  1. And you're referring to a bike that still has a Cassett Deck?? Really??
  2. Try pushing the 'SET' twice... Sometimes that'll work and it's quicker than the press and hold.....
  3. You're doing good Rick....
  4. That's cool... I may stop by Auto Zone and pick up a gallon or two.... Thanks for the tip...
  5. So I take it you're not going to bid on it??? Or dream just a little??....
  6. Not very far. Just like everything else, have it air lifted in.... Or...since you have money to burn, the heck with the 6 pack, buy the whole Coors truck... Or walk to the neighbors to borrow a few cans... I just did a google and it's not as remote as imagined. SOMERSET CO And after poking around a little more I ran across Rangely Co nearby. Back in the mid '70's I hunted deer out of there in the Douglas Pass area... Small World....
  7. So every once in a while I drop in on the IRS auction site to see what's up.. I just ran into something that IF I were 25 years younger, and IF I had a back pocket full of cash, and IF.. ???... I have never seen anything like this before, but it makes me dream my circumstances were different. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm awestruck!!! And green with envy... TAKE A LOOK.....
  8. Years ago I posted a pic of my garage 'mess'. I'd do it again but can't find the pic... like all the rest of my 'stuff'. However.... it's still full, but now it has 4 enclosed trailers to keep it company, and I can't remember half of what's in them.... I'm not sure who to call... American Pickers, or... Buried Alive??
  9. I wonder if they'd take issue with Canadians of Color??
  10. Just a thought... Are you using one of those accessory power plugs made to connect to a USB cord? You may not be getting enough voltage to the accessory plug?? Your app may reading the mamps but at a low voltage it may not be enough. I'd check the voltage at the accessory plug.
  11. I thought the previous advice was spot on. I ran my '99RSV for three days, a few years ago, on a DEKA agm battery only, and remember this included the headlight burning and sucking amps. It finally died with a 8.9vdc reading. Got to the motel and put a smart charger set on 2 amps on it, and by the next day it was showing full. Turned out to be the rectifyer was bad...., and it's still in the bike....
  12. Bullying and telling someone they should kill themselves are serious issues and need to be reported to the proper authorities. Trying to hide it because of your daughter's feelings aren't going to make it go away. That and the fact these boys are always getting into trouble on a daily basis, reinforces the need to do something. My 19 year old had much the same situation only in was online. Even the kill part. The Principal went into action as soon as I reported it. It never happened again. Since then it has become a misdemeanor here in our school district. Hope you find resolve in this....
  13. I wonder if mod-ing a 2ndGen RSTD tank would save a lot of trouble??
  14. If you've had the two push rods and ball out you might have put them back in wrong. If you look at the rod ends there is a very tiny flat spot on one of the ends. This needs to go against the ball. If one or both round ends are against the ball it will bind in the tube. One side will be directional...both will be fubar... Does the clutch slip right from the git-go or under certain circumstances?? Different conditions will point to different possibilities.... So when does it slip???
  15. I have a couple of them laying around here, and I'd hunt them down and take pics....but I'm too damn lazy.... I haven't seen one for sale in ages....
  16. My parents moved to the L.A. area back when I was about 4. Started kindergarden in So Pasadena, and then moved back to East Amherst. Lived very close to Dodge and French Rds. Finished K and 1st grade in the one room school house, and then came out to LA for good. All this in a Model A... So I'm more or less a naturalized CA native with some great small town memories from around Buffalo. Still have shirt-tail kin in the area. 1st cuz's etc...
  17. Another one that brings a couple of bucks... if you can find one... was made by LePac and fit between the handle bar risers on a 1stGen.
  18. I was in my early 20's during the Watts riots in L.A., and experienced it first hand. It looked like it was never going to end... City blocks were leveled, and the place looked like a war zone. Plus Watts wasn't the only area in L.A. that got a little dicey. I didn't see any damage, but large groups of blacks gathered around Pasadena, and Monrovia. If you were white you had to be very careful where you went. Anyway Reagan finally called up the National Guard. After 2 weeks of rioting a National Guards Man, accidentally or on purpose, shot and killed one of the rioters. The riots stopped in a nano-second. All of a sudden they found that if they continued rioting they could end up dead. It wasn't a game any longer. The military lay their lives on the line every day, I wonder just how many of these rioters today would be willing to die for their cause??
  19. I don't think you'll find a 1985 Chrysler OB... True Mercury took on the tooling and produced the Force OB, and originally they fell into three catagories. Those that were broken, those that were repaired, and those that were about to break. The proformance record for the Force brand was not good. But... we're talking about Chrysler OB's and I'd like to see a 1985...that was built in '85....
  20. I used to have a 10hp Chrysler hanging on the back of my Chrysler 22 sailboat. Ran like a champ, so don't know much about them internally. One thing I did find was that Chrysler bought out Scott Atwater, and continued with the same technology from the 50's and 60's. So the design has been around for a long time. The last OB's were produced in 1984. When Lee Iococa went to congress with hat in hand for a loan one of the stipulations was that Chrysler divest itself from any loosing divisions. Chrysler was one of them. All of the tooling was sold off to other manufactures or scrapped. Due to old designs the OB's were no longer produced... by anyone...
  21. Yep... I have it's grand daddy.... I remember you posting about that one before.... It's really off the grid. Me thinks you're going to have that one for a long time. Curious... How long would it take to squeeze off 3 rounds. 7mm-08 is a nice caliber.. Thought about picking one up when the time was right... It ain't right now... :-)
  22. You're not alone.. I have quite a few friends that are doing the same thing. I just can't get into the modular stuff. To me firearms are an art form... that works when it needs to.... Here's a pic of my 454 casull zombie art form loaded with 360gr FP Penetrators.... :-) Beautiful lever gun..
  23. It actually works very well Bob. I think I made a mistake... imagine that!.... in the decription in that the thick part needs to be half the size of the opening. The thin ply needs to span all the way across. That way three pistons are blocked and only one has the space to let the piston come out... Besides it's fun blasting them out of there... :-)
  24. I just don't understand why the pistons aren't removed one at a time with compressed air?? All it takes is two pieces of ply wood. One the width and half the thickness of the opening between the pads, and the other half the width and one quarter the thickness... Glue them together and by rotating or reversing the set up one piston at a time can be removed by compressed air blown into the banjo bolts hole. Just be careful when using the air. They come out at a speed that would make NASA proud.... As far as cleaning the pistons I use 0000 steel wool to get the junk off and clean the caliper walls. Slip a new seal on the piston and reinstall and move on to the next. Only use DOT 3 or 4 to clean and lube. My 2¢
