Daves right... 10 meters or 33' 127mhz if memory serves me correctly. The Fire Sticks used to have a tuna-able tip, but I haven't seen that type in a while now. 'Course I haven't been looking either... I think they are wrapped with the proper length antena wire and figure close is good enough. I wish they made a small auto-tuner like those used on a sailboat.. They'll tune a coat hanger to the right length. Anyway since the Fire Sticks are close that may be all you need to keep in touch with in a group. Unless you want to shoot skip. Then @GeorgeS can help a bunch.

That was my thinking, and you don't have to paint the entire mirror, just the portion that sez Harley.... I think it would look cool... Maybe use the same stuff you painted the wind deflectors with?? The only problem I can see is how well the chrome surface will adhere to the Bondo and paint??
-
I tried that, and when I went to see what I got it was black, not blank, but black. The info boxes were there, but nothing else. Thanks for posting the pic in the following... Got it!! Maybe it has something to do with Chrome??

My Spin?? WE are all getting old. It's been 40+ years since the first Venture hit the deck and we were in our 30's and 40's. It appealed to us because at that time we were entering that transition stage of our lives when we were somewhere between a crotch rocket and looking for something cool and comfortable. WE also had a streak of rebel in us and wanted something that wasn't run of the mill. Ergo, we were smitten by the Venture. Fast forward 30-40 years, and the Venture no longer has the appeal that it once had, plus it's been discontinued. Those younger riders in their 30's and 40's, who would fill the ranks, are looking for something elsewhere. The general VR population is slowing down through old age and attrition, and those of us hard line staunch faithfuls are still talking the talk, but are finding it harder to walk the walk. Most us us are retired, and have the time to attend gatherings, so time isn't an issue. Most of us have extra spendable income, so affordability isn't an issue. Desire, or lack of it, is. Personally I remember when planning a ride was exciting, and something to look forward to, but as the years started piling up, long rides are no longer fun. Several a year dropped to one, and then they were no longer enjoyable. I think we all try to extend our Venture riding, via trailering to and from a gathering or triking the scoot, but at some point in time even these will not be enough. The one thing we can all hang onto are our memories and experiences, and sharing them here at VR.Org....

Shifting problems?

99.9% of the time the clutch bleed was not done properly and you have air in the lines. Bleeding the clutch on a Venture is a PITA. Specially for someone who's never done it before. I my case reverse bleeding is the only way I can get it done, and a Speed-Bleeder to keep it that way. The DOT should be changed every two years, and with the Speed yearly is a piece of cake..... PM on it's way... -
WE do get around.... I saw the google truck go down the street and we made it too. Seven of Nine Under the cover is the Voyager '04 RSV Trike, and I just noticed I'm wearing the same 'T' as I type this. Kinda cool...!!

I tried that a couple of years ago, but they turned out pretty ugly. I guess I don't have the Touch..... -

Look - there was a quad 4 1500cc fuel injected RSV after all - who knew?

Prices in the middle of the text don't count. Only at the end. It's $3800 for everything..... -
Yeah Dan you're tough.... But you're too young and ain't experienced... yet...

It's not so much treating the windshield Rob, as cleaning it. Lemon Pledge may be a furniture polish but it makes a dandy bug remover and cleaner when used with a micro-fiber towel. I carry a can in the saddle bag, and at the end of the day the shield looks brand new.

Even if the guy doesn't know what he's talking about $3800Cda is a steal with that milage.... Carefull.. Wanting your email could be a fishing scheme...?? -
I just tripped over 75 in May and started cogitating. Anyone 75 or older, and still riding occasionally?? Hope I'm not the oldest....:backinmyday::backinmyday:

LOL gotta love that bug Au Jus... I've found that if you use PAM on the fairing and lowers before hand, the stuff rinses right off. You don't want to use it on the windshield.. Don't ask me how I know that... Still lemon pledge on the shield..

Great looking bike. Now go put some bug splat on it.... :-)
-
Yep, you're right.... if the kit isn't set up properly. When tuned in they ride very well. As far as the wheel coming off the ground when cornering, that's what they are supposed to do. Here's a video of their website demoing how to ride and what to expect.

Look what I found on Craigslist -86 V-Max with a supercharger on it?
Condor replied to VanRiver's topic in Watering Hole
The bikes listed on the Flagstaff AZ Craigslist, and the license plate is from Connecticut.... Someone in AZ needs to go look at it. Strange it's on CL. If it were mine it would be consigned to Barrett-Jackson in Scotsdale.... That's were the money is.. -
I ran across a feedback for the dealer, they were about 50/50 on yea or nay opinions. One thought did cross my mind about the history of the bike. Didn't the MM's have a special VIN number, or did they keep in step with the general population?? My thinking is if they did have a special VIN, it should start with #00001 or something like that... Anyone here have an MM, and their VIN sorta matched the #of 1500?? On the turn over. Maybe it's a real whiner??
-
I don't think that's all that necessary. When you start to lift the jack contacts the tube closest to the floor and as you start to lift the bike it will start to center. You're right it would slide off if it lifted on both sides at the same time. Not the case here....

I can relate to that.....
