  4. So why don't some of you Star Riders drop in on the next Utah M&E that Dave plans??? I bet they'll accept 2ndGens.... even if 2's take a little longer to get there.....

  7. So mascot is what they call that thing. $50 bucks sounds pretty good. They bring almost that if not more on Ebay when they are listed.
  8. I've hot rodded 4 or 5 small block 4 bolt main GM's in the past. I love to hear stories like this. Good on ya Randy.....
  9. here's another one. :rotf: http://images.inmagine.com/img/rubberball/rbv015/rbv0150452.jpg
  10. You're gonna get a lot of responses and suggestions to your problem, but.... I've been there and done that. So believe me when I tell you......Your expansion relief orifice is plugged. When the fluid heats up and expands from normal braking it has to go somewhere, or it applies more pressure to the brake pads, which causes the brakes to heat even more, which eventually ends up locking up the brakes tighter than a frogs a$$. This can happen on every master cylinder on the bike, but it's most common in the rear brake master. If you remove the plastic reserve hose fitting, held on buy 2 screws, from the side of the rear master (there's an 'O' ring seal), and look down inside you'll see two holes. One goes all the way thru to the cylinder, and the other looks like someone tried to drill and then stopped. Believe me, there's a tiny hole at the bottom. This hole is plugged and causing all your problems. Crud settles down from the reserve and clogs the hole. That's why it's so important to bleed the master cylinders on a regular basis. I finally took the master back apart and blew it out. The best way to tell if it's open is shine a small flashlight into the cylinder and look for a speck of light coming out the side. I tried very small needles to clean it, but even they were too big. I've used the wire from a grocery store wire tie on the clutch, but I think that may even be too big for the rear. Hopes this helps.
  11. Interesting site, I may give it a try.
  12. LOL... Yes Alan, there is a sun. Somewhere.... :draming:Since we have a somewhat 365 day riding season around here there's not much call for recreational snow vehicles. A rain suit is a big plus....
  13. I haven't got a clue Joe. I don't even know if Netscape is supported as a stand alone browser any longer. I haven't followed it, but I think a larger search engine bought the rights to it a long time ago, and I think?? that's why I reluctantly switched over to IE. OK I just did a search and it was picked up by AOL. I'm not a big fan of AOL.....
  14. Holy Molly!! I had no idea that was what was happening. I just thought it was more like a freezing rain.....
  15. Yesterday afternoon I went by a local independant MC dealer, Cycle Parts, to pick up a copy of Friction Zone, a west coast rag. The last couple of times I dropped by it was closed and I just figured it was for the holidays. Same thing this time, so I got out and peaked thru the windows. Nothing. The store walls were bare. Closed out of business.... I received an anouncement about an auction being held next Wednesday from Lone Eagle about another local independant store. National Cycle Discount Center. AUCTION The first store was nice but didn't have a ton of inventory on the shelves. National was loaded, and there are over 1400 items listed in the auction catalog. And a lot of these are multiples. This may just be a coincendence that these two stores were located right here in Sacramento, but it may be a sign of the times. And I wonder if this is happening in other parts of the country as well??? I plan on attending the National auction next Wednesday because they have some big sized items that I've been wanting, and I may get lucky. And.. anything else of interest that ends up going for cheap.
  16. I've already been to download.com, but everything available is priced, and lately I've never been happy with what Downlaod has to offer, and end up removing it. I was hoping to find something that wouold support I.E. much like that pic resize plugin that Don listed a while back.
  17. Thanks for the info Chuck, but I just did that, and although it does show all the unique's, it also shows generics that I know are OK. So in my case it doesn't work. The only time a unique appears is when it's edited into the index page. I haven't really even done it to my own website... and I know it's good. I think I need a plugin that actually pings each site in real time???
  18. I have hundreds of bookmarks, and a lot of them are not visited for a years, but I don't want to toss them.. When I first started 'using', Netscape was my browser of choice, and it had a neat feature in the bookmark area. By clicking on the feature the browser would go thru the intire bookmark area and ping every bookmark and then mark all those websites that no longer responded for whatever reason. You could then go thru the list and delete those items that were marked. It was a great way to keep the bookmark file cleaned out. IE does not have that feature, and the bookmarks are piling up. Anyone know of an IE plugin validation tool that would work? I don't have the time or energy to click on each and every website listed.
  19. Thanks for the pics Wiz. I used to do Fleet Week every so often when I had the boat slipped in Alemeda. From your pics it looks like the boat crowd was down from those days of pre-homeland security. On the docks we called it 'bumper boat time'. Wish we'd had todays quality digital cameras available back then. All mine are in slides. One year while anchored off the west side of T.I. I had a Blue Angel do a close pass right over the top of us. Looked like he was going to hit the top of the mast. Took a pic and I could see the pilot looking at me. Got the shot!!... Thanks for the memories
  20. I think you hit the nail on the head Rus. Rear carbs are running rich either becasue they are out of sync, or bad wires and caps...??

On the V4 issue. Didn't I just read about Yamaha supplying a auto manufacture with V4's for one of their hybreds or something along that line. That might keep the ol' V4 in the mix.... and maybe we'll get a few spin off hi-tech improvements??
  24. elfed:rotf: Merry Christmas!!!!
