  1. WHINING????? :rotf:
  2. Yeah, but they do drive on the wrong side of the road.....
  3. Nope, that one goes directly to the battery and serves as the motor ground, as the bolt screws into the motor block. Individual accessories run seperate grounds off the negative side of the fuse block. While you're messing around with it take it off and clean up the contact surfaces.

  5. No Squeeze. Rather than go into a long response, Here's a link that will give you an idea, but basically it increases RAM.
  6. OK..........
  7. Wow, I thought someone would have piped in with the answer by now??? Anyway the battery ground wire connects directly to a bolt in the waterpump area just inside the plastic 'L' coolant connector.
  8. I hope it's more like a high-R howl... I like a good howl.....
  9. You're absolutely right, however all AGMs take a lower charge voltage to keep from gassing. Not all things are equal, and neither are the chargers.....
  10. WHINING????? :rotfl:
  11. Yeah, it's irritating, ain't it?. You can live with it, or pull the baffles out by cutting a flap in the top and getting in there with a needlenose. Then weld the collector back up and you're good to go. Doesn't hurt a thing.....
  12. That's only in the Northern Hemisphere..........:rotf:
  13. Maybe increase your virtual memory size?? Sounds like you're not able to buffer enough ahead to give the vids an even playback??? I've also found that cleaning out the saved webpage history helps make some room....
  14. They're gonna discontinue them after next year George....... Let's hope the new 1800cc V-4 only screams when the R's are high.....
  15. I feel your pain LOL :rotfl:
  16. I use a Private Label smart charger from West Marine that has 2-10-15amp charge rates. Paid about $60 bucks for it.... wholesale.... then saw the same charger at SAM'S Club (different brand, same charger) for $49 retail with a starting circut. That's boating for ya.... Anyway I did a google search for the CTEK and noticed when reading some of the text that it's made for a lead acid battery. Odysseys are an AGM/Dry. Anyway, you might look into the SAM'S charger. I've been using my WM for about 4 years now and it's a dandy..... One nice thing about the CTEK 800 is it's size, and it could be stowed in a saddlebag for travel emergencies, but for what you get it's over priced.
  17. The frame needs to be removed to get at the 83-85 while the 86 up has a flip up panel.... Everything else is the same. When you filled the reserves make sure you didn't over fill them, and another thing to check is the rear master switch float being held down in the empty position by the rubber 'accordian' and it giving you a false low fluid reading.

    #1 Song ...

Something by the Jimmy Dorsey Band..... who the 'H' is that.....
  19. Copied from another thread..... Here's my position on shimming Squeeze. If the handle bar masters are going to slip or rotate on the tubing with shims, they would do it without the shim because of improper torqueing. 6mm bolts will give plenty of torque compression to make the masters stationary. The weak point will be the threads in the aluminum body due to over torquing , and that exists, shims or not. I understand what you're talking about in delinking. I hadn't thought about the rear master driving the 2ndGen front caliper. I wonder if it could??? The 2ndGen calipers I have are the 2 piston varity with the floating offside pads. I wonder if it's the right way to go??? Hmmmm.... Got to think about this somemore....
  20. Squeeze, I think we've done enough to pirate this thread. I'm going to copy you last post to the 1stGen area, and go from there. Sorry Folks!!! Back to light switches...... :-)
  21. Yep, it's the 'O' ring in the valve on the front of the engine. When they get a little old and stiff they leak a few drops when the temps turn cold during the winter. For the most part they don't leak during warmer season's. Mine's leaked a couple of times after riding all day and then letting the bike sit at night when the temp's really dipped. Like I said it's only done it a couple of times and I'm not going to worry about it until it does it all the time. From what others have posted replacing the 'O' ring isn't a big deal when it comes time...
  22. OK Squeeze, you're going to have to explain to me why a solid shim, say out of machined aluminum, would be dangerous, and also why I'd need to de-link the brakes. I don't see it.
  23. Thanks for the heads up Squeeze. I can't see any problem shimming the 1" masters if done properly, and I also have a set of 2ndGen calipers to use. And if it gives me any problems I can always slap the old system back on.
  24. Another thought just came to mind. Check your sidestand switch and see if it's working. Happened to me once.
