My 2¢... They had to have known about the heat issue, and they chose to do nothing about it. All those promo videos, ads, and testimonials, and the test/riders never mention it?? C'mon who are they trying to kid?? They took an existing bike.. Stratoliner.. and put on another suit of plastics, and added a bunch of glitzy electronics that will probably go bad or get outdated in a few short years. Nope..all they did was build a cheap clone of what the rest of the industry is selling. The only problem is Yamaha has never held value, or had the heritage, like a Harley or Indian here in the US. Yamaha's market is in innovation, and they dropped the ball on this one...

10" Bagger Bars on RSV
Condor replied to MongoE9's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
From what I can see they raise the bar geometry and because of the bend at the lip of the dash they keep them a few inches farther forward. It get's the stock grip off your thighs and makes the reach a lot more comfortable... Especially for those that have trouble crowding the tank... And that's why I'm looking at them and if I ever build up enough energy a set will go on the '04 trike. Dennis Kirk has them on sale for $72 bucks. The stock number for the chrome is #300200 Here's a very nice view from Khrome Werks They also make them in black just keep scrolling right. For anyone like me I'm not a big fan of extreme ape's, but at 10" it's hardly noticeable... PS: Finally remembered the black stock number #300850 -

10" Bagger Bars on RSV
Condor replied to MongoE9's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Here's a couple of pics from my stash. Not my bike. These are Khromewerks 10" I used to have all the info, model numbers, etc. But can't seems to find the info any longer. I remember they were available thru Cycle Gear, and came in chrome or black. The nice thing about these is the rise and bend fit the RSV dash perfectly. PS: I just found a set of Drag Specialties that look kinda cool. 1.25" with 1" mounting and 1" grips. http://www.dragspecialties.com/products/?productId=243683 -
I'm glad you found what you were looking for. I did have trouble trying to come up with a name for those bolsters. Notched..Etched..Groved?? 'Crown' is very fitting. I have several knives that were made by/in Solingen.. Always nice quality for a mass produced knife.

I found a few that were made by Soligen in Germany. So thought they were still being made and imported. The few that I did pay attention to had the FR logo on the blade. So maybe someone bought the name and has Soligen making them?? No matter. I'd never heard of the name before, but now I think I'll pick one up and add it to the collection just because... I'm right there with ya Dan. All I can do is 'think' about what I need to do, get overwhelmed, and say the 'H' with it and go take a nap... It's not that I don't have the time... it's the energy..

It'll get a little breezy up in that area. After the Venture International in Fort Collins @GeorgeS and I split off from the main group heading west onto Hwy30 north in Wyoming.. he to return to Seattle and I to visit my daughter in Idaho... and in between I-80 and Kemmerer we rode thru the worst conditions I, or he, had ever experienced. 65 mph cross winds out of the west on a two lane with 18 wheeler's headed the opposite direction. It was the all time E-Ticket ride. Black skies, thundercloud cells, but luckily no rain. The trick was to time the wind being blocked by the oncoming trucks. You'd be leaning into the wind and then it would disappear for a couple of seconds and then hit you again. It was the big dance... By the time we got to Kemmerer we were exhausted... BTW I was on my '83VR and George was riding.. I think..his '93VR. A 2ndGen fork mounted fairing would have made things a lot worse than they already were... My brother lives in Kalispell, and we've never had a problem with things being expensive. There's a Motel 6 and a coffee kiosk on the main drag. The last time there we drove up the Road to the Sun and it was free??

Dang, Wish I had the time Puc. I'll be doing Leatherby's tonight, but no butternut. My youngest turned 19 today and I'm picking her and her friends up from Sun Splash at 5:30pm in Roseville and heading to Leatherby's at Sunrise and Antelope in Citrus Heights. So I'll be slurping down a Marie's Hot Fudge around 6.... Maybe we could get together tomorrow.. Sunday.. at the one in Elk Grove?? I'm always good for a double dipper... Maybe see if Rick {Lone Rider} and family are up for a cone or two?? LMK... 916-402-1481 Condor -
I also have one of those BlackMax 60 gal upright compressors. Even operating in 25-30% humidity I have to drain the tank once a year. On mine there's a valve at the bottom of the tank. Under pressure it only takes a nano-sec to blow the moisture out...

Storing my Bike & trailer for a few weeks ( I'll Pay )
Condor replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
That's B.S. When I had my trailer stolen Geico covered it. It took a while and we did 'negotiate', but in the end it worked out. They also cover the Voyager Kit on the '04 as it's considered a trailer... just a different attachment system. I checked to make sure. I'll check with my Son in Parowan UT and see if he might be able to help with the trailer.... PS: Just talked to my Son and he just doesn't have a place to store the trailer... -
Drained the tank lately??

Lots of ideas here on how to deal with the seat, but from what you posted the problem is having to lift you leg to shift. I'm... or used to be... 6'7" and the first gen was the most comfortable scoot I've ridden on a long trip. The problem is your angle of the foot controls. Pull them off the spline and drop the peg to about the angle of your foot sits when it's on the peg. Both sides. You'll never have to take your foot off the peg to shift or brake... Highway pegs mounted on the engine guards will let you stretch out the legs if needed.

Nice find, but I gotta warn ya. Put two V4's together and they have a tendency to reproduce....

Keep an eye on it Jeff. Ya never know??? I bet there's a place around you where they rent a 24' flat bed. I didn't realize it had the jet. I viewed the pics but never went that far down. Maybe no-one else did either??? It'll be an interesting auction. It way beyond my skill set, but knowing you, you'll get'r done... Betcha Puc would help.... :-) Good luck...
