Clutch fluid level
Condor replied to BJB's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Don't overfill the reserve. Fill to the middle of the sight glass. If you had fluid leaking out of the top I suspect you probably have it filled to the brim. Also fluid level will go down as the pads wear. -
OK.... Sorry to hear about your 'put's demise.... Maybe reinstall your browser??? Still have the boot disc?? Do you have a system restore feature?? Sometimes backing up a week or so makes things better....

Just about any mesh jacket with armor will work. I picked up a FieldShear mesh w/zip out off Ebay for $64.00 a while back, and it's better than expected. MOF it's nice. Wore it to Ft Collins and back. It's black and in 105 degs it was not uncomfortable. Sure dehydrated me tho. Took two days to get the fluids back up.

Yep, wouldn't miss it. Some of that talent is amazing. And don't feel alone on the terrible guitar. I've been strumin' a Goya acustic for years and still can't play....

I've heard that the cheaper pumps don't hold up well under constant use.... i.e. a very flat tire. I picked up one of the Cycle Pumps for the scoot. It'll dent your pocket book, but better safe than sorry.... Ride-On and Cycle Pump are always on board.

Excuse my ignorance, but Tom-Tom's don't have, or come with, a 12vdc female plug in the housing??? If it did come with a 12vdc power cable cut the cig lighter plug off and wire it to your accessory fuse box for a one vehicle only install, or install a cig lighter power plug if you want to move it from vehicle to vehicle.

I think a lot of the reason some fit and others don't is the helmet size. A medium or large is not going to take up nearly as much room as a 2XL. That said my 2XL Nolan Flip will fit in the trunk of my 1stGen. But you can forget about putting two in there.....

It's my understanding that part of the price of fuel in the UK is for auto insurance that we have to pony up out of our own pockets in the US?? I wonder what the price of fuel in other countries might include?? What part of it is taxes?? I wonder what the actual cost of a gallon without the 'tax/perk pack' would be in comparison???

Gotta love those wasps... Had one get in my helmet because of a raised shield and proceed to sting the crap out my lower lip. Keeping the scoot under control while trying to scrape it out from underneath the chin guard was an experience. The last time I got stung by a bee while picking plums off the tree in the back yard my hand started to swell and the pain started to run up my arm. With the wasp sting I wasn't sure if I was gonna die or not. Luckly my lower lip stayed numb for about a half hour and everything returned to normal. I now keep the shield almost closed.

I Need A...

Squeeze, just a guess here, but it probably revolves around a manufacturing system, and parts people needing to identify a particular part without having to look up the number for each one they need. Much easier to learn memorize one number rather than a different number for every part. Also much easier to maintain inventory.???? -

Of course they're different. The first three digits designate which bike they fit, the second set of 5 is the valve cover gasket part number... the same throughout. Different prices for each. I guess I'm a little dense, but what are you making an example of??? In one of your previous posts you stated that the W0041 was not the part number, and I still stand by my statement that it is..... In your above example the 11193 is the valve cover gasket part nember, just like the W0041 is the rebuild kit number. -

I fianlly found the info and according to what Squeeze posted the W0042 IS the part number. On the Parts Number the first three Digits indicate the Bike which used the Part first Time. next 5 Numbers are the Parts-No itself. Next two Digits indicate superceeded or modified Parts. Last two Digits ... don't know. This applies to Parts. Nuts, Bolts, Seals are specified different. -

I've noticed that. I needed an oil seal for the clutch push rod and looked it up in my price list. Got two hits. One for $3.00 something, and the other for 7.50 and change. Same exact same part number. When I ordered it from the local Yamaha dealer they charged me the lower price, and didn't memtion the huigher listing. So.... just becasue you run into two different pricess for the same part number doesn't neccessarly mean that it's a different part..... -
Dan, when it opens click on the view tab at the top and it should give you a rotate feature. It does make things easier....

It's still a little fuzzy, but it's starting to come back to me. The 26H is the code they use to designate the first model the part apeared on. The 26H code is used for the XVZ1200. The difference in pricing between the 83-85 front caliper rebuild kits and the 86-93 front rebuilds is that the later model uses four seals instead of the two on the early units. The rear master cylindar rebuild kits are the same throughout the VR run from 83-93. They never changed the rear master. -
I can't be 100% sure, but I think our windshields are made out of plexiglass. Much tougher, more scratch resistence, and will not yellow over time. So.... Pledge isn't going to effect it like it would Lexan.
