  1. Got it Diane.... Many Thanks
  2. That may be the way I end up going Jerry, and probably the cheapest too.....
  3. the tubing welded to the hitch is 1.5" acrossed on the inside and 2" acrossed on the outside. I not sure if they go by the inside or the outside when refering to it??. Pro'bly 12" should do. If it isn't long enough I can always use the stretcher..... I have a place here in town, Blue Collar Supply, that deals in surplus metals. I haven't given them a try yet.
  4. What a neat house!!
  5. The PO welded a piece of 1.5"ID square stock to the bottom of the Bustec hitch on the '91. The square measures 2" on the outside. I can't find a ball mount anywhere. One of the local stores did give me a 1 3/16" drawbar because they didn't even have it listed in inventory.... and it was around christmas... , but it's pretty sloppy, and is designed to fit into a 1.25" receiver. I've been all over the internet trying to find something, but so far nada.... So.... do they even make a 1.5" receiver?? I guess the options I have would be:
  6. Kit. Congrats on the new bike. I've never owned a new one and I'm jealous. On the foot position issue, it's funny how it's different strokes for differnent folks. I'm 6'6" and still shrinking , and actually perfer the seating position on the 1stGens. With the highway pegs way forward it gives me a lot of flexibility as to where I want to rest my feet. On long passages I usually rest the foot using the achilles tendon on top of the peg, and other times the instep... For the short rides and lots of shifting I'm happy keeping them tucked back under me. When I sit on a 2ndGen....yes folks I have sat on one without getting warts.... :rotf:the standard foot forward position just isn't as far forward as I'd like, to make it comfortable. The knees take a beating and really get to aching. It'll be interesting to hear how the Wing feels when someone tall is running down the road. And.... I'm sure we'll hear back from you on that one....:)
  7. I planned on putting in the order on Monday the 21st Tom. They're being shipped out of the San Diego area via UPS so depending on what part of the country you live in dictates the time in transit. Coast to coast generally takes 8 biz days. Mid West is usually 3-5 days. West coast a day...maybe two. I would emagine that Odyssey will get them out the door a couple of days after getting the shipping info. Hope this helps.
  8. Very nice job Al. Good lookin'. Could I make a suggestion? Put an X brace between each bracket upright under the trunk to beef up the mount for cross wind buffeting and to take torque stress off the trunk mount areas?? Just a thought....
  9. We've only got a couple of days left to order Odyssey Batteries. For details.
  10. I guess we're all Lucky Ancient Flatulence. LAF for short...
  11. Did you ever watch the behind the scenes segment of that particular auction? Jackson going balistic, the auctioneer not knowing what the hell he was doing, and the bidders in total confusion. The camera crew in melt down. Now that was classic!!!
  12. If I remember correctly it went for somewhere in the $15,000 range????
  13. 3 MC's down in 3 days While coming back from Home Depot two days ago I passed by an accident scene where a kid on a 'crotch rocket' had gone down. Ambulances were on the scene. The rider looked like he was OK, but with a bandaged up right ankle and sitting on the curb. I shook my head and kept going. The next day we had a fatality involving a MC in a pile up out on Hwy 65 north. Then this morning I heard about this one on the radio down in Vallejo. http://www.timesheraldonline.com/ci_7997794?source=most_viewed Are all these kids brain dead???
  14. The one that surprised me was the 429 Cobra Jet. I didn't know they only made 200 of them... or at least that's what I thought I'd heard??.... Anyway I drove a brand new one back in '72 or '73. And I have a Holley Carb off one out in the garage somewhere... And... it went for $100g's. Wonder what the carb is worth?? :rotf:
  15. Yep... Consider yourself lucky that you've gotten 153K out of the tranny. Ford truck trannies are the pits.... "100K and DOA....." Keep running it, and then service when it's toast.
  16. So much for the global warming theory....
  17. Anybody else watching the auction on the speed channel??? I just enjoy looking at those restorations..... Better than a car show....
  18. Ya gotta take your hat off to the guy that's riding that thing. You can see the learning curve he went thru from the start to the finish of the clip. "To the moon Alice"......!!!
  19. I've had that problem in the past too. Ya hafta keep 'm seperated. Anytime you put two similar items together and ignore them for a while...they WILL reproduce.... Great story....!! :)
  20. Nice Scoot!! I think you've got a lot of people here on the board looking at that extra trunk and thinkin'..... Includin' me.... Oh yeah... you can stay....
  21. Got it. Thanks Mike.... For anyone interested, we still have 4 days before wrapping up the order. See the first post in this thread for the info for the group buy.
  22. Klaus, here's a pic of the PiggyBacker Axle under the springs. Eck, by flipping the axle Klaus is saying to turn the axle over and place it between the frame and spring instead of below the spring. Hope this helps.
  23. Rotella 15-40 dino. 'Bout $9.00 bucks a gallon at Wall Mart.
  24. The 36th week of '07....
