Heard that 30 years ago. But take off and fly.... I don't think so. Panic and the first thing you hit is the brakes and the cruise will disconnect . And a car ain't got no wings.....

VMax rear end - first 600 miles

AND.... your top speed will be 75mph.... but you'll get there quick.. -
Couldn't look at the video but did do a google search on the stuff and found this site http://www.lapolicegear.com/quikclotsport.html that carries a 'sport' pak, and the price is pretty reasonable compared to other supply houses. I'm going to put some in my kit.

VMax rear end - first 600 miles

Dan, I'm a little confused this morning and I've already gone thru a pot of coffee.... Why would you want to put a v-max final in a 1stGen? We're already running 4000+ most of the time at freeway speeds. Put a V-Max in there and you'll be up in the hi 4's, mayvbe low 5's. Granted you're hole shots will be awesome, and you're burnouts a piece of cake, but your mpg will go to hell in a handbasket..... -
Hey George, that was exciting huh?? We'da pro'bly got 80mpg if it had been at our backs.... And I don't think we ever did hit 75mph that day...but I bet that wind did... Whew!!
-
Does your bike have a sweet spot when riding long distances? The '83 just naturally runs perfect at 75mph. Edit: And.... oh yeah... Get's between 38-42mpg Gerald.

Not too radical, they've been around for a long time.....

Diesel's the way to go. I have a Yanmar Diesel Outboard on the sailboat that burns a quart an hour at 5.5 knots. That works out to 24mpg. It get's better milage than my F250 7.3idi. I also used to own a '79 rabbit 5 speed FI gas, that I once got 100mpg coasting down from Reno to Sacramento... Normally it got 41-42mpg, and hauled a$$.. I like the idea of these engineers going back to the basics instead of selling the public a bill of goods on hybreds being the panacia of fuel consumption and green. Like the artical said the electricty has to come from somewhere...... 2¢ Ka-ching....

They are on my watch list, and to me they're worth 900 gazillion 40 seven thousand 16 80 cents.,.. But I notice they've already gone over that. They're yours.....

I'd love to hear one go by at WOT, but otherwise I'm perfectly happy with my 94hp V4 that will last a lot longer than the Aprilla. Bet my gas milage is a tad better too......

Don't worry about another member being interested in the vents Richard. Figure what they're worth to you and you either get them or don't. With 4000 members I'm sure there are a couple that are looking at them..... Good Luck...

Sorry I didn't understand the logistics of your problem. Since you already own the parts located here in the US, my question then would be why not have the bottom sent to the person holding your complete trunk and offer to pay them a few extra bucks to swap the bottoms out, toss the bad one in the dumpster, and pack it for shipping? You could arrange the shipping, and pickup from your end..... That would probably be your best option. If the seller doesn't want to get involved, the extra shipping charges getting the parts to someone, who will, isn't going to be cheap. You have my sympathies, but you should have looked into any shipping problems prior to buying the parts. -

I use regualar carb cleaner, and then follow up with SeaFoam 'Deep Creep' on all the moving parts and the choke pistons. The whole process will make things work again. The carb cleaner I use is also flamable. Works great to locate any vacuum leaks in the intake..... Save the Sea Foam for the inside of the carbs..... -
It seems like this is a common problem on the Second Gens. Something that may work is to do a little preventative maintenence on all those tabs before they break. I used the product pictured below to lay fiberglass mat over a very large hole in the 91's trunk, and was amazed at how good the stuff acted on the ABS. It's a thicker viscosity then the stuff I usually use to 'weld' spider cracks that develope with age. It does a great job of getting the mat to set up. Maybe glass matt on the tabs would keep things from breaking, or if they have broke to repair the tab... The stuff is available thru TAP Plastics here on the west coast.

If the RSV mounting rack fits on the TD without any mods (something you'd have to do yourself anyway), swaping out trunk parts isn't that big of a deal. I'm sure someone on the east coast of the US or Canada could help you out, but why not do it yourself??? -
can anyone help on turn signal issue?
Condor replied to ragamuffin's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Terry, you may want to take this question to the 2ndGen Tech talk. We have enough trouble just figuring out these 1st Gens..... -
I've got it and don't even own a Zumo....... Thanks.

Lowell, The fairings are all interchangeble, but the dash panals are different between the 83-85 and the 86-93. When you talk to the wrecking yard make sure that all the pieces you're able to find are from the 86 up.... If you're in no rush, blue on blue upper fairings show up on Ebay once in a while, but if you're going to repaint, anything will do......
