  1. I hear it calling your name.... Go for it, everyone needs at least two..
  2. Or... how does it launch with that skinny tire. Bet it would be the hit of the show at the Sturgis Burn-Out. OooooWeeee!!
  3. Thanks for the update Ed. Sad story, but I want to let you know your choice of background music in your video caused me to chuckle... How can a person be so creative and still be right handed?? Flaming Grill next week if you have time??
  4. The asking is a bit high for an MM, even with only 11,000 on the odo. The #1 would certainly be an ego booster... I didn't see where it was located in the listing which would also be a consideration.. My gut sez between $5500-$6000.. And if it were close I'd take a run at it... My ego needs help.. I found it. Tulsa OK.... Good Thing..
  5. Shows ya what I know. I thought I read somewhere that was the way the classics came. Anyway... Grreat lookin' Voyagers...
  6. Looks like we have the same model Voyager, and I'm not completely positive, but we have classics. The standard doesn't have the fender guards or the 'tombstone' taillights.
  7. I stand corrected.... It's been a long time since I threw a leg over a 1stGen. And it will also teach me to look at things right side up.....
  8. I did read the first post, and I'll reiterate. This thread makes a great case for Speed-Bleeders. After going through all those instructions and theories, and you still want to rub two sticks together to make a fire...because a match isn't necessary... more power to ya'.... Hope you have a great 4th!!
  9. I don't know. Never really thought about it..... The shift, like all of them is stationary it's just the peg that moves fore and aft....
  10. That's a nice looking T handle. I have the reverse problem on my Legend trailer. Lost the key and it's locked. Going to have to drill out the tumbler. Luckily mine is pretty generic and has the two screws.... and there's an O'Reileys close by.
  11. Ahhh! Thanks for that RR. It's all becoming clear now. I gotta take my hat off to you. Your the man. Hope all things go well this time around....
  12. I believe that's a Tow Pak kit. They really do look like training wheels.
  13. I don't think laziness has any thing to do with it. For most folks the factory setting is fine, but there are extreme cases..count me in..where it's a big help. And.... a lot of MKI owners don't even know they adjust....
  14. Or... you could just google it using craigslist.org: voyager kit You'll get every kit listed on Craigs. You might also try craigslist.org: voyager trike
  15. One thing you have to be careful about is they come in different sizes. A , B, C, or D. Here's a link to the page that will let you know what's what.... http://www.mtcvoyager.com/kits-available/ So even if you find one for sale, it has to be the right size, and most for sale came off a Harley.. Both the 1st and 2ndGen take the 'B' kit. I'd call Voyager tech to make sure the mounting kits are the same...
  16. The MKI foot pegs are adjustable front to rear by about 3 inches. They will bolt right up to a MKII.
  17. I looked all over the place and couldn't find anything relating to what the Butt is all about. Sort of a cover page. Is it still a 1000 mile rally, but longer to complete?? Looks like it might be fun but for me info is really lacking... I see a couple of green flags on Spotwalla. RR is that you??
  18. Can't offer much help in the compatibility dept Dan... Price wise I would think it's a matter of luck to get a screamin' deal on a kit. You see lots of them where folks are asking around $2000 grand for one, but the snag is it didn't come off a Venture so the mounting kit is different, and they run right at $700 from Voyager. I lucked out. Picked up a 2006 Voyager WITH a 2ndGen kit for $1200 bucks. I'm the 3rd owner. The party I bought from had to buy a new kit for his Kawasaki Voyager. So the original kit from the first owner just sat and looked new. It was listed on Craigslist locally, and the guy originally had it listed for 2 grand with both mounting kits. I was figuring on making him an offer of 1500 since I was the only O.F. within 500 miles that would possibly be interested, and had the bike that it fit... He countered with just the one kit for the RSV at $1500...I offered $1200 and he turned it down. So he kept listing the Voyager over the next 2 months. I finally emailed him and said I still had that $1200. He responded with 'Come get it'. It's really hard to beat dumb ass luck....
  19. I'm right there with ya Puc. I've never had a bit of discomfort riding a 1stGen on a long trip. Not so with my 2nds....
  20. If you would have done a search for threads covering the R1 mod, the subject has been discussed Ad Nauseum on what is needed to do the conversion on a 1stGen MKI. But again... basically you'll need MKII forks, and MKII rotors to get the R1's to adapt. They aren't a plug'n'play with the MKI like they are on the MKII and 2ndGen's.....
  21. Had the same problem once Puc. Battery checked out fine but kept going dead over night. Found it had a internal cell short that only appeared under heavy load...
  22. I think this whole thread makes a great case for Speed Bleeders.....
  23. One last thing to check. Since the housing isn't grounded there's a brown wire running over to the frame. They will corrode. Clean it up and see what happens.... Don't forget the frame too...
  24. OK I agree with that too... I'll agree to anything.. Heck...watta I know??
