B.O.A.T. I guess it's when you hang around with the boating crowd for a while that it gets tossed around. It's a favorite saying in all the West Marine Stores... :-) The other one is a hole in the water that you throw money into...

Nothing beats a 12ft aluminum with a 10hp kicker when things get sloppy. Since I'm only in the thing $600 bucks I'm still working on the first thou..... These Four Winns Sundowner 205 seem to be going for 8-10K on a single axle trailer, So I have a little wiggle room to play... Deep breath... The BOAT acronym has been around for as long as I can remember.... And in many cases very true.... Yep, you got it Bro... I think I'm going to name her the Black Pearl...

I'm not sure why this is even an issue.... Getting all the air out of the front forks to zero they would need to be pumped out to create a vacuum. Atmospheric pressure is 15psi at sea level. Even with aftermarket springs there's nothing wrong with fine tuning the pressure. I left my AD and CLASS as is and my '83 was one the finest riding bikes I've ever owned... and I've owned a lot... Just because there are new springs doesn't mean all riders are equal...

VIN Number Locations?

I believe they still all stamped into the neck of the bike. -
That was great!!! I sometimes wonder if I'd been adopted.. My kinda video.... And I'm the only one in the family that can relate to that kinda stuff... Yep.. Nothing beats a bucket of beer by the pool aboard a cruise ship... before leaving port...

Always sound advice... I've been sailing for over 60 years... Dang that's a long time ... so pretty familiar with all the regs... That's what I kinda figured.... An oar?? Better not tell the Warden... Nice looking boat.... Anytime the sea state starts to get nasty it's better to stay offshore. Waves will start breaking in shallow waters. Glad it cleaned up. Kinda thought that when I looked at the pics... Motorcycle... A place between two wheels that keeps needing TLC....

Bow Riders'll do that to ya. They make for a lot of room, but belong on a small lake. One of the reason's I like cuddy cabins...

You're right where my wife and I were 13 years ago, only I was self employed.. I had to file early retirement just to pay the.. at the time... $975 per month premium to my HMO. It was great when we hit 65 and medicare kicked in. A $1500 swing in our cash flow. See you have something to look forward too.... :-)

I hear you Don, and do undestand. In our case we have a fairly large lake/reservoir with 20 minutes of the house, and launching is not that much of a hassle. I've subletted a slip there in the past for about $100 a month. Probably a bit more today?? I kept the sailboat in a saltwater slip in SF Bay for over 6 years. Spent more on slip fees than I initially did for the boat. This boat is a little more user friendly. With the lake and being surrounded by the Ca Delta we shouldn't have a lack of nearby places to launch. It'll make a great little overnighter, or for chasing stripper and salmon on the Sacramento River... Besides the whole thing ran me $600 bucks!! Boat and trailer. I have room to play... :-)

I'm going to pop for a new 'set' of lounge and jump seats. I can pick up a set from Overton's for around $500 on my door step. They mount easily. I'll round file the old ones. The side bolsters I'll probably recover. Just have to figure out how to get them off?? However, I'm not doing to do anything until we get the engine fired. 500hrs total. Lots of Sea Foam.. 35 gallon tank!! The floor carpet is decent. Just needs to be shampoo'd. Not quite sure if I want to redo the deck with Teak and Holly?? I have 2 4x8 sheets in the stash... BTW here's another pic of the boat. It's a '91 Four Winns 205 Sundowner with a 5.8 Cobra. Has a lot of potential.

Lately I've been getting tired of wrenching on bikes, and buying guns, so I went out and bought this boat.... :-) Watcha think??
-
I've never run into one that's worn out???

Yes , But you get free medical.....

25 g's seems like an awful lot compared to what it would buy elsewhere. My Nisan Titan crew cab with electric everything was bought for half of that. Seats four, AT, A/C, high end audio/XM radio/GPS. Roll all the windows down, open the sun roof, the rear window, and you've got the wind in your hair and plenty of room to move around... Plus it hauls a$$..... My 2¢

Clutch slipping has gotten worse

Plugged expansion hole or overfull reserve.... -
Dang!!!! Great thinking. Make it a one liability part of the policy, and each extra scoot covered individually for damage..?? The barn could burn and roast all of them at once...? Makes sense to me...

Canada to Cancun on the 250$ Venture - The full ride report
Condor replied to jfman's topic in Watering Hole
Heck, I'd just ride it to the airport and park it. Give the keys and $5 to the baggage claim guy and ask him to watch it for you. Tell 'm if your not back in two days, it's his.... :-) -
Some how Kev, that you know that, and have pics as well, doesn't surprise me in the least.... We have two long stretches of beach on the way to visit my oldest in Lompoc CA. One is Pismo, and I think every one has heard of Pismo Clams, but the other is Jalama State Park just south of Lompoc/Vandenberg AFB. Jamala has always intrigued me. From what I can remember the beach is desolate for 20 miles or more. It used to be wide open and you could take a sand buggy all the way down...low tide...., but since becoming a state park they've closed it to motorized vehicles... You might crush a sand crab..doncha know... Anyway I bet one of those wide tired scoots would make a great sand rig... Now all I have to do is figure out how to get buy the state patrol...??

That is a cool looker, but the cracked ribs and the concussion have got me to thinkin'... I'm a few years your senior and don't bend like a used to...
-
Maybe that's what they were used for. Another lot in the auction is a diesel pusher.....
-
They do look similar except for the rear tire on the dirty one. I don't think you'd need a side stand the tires are so wide... They are both coming up for auction in 2 weeks. Maybe the auctioneer will have a better idea... That second one looks like it had been stowed under wrap and in decent condition.. Looks like it could be registered for street use...
-
Ran across these two scoots and wondered if anyone might recognize them?? Especially the one with that huge rear tire. I know they're hunting rigs, but they might be fun to toodle around on...

Not MC, but still looks like fun. My other passion.

I remember that now... When detailers pop a hull out of the mold they sometimes incountered an air bubble that needed to be repaired. After filling the 'pock' with gelcoat they covered the repair with wrappers off cigarette packs. The reason is the gel will only cure when airless.
