  1. I can see it now.... First the T-Top, then power assist roll up windows, A/C, High end audio package, Heated seats...etc.. Price?? $45K plus tax and registration. :whistling:
  2. It's been 105+ for the last three days here in NorCal, two of them over 107. And I think we've been over one hundred for the last week. However that said, the humidity is only 38%. My deepest simpathy to those members in that 90%+ humidity.... Also I'm not biting on the global warming issue. We've had temps up to 116 in the past... I have a bud who lives east of Tucson AZ and his temps are lower than here... 99 degrees. Hmmm I wonder if it's a cold snap??? :-)
  3. Good to know Larry.
  4. I know what you mean, and you're absolutely right. Lemme tell you about my 8x16 Wells Cargo enclosed tandem with leaf springs. You need a damn step ladder to get in the side door, and loading when it's level you're gonna drag.... but I can't remember ever seeing a gated 5x10 that doesn't have at least a 5' gate, and that gives plenty of angle to clear the hinge with a bike that has a 8' wheel base. My trailer has leaf springs and it would be even less of an angle if it were made with a torsion axle. When loading I just ride it on and into the chock.... Unloading is a little tricky. Since the weight shifts to the back wheel, and you need both feet on the ground to balance, you'll slide about 5 feet when the front wheel hits the gate because traction is gone. So... the bike needs to be running and in first gear. Feather the clutch lever as the brake. Keeps everything under controll and you will avoid those OMG moments. Sorry for this... I wander a lot when typing...
  5. Depends on the market. A family dirtbiker might pony up $1000 - $1200 for it. You couldn't get me to put a Venture on it. 1st or 2ndGen.... Most of this type of a trailer are built for shorter bikes, and are basically useless to be used for anything else... The greatest set up ever, is a 5x10 landscape trailer with the side walls and ramp gate and a Harbor Freight ride on chock... It'll do double duty taking the trash to the dump, triple duty loaning it to the kids so they can move, or 4th.... taking the rafts to the river so they can keep cool..... Probably a few more I haven't thought of. Oh yeah... make it a 6x10 if you have a trike.... Ka-ching 2¢
  6. Interesting pics. I'm wondering if you could have put more preload on and accomplished the same thing???
  7. $2.50 here in NorCal....
  8. Dang!! Wish Ida known... Ida been a huckleberry for a couple of them at that price.
  9. Good Luck Steve....
  10. I put a Voyager Kit on one of my bikes and glad I did. Two reasons. Age and depth of my pocket book. Can't do a damn thing about the first, but I shopped for 2-3 years before finding the right deal. On the matter of tires. The kit tires hardly ever wear out, but the center MC does due to scrubbing in slow turns. That's why the kit is designed to lift the inside kit tire off the ground. It eliminates wear and tear on the center tire. In a slow turn there's nothing you can do about it, but one possibility would be going to the Dark Side when the need arises. I also agree with Al in that realistically you will never take the Voyager off... My 2¢
  11. You keep the side stand.... Rivco still makes them... for now.... if memory serves me they are pushing $400 with shipping added. That one on eBay and a little 0000 steel wool would be a deal....
  12. No, I've never used the security key. I've just never really felt the need. I have a hard enough time remembering all the different passwords I've generated over the years.... I don't keep them in a file, but write them down on leftover note pad cardboard backing...both sides.. :-) I just started my third board.... That's my security method, and so far ..knock on wood... it's worked...
  13. So just for the 'H' of it, I went and logged into Paypal using my current ID and password. It was business as usual..... Now I do have a biz account that I've been using since you could go to Paypal by using X.com, and more years ago than I want to admit. Back when Paypal was a separate entity, before eBay bought them, and then spun them off again. So that may have something to do with it???
  14. You're not an oddball Chuck, just to young to feel it yet... Back in 2011 I did a Round trip to Cody for the international. Probably 3000 miles in a week. Knew I was having problems, and got off the bike, and had colon surgery in Oct. The surgery was a success, but I started feeling 'old'. After every summer ride for the last 3-4 years leading up to the Cody, I kept saying this one will be my last Hurrah.... Since Cody I've done two VW's to The Dalles OR, and Yreka last summer. The Yreka was an SOB, and put the nail in my riding habits. Father time just has a way of sneaking up on you and slapping you along side the head....
  15. Hmmm... I wonder if you need to reserve a spot???
  16. Lemme get this straight. You're saying this 'Garage Sale' is 690 miles long??? Holy Frijoles Bat Man!!! Now we have one out here in Quartzsite AZ that goes on all winter long. Generally populated by miles of Canadian snowbirds in trailers and motorhomes, and they all have their schtick. Lots of crafts stuff.
  17. That's kinda what I like about the program. They don't try to hide the fact that they're filming. Like when they were recognized when wandering thru a crowd and Reedus sez... I think it's the cameras... I would have recognized Fonda, but I don't watch anything Zombie and wouldn't know Reedus from Adam... I like the show a lot. For me it beats the 'H' out of the Teuttle show...

  20. Norman Reedus?? I ran into this cable series on AMCPHD. Kinda of a layed back approach to touring on bikes with 'caracters'. Just finished with Peter Fonda and Key West Fl. Maybe it's just me, but I like it. BTW I'd never heard of Reedus. He stars on some Zombie series that I don't watch... :-) The younger crowd sure knew who he was.... Very intertaining...

    O.F. Club

Yep he's the oldest O.F., but like a lot of the older members he's not very active. Last post in 2014 and the last visit back in February. I think he likes his motorhome for doing any long distance traveling... :-) He is my hero and hope I'm in the saddle as long, but for many active members they don't know who @Fvogt is, and the contributions he made when this board first got off the ground.... Like someone else I know...
