? I couldn't find anything that looked exactly like it, and pics are all I have to go on cuzz' I'm Harley challenged....
  3. I guess it's correct, but snug is about 10ftlbs, and I just snug'm.......
  4. There's a couple of things I use to check things out. Speed check will let you know how healthy your connection is, and House Call will clean out any crap in your system. House Call isn't one of those scams that tell you they found a ka-jillion virus's and want you to buy there program to remove them. House call will get rid of the garbage.. no charge. http://www.speedtest.net/ http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/
  5. All that's been available so far are the two pics. Last year they had a big advertising campaign, but this year it's just the pics so far. Also last year they had a bunch of cars consigned, this year very few... Hey, the less awareness the smaller audience... Hope they get on the stick and start putting together a catalog... The auction is scheduled for this coming Friday!! Well I did a little poking around and came up with more info. Here's a link to the auction. http://musclecarmadnessauction.com/ I don't know why they don't promote it better on their home page?? One of my biggest complaints about the place. Enjoy the spread of vehicles. It's interesting... :-)
  6. Thanks Bill. That helps. All I could come up with is... it's a non-bagger??? :-)
  7. Heck if I know, I'm not a Harley guy. Thought someone here could ID it... They all look the same to me..... Ya think?? Was hoping a Harley Guru here could enlighten me....
  8. I think it's homeland security watching you......
  9. This will be coming up for auction next Friday. Is it worth anything???
  10. I think it all depends on the cost of dirt in the area. This new one in Rocklin Ca is in the middle of big buck city.... The price tag on it musta been huge.... on the camp ground...
  11. Cabalas are nice, but you ain't seen nothing until you visit one of the BP super stores....
  12. So Bass Pro opened up a new store in Rocklin Ca. It been under construction for the better part of a year. It opened about 2 weeks ago, and my son and I decided to go check it out. I've seen pics of other stores, but was amazed when I saw it in real time. It was like a sporting goods Disney Land. I expected to see Mickey and Minney to pop out from behind a counter anytime. Bass boats everywhere. A three level pond with cascading water falls. No fish, but I bet that's coming. We just went to look, but ended up dropping a 'C' note before we could escape. Me? A hat and a bag of cinnamon gummy bears. The boy? A pair of new waders and some bait. BTW we went on a Wednesday morning and the parking lot was slammed. Going back with the camera.... soon.. :-)
  13. Out here in Ca. that would go over like a lead balloon. All that unburned fuel coming out the exhaust would get reported to the CARB board in a nanosecond. Nice engineering project, but he might have rebuilt the motor before stuffing it in the bike. Black exhaust smoke means low compression. Not good on a diesel...
  14. Yep, they make different spring set ups. When converting a MII 1stGen from a disc to a coil spring the pressure plate was purple. I've never messed with one for the 2ndGen, but it may very well be blue... Or.... they got a deal on blue anodizing.. :-) Which brings up another thought. Would an early '83-'85 clutch basket assembly interchange with a newer Mark two disc type clutch basket. If it did, it would be a heck of a lot cheaper picking up a complete MI clutch basket off eBay and swap 'm out. OK they would need tweeking. New springs, discs, etc, but it would be solid....
  15. I don't speak metric when it comes to e-clips, but maybe they are here.... http://www.mcmaster.com/#e-clips/=yynvaj
  16. On the set I have the wire is mangled. I don't know what was in there originally, but I bet one of those small keepers used to retain the rods in the calipers would work very well. What does your wire look like??
  17. Yes... Just looked at a spare set of '83 carbs from the stash and there's a small c clip that fits the ends. I'd take the rod down to your ACE Hardware and find a couple that fit. Looks to be about 1/8".... I gotta add that on this set it looks like someone had drilled a small hole in the right side end and ran a keeper wire thru it. The groove is there, but McGuivered.... It's really hard to get a good look at the ends....
  18. I think I have a Sears, but don't know for sure. One thing I do know is the thing's a monster and gets heavier every year. My suggestion is to shop around for an aluminum. That high priced one at HB is an aluminum. That's why it's higher priced.
  19. How about something like this... 1200cc's and 575#. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/models/super-tenere
  20. On my '99RSV, the dealer installed a po/po button next to the 12vdc plug on the fairing. I wished that they had used a toggle. I find it a PITA trying to figure out if the running lights are on or off while moving. Someday I may install one....
  21. On boat Stainless I've always used 0000 steel wool. Works for me.... I've tried Nevr-Dull, but have never had much luck with the stuff. The 0000 will work on chrome too.....
  22. Which reminds me.... I've looked a couple of larger trailers in auctions that were designed to haul cars and noticed that in the last 8 feet or so the floor dropped about 6 inches. Didn't know why?? Now I do. To reduce the entry angle. Sometimes the light bulb takes a little longer to go on when getting more mature....
  23. LOL
