  1. Sooo.... Did you try it or are you just naturally negative about everything?? Personally the pain would be hard to bear....
  2. This was sent to me by a friend this morning and thought it was worth passing on. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ba2_1475277076
  3. Yep... That's where I buy mine... I generally pick up a few extra that I can loose before I need one again....
  4. OK here goes Puc... I'm going to give it a shot. The side covers on the first gens are held on by a ball/post that its into a grommet on the frame. The posts break off, but leave a square base, and the top can be drilled out. One of these ball studs can be attached to the base and replace the broken post. The ball stud will slip into the grommet and you're good to go again.... Are you enlightened??
  5. 5'=60" cargo width is wishful thinking.... It's always the outside dimentions that they quote. Then you take away for the posts/stantions on the inside of the wall and the corners.. Kinda like a sleeping bag, or a tarp.. There's a cut size and a finished size...
  6. Black Owl used to buy them in quantity and resell them to the members. 10mmx5/16x1/2" if I remember correctly. As long as the housing is still intact it's just a matter of drilling a 5/16" hole and using a nut to hold it in place. Works great... Fixed a lot of broken covers... https://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/119/1197/=nsfu9t
  7. LOL... Yeah I saw that too. MOF my '04RSMVoyager has a beam of 58" and my 5x10 is 57" wide on the inside....
  8. That's my thinking as well. When and if the rear tire wears out on the '04 Voyager... or disintegrates because of old age... , I'll go dark.
  9. My son is the same way. USMC. With all the meds he's on it's a wonder he doesn't have a weight problem....
  10. Yeah... I often wonder why Common Sense is so Uncommon....
  11. I not sure with all this *****en and moanen about the VA care, and the lack of doing anything about it, why they don't just roll care over into Medicare. Then they can go anywhere for treatment. I pay less than $100 bucks a month for Medicare, and since I live in a big city I have a half dozen care facilities within 20 minutes of the house. I do belong to an HMO that picks up the tab on the 20% that MC doesn't cover. That runs me another $87 bucks a month. With Veterans I don't see why... I'm sure someone will come up with a reason...They don't give the Vet a 100% coverage card and let them go anywhere they want. They'll get better care, quicker care, and the VA budget can be rolled over into the Medicare budget. Plus think of all the money saved buy having one agency instead of two?? My 2¢....
  12. In real life the trade-in value isn't worth squat. It's the difference you need to come up with between your trade and the new bike that counts. If a dealer has the new bike priced where there's no profit margin, don't expect to get a ton out of your trade. Conversely if the price is packed, he can offer you a ton. Simple as that.... That's why it pays to shop around.
  13. Found this on Drudge this morning. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-10-11/bmw-motorrad-vision-next-100
  14. Maybe just removed the eyebrows?? I have the badges off the tank on my '04RSMV. I like the look. Maybe the brows are next to go...
  15. On an '83 there's probably a whole bunch of cr@p in the bottom of your tank. Put the petcock on reserve and see if it still misses...or dies... You'll know whether the tank needs to be cleaned out.....
  16. This one's got me befuddled. Generally when the lever is hard to pull and gets a hydra-lock the clutch will start to slip, not lock up. I'd go ahead and bleed the clutch anyway. Not a big deal.. Just make sure the fluid level is only half the way up the reserve sight glass when finished. On a 2009 I highly doubt there's anything wrong with the slave or master.... These bikes can go a long time... not recomended... with Black ink for fluid and still function OK. PS: I tried to send you some instructions on reverse bleeding the clutch, but you're not set up to receive PM's.....
  17. We're close... but I don't do 'Rambo' guns or milsurp. More of a collector of the interesting and unusual rolled into craftsmanship. My Zombie gun? A 454 casull lever action. Why shoot more than once...?? :-) Waiting for a Gustaf 6.5x55 swiss, sporterized by Kimber when they were located in Oregon. Same Kimber that's now in NY making lots of 1911 45's....

I have an older cousin in Port St Lucie who's hunkering down and riding this one out. Told her to come out to CA and take a vacation, but she's pretty head strong. Kinda like Judge Judy... for those that watch Fox News... :-)
  20. Hmmm?? Best Buy $999.. New gun?? Decisions.. Decisions...??
  21. IMHO there hasn't been an International since Cody in 2011... I'm sure I'm going to ruffle some feathers with that statement... It may have been biased to the west, but it was still central enough to attract quite a few north east members, and it was a bucket list place. Since then... and again IMHO... they have bordered on large meet'n'eat's with a couple of rides and tours tossed in for good measure. Heck, Don's MD Day draws more of a crowd. And one of the reasons for that is it's held at the same location every year. Kinda like Sturgis... :-) So.... I think Freebirds idea of dividing the international into an east..west thing has merit with a VRW and VRE held at the same location every year about the same time with one following the other. As far as putting the bite on someone every year to hold the thing, create an international committee that can handle both... And they don't need to be from the area. Vic and I put Cody together and never set foot in Cody until the day before it started. Lodging, Catering, events were all planned long distance.... and I think if you ask any member who attended they'll say they had a great time... And we didn't loose any money!! It's never been mentioned before, but after all the expenses were paid I wrote a check to the SAF fund for $1900 bucks... So the debate goes on... just some of my thoughts...
  22. Gotta agree.... Put on a pair of Levi's for the first time in months, and the weatherman predicts rain for today and tomorrow... Hard to tell though with all the blue cloud cover....
