Custom Built Exhaust Collector

Finally got it to play. That's one Bad A$$ sounding V4. Whew!!! -
Yep, dat's dem. It looks like they only come with the rt. angle mounts, and not stand alone, and probably the only way to get them barefoot would be to contact Kuryakyn directly. Thanks, Eck
-
Thanks ECK- I did a search on just about every word combination of Anti-etc. on the Kuryakyn site and nothing, so I guess Dray's right. I don't need a replacement, but was curious as to what they were called. I think they look kinda cool and dress up the magnum clamps a bit.

Running warmer, running cooler
Condor replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for the explanation as to where that thing should be set Randy. There has been a lot of posts to the effect that it needs to be set 'on', but I've never seen...until now... anything that explained where ON was. Maybe there has been other posts, but I haven't seen them... I can't believe Yamaha didn't put some sort of arrow and on/off labels on the housing. -
help , oil pressure
Condor replied to Thom's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Bad guage maybe??? I just put in Rotella 15-40 myself and the motor doesn't seem to be any noisier than with any other fresh oil I've used. I donno, maybe these motors are designed for high voluum/low oil pressure?? I'm sure someone with a heck of a lot more knowledge about this will chime in..... -
George, I didn't know that!!! Interesting. Here's one I found on Craigslist out in Stockton. I know it's not a current year, but it sounds like it's pristeen. Do a google search for and you'll get hit's from all over the US. Ebay ain't the only place to find nice second gens.... And don't forget to dicker...
-
Sorry Vic, talking about that half round cover.....in the second and third pic.
-
Anyone familiar with Kuryakyn know what the heck these cotton pickin' things are called. I've been all over the site and I guess I'm not looking in the right place. 'Cause I can't find them??? Figured a member that's into chrome might know. Or maybe it's not Kuryakyn??? The first pic is the footpeg assembly, and the last couple are a top and bottom shot of the spacer that I'm trying to find a listing and price for??
-
I found the listing but it has $1500 on the price tag. Maybe they've raised theirs too......
-
Yep, didn't think of that....... OK, I'm outta this thing. Sorry I brought the active subject up in the first place..... Go for it....

Don, I still can't figure out why every one is getting a knee jerk reaction about this whole thing. It very simple. Do a sort on last time visited. Anything with a date of 2006 is probably not active for one reason or another. As an example. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=242 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=874 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=136 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=449 And that's in the first 3 pages, and we have a bunch of pages. And that doesn't take into consideraton those who last visited very early this year and have never posted. If they haven't visited by the end of 2008 they should be culled as well. Remember I'm talking about visits...not posts. Everyone seems to be hanging their hat on posts, and that's not the case.
-
Redneck.... you old dog you. You out there voluntering people again?? Caught another virus??? I bet it took you forever to come up with that post..... I'm not a moderator ....and not interested in being one.... Besides, I only have 10 fingers and 10 toes, and can't count past 19. So you go ahead and give it a try.......

He's already relisted it with a higher starting and BIN. I guess he wants to get his plane fair back too.

Ya know I've got to apologize and eat crow. I just went and looked at the one I have, and that's exactely what you do. The nylon block is nothing more than a spacer to hold the round stock in the center of the tongue tubing. The rotation is done by a bearing in the coupler. Sorry for trying to be a smart a$$.........
-
Heck no, go ahead and drill away. The hitch will still rotate...... as long as the bike and trailer are in sync and do too....:rotf::rotf:

Neither. Just visit the board once in a while. Out of curiousity I just went to the members list and in the first 3 pages found several members listed that haven't been on the site in over 6 months. A couple of them haven't been around since they first joined in '06. zip visits...zip posts. That was in the first 3 pages.... That's what I'm talking about.

I would too Margaret. I would just like to see it happen without a lot of 'ghost' members. Then it would really mean something.

MAC Muffler group buy list.
Condor replied to Condor's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hi Ken, I try to do the group MAC buy once a year. I takes that long before I can catch my breath and get motivated again.... I do have several members who have expressed an interest in joining the next group and I'm keeping them in my PM inbox. I can't promiss anything sooner, but about next July is when it'll start it up again. It took quite a while to get this group done from start to finish, so I'll maybe give some thought to doing it earlier, for summer delivery. Again no promisses.... So PM me if you'd like to be notified... -

You're very kind Cecil. Gotta keep those classics running.... and sounding great. Many Thanks..... Enjoy!! -
I use Trend Micro PC-cillan for my real time firewall. It's the real deal and takes care of everything. They even have a free 'house call' virus scan if you think you have a virus. It costs, but worth every penny. Now days even using a manual cleaner will be too late. What get's me is that we'll go out and spend $400-$2000 for a PC to surf the web and not protect it. Years ago running barefoot I picked up two viruses on another machine, and was locked out of everything. Couldn't even get on the web in normal ways. Dead in the water. Luckly I did a search to see the last file downloaded and when I double clicked on it I got online. (OK,dumb luck) Didn't know anything about Trend but did their free-be house call. They found not just one but two viruses. One was keyed to go off in the future. They also gave me detailed instructions how to manually delete them. They also had a 30 day free trial offer so I tried it. Been with it ever since. Updates itself every morning, and a lot during the day when there's a major world wide virus attack going on. Spam mail is non existant. I highly recomend it to everyone. In my internet based business I can't afford to be down and out for even a couple of days, and my email address is everywhere out there on the net....
-
Noooooo that's not what I meant...... See my last post...

The '91 I just picked up came with a heel/toe, and I'm thinking about taking it off. Heck, the boards don't look like they'll fit my clod-hoppers anyway. I did check the shifter spline and it looked good, and from the condition of the H/T It might not have been on there very long.
