  1. Well is looks like I'm going to save lots of green... I'd still be in the bidding on the trailer but my pockets ain't so deep lately. It's sitting at $5600.. That's still a great price, but not on my budget...
  2. Sorry.. Can't help you there Bob. I do know that the pressure is controlled by a center post/interrupter rod. As the lines come up to max pressure the diaphragm doesn't compress, rod holds the points apart, and the pumping stops. As the pressure in the lines drops the points close and shazam the coil fires and the diaphragm cycles until the pressure returns to specs. And so on.... Kinda a rinse-lather-repeat operation...
  3. Yep on that one.... Do a search for what your looking for.. sometimes just the model number will work.. and Amazon pricing will usually be the highest. They keep pushing this Prime thing, but when all is said and done the buyer ends up paying for the shipping with the increased cost. I few times I have bought directly from a dealer at a cost savings over Amazon, and the curious thing is it comes in an Amazon box??? Go figure....
  4. Maybe this will help a bit...
  5. Your blue dots should fit right on your '87 rotors. The pistons do need to be compressed back into the calipers. A large channel lock will do the deed. Here's a pic of my '83VR with a set of blue's and '86 rotors.
  6. The auction for the Helicycle is now taking bids... Attention Flyinfool My trailer has two bidders in a pissing contest and I'm afraid it's already beyond my pocket book and it's only 5 hours into it.. Still three days to go. Some folks are idiots!! Hmmm?? The Hovercraft is siting at $500 bucks??? It'll be intertaining... :-)
  7. Glad to see I'm not the only one....

So I just watched the video Walt and I didn't see all that much covering heat issues. At least not enough to declare it a non-issue. The complaints about heat usually come from traffic jam stop and go around town riding. Not cruising down the slab... even on a very hot day. It's a common complaint among the V2 crowd. Doesn't make any difference which brand. Yamaha just joined the crowd... My 2¢
  9. BigBob. but he's still posting, and how could I forget Black Owl. Most everyone from the pre-crash days.....
  10. Can't remember... but will the bike turn over when the kill switch is off??
  11. Nice Rig!! And I plugged in the battery charger/maintainer. Might try to start it in a couple of days...
  12. Yep to most of the above.. ditto..ditto..ditto...... This has been happening to often of late as our age demographics.. Whew!! big word :-).. in Venture Riders changes. When I think back over the years most of the old guard has moved on as lifestyles change, or age catches up with us. Wildhair, Goose, Lone Eagle, Easy Rider, Eck, Rocket, HDHTR, Dark Knight, Tom, Ponch, are just a few of the names I can recall. If I reminisce and think about it I could come up with a bunch more. Miss 'm all, and now I'm going to miss youse guys too.... May the wind always be at your back, and all your stop lights be green...

So I never paid much attention to it before, but is Y calling the new V a 2018?? I kinda thought it was a 2017???
  16. There has to be a decision. Either you want to be an employee, or you want to be a employer. Tough decision.. Looks like the stair lift biz would be the way to go, but that would mean cutting the umbilical cord to all that security you've built over the years as an employee. Stepping out and being your own boss is a scary thing. If business slows, so does your income, but from what your saying the stair lift biz has a great renewable customer resource... Folks will always be getting older.. Which ever way you end up going I still feel for ya. Back in my early 20's I worked two jobs and 80 hours a week. Almost didn't make it to my late 20's... :-)
  17. I don't know if you have one, but if you don't it might be a good idea to pick one up. It's a ride on chock from Harbor Freight. It will hold your bike up right and the front wheel steady and allow you to torque the bars left and right. That should give you the location of what's not solid and causing the oscillations... My 2¢
  18. Wish I did. That would be a hoot... Unfortunately all my 1stGens are non-op's. Wish I still had my '83VR. Here's a pic from better days.
  19. The E4 generally means you have a few cold solder joints on the PC board. It's electrical not mechanical. It's an easy fix by re-soldering the joints. There should be a bunch of info on how it's done in the tech section. Also in the first gen service manual you'll find all the E code listing for the CLASS.
  20. Well I'll be horn swoggled..!! I just received an email from Yamaha and they are going to have one of the new 'tourer's' available for a test ride at a dealer right here in River City... Yep, Roseville Yamaha is on the list for Aug 18/19. There's going to be one close enough that I'll be able to make it water cooled... My right knee is actually been feeling fairly good lately. Maybe I'll ride the '04 Venture/Voyager over to take a look...
  21. Yeah I missed the bag locks thing.. My reading comprehension sucks lately... :-)
  22. Perhaps the gas cap has been replaced and there's another key which you didn't get???
  23. What a great way to wake up in the morning.... Looking for a lost.... lost Hat.. :-) I love these videos...
  24. Actually I bought mine used also. $600 bucks..thought I'd stole it... That is until some one stole it from me. Long story.. I loved that trailer!!
  25. Nice job on the repaint. In case you didn't know your trailer is a Backpack 20 Motorvation. The only long distance trip I towed mine was from Sacramento to Cody Wy. A little over 3000 miles total and a lot of the time I forgot it was there. http://motorvation.com/bpk20ry2.jpg Here's a pic of mine...
