I just received an email from Jake Wilson and they are having a close out sale on chrome side cover bling for the 2gens if anyone's interested... They don't mention if it's for just one cover or a set, so call before placing an order.... https://www.jakewilson.com/p/1257/20464/Show-Chrome-Accessories-Side-Cover?v=8569&s=171267 And so it begins.....

My back started hurting just looking at that thing.....

The only thing holding the headers in the collector is a copper sleeve/gasket if they are original to the '83. Later on they started using an asbestos type material, and can't pin point the year?? So.... to get them off beat the crap out of them with a rubber mallet. Twisting the fitting should help a bit. It's basically brute force.. You might also look around and locate that oil leak while you can. I bet that old girl smokes while warming up... :-)

Weird transmission issue...

Better late than never... I haven't seen anyone mention that the shifting thing-a-mabob behind the clutch pack on 1stGens has a tendency to wear out, and in some cases fall out. They are free floating between the mounting plates. They can be replaced with a set from a 2ndGen which is much better. For some reason I can't copy the pic from the parts manual, but I could copy the listing. Anyone who has a .pfd 2Gen parts manual it's on D4. Maybe doing a Google search on the part number will get a pic from some dealers parts listing?? 6 4NK-18185-00-00 . SEGMENT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 7 93604-12037-00 . Interesting video. I'm not sure if I'd would have bit on any of them, but to each his own... :-) Old bikes have to go somewhere.. Maybe the metal was sent back to Japan and some came back as Hondas.....

Mine was a '79 1.7L/5sp/FI. Used to get in the low 40 mpg. Once when coming back from Reno I decided to see exactely what I could squeeze out of it. Tanked it to the brim and never went above 55mph unless I was coasting in neutral down hill and then maybe hit 85... When I got back into town I stopped at the gas station up on the corner and filled it to the brim again. I'd traveled 110 miles and it took 1 gallon exactly. Amazing cars and they didn't have all the computer and smog controls they put on them now...

I gotta lot of stuff like that too.... :-) -
Years ago I hit one with my VW Rabbit on the way to Susanville Ca. Came up on a herd of about 15 on the side of the road and slowed way down to about 6-7 mph to go past them, and just as I got up to them a doe decides to run in front of the car. Got her with the left head light and gave her one hell of a headache. I reported it to the Fish and Game when I got into town just in case she may have been really injured. Replaced the head light and continued on my way. Rabbit 1 Deer 0

I've got the full monty in my '06 Titan. It's not a touch screen, but it's pretty big, and I've got to pull over to program it for a hard to find location. The sweetie behind the screen has the sexiest voice so I don't mind her telling me what to do. Heck I want to marry her..!!! I keep trying to get her phone number... but she keeps ignoring me. It does make long trips interesting. Hey what else is there to do when you're old and single... :-)

Nope... More like Chicken Lips... Another piece of bling that I've seen and don't see in the catalog are stone guard grids that fit over the turn signal lights and the head light. Might have been made by Kyryakyn(sp) or Custom Chrome... Chrome Werks??? Anyway they looked cool but could never find a set that had already found a home and wasn't leaving... :-) -
Did he say $75 a round? As in, it cost $75 every time ya pull the trigger?
Condor replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
They'd probably be good for starting a forest fire, but I don't have to worry, the guy won't ship to CA etal, and he only takes M.O.'s and Cashiers's. I have bought a few guns off GunBroker seller's, but will not send anyone a CC or MO without some sort of a way to back up the payment. I know a lot of guys will chime in here and explain to me how a CC or MO can be traced, but it doesn't do a lot of good without recourse. Another thing I don't like is the BS from sellers saying a bid reflects a 3% discount, and if paying by Credit Card to add 3% to the total. I've been in business and taken CC's for over 35 years and have never charged someone for the convenience of using a CC. It's part of the overhead, the cost of doing business, and it's just as convenient for me Talk about cheap SOB's. Geeze!! I'm getting old and opinionated.... Need to stop now.... :-) -

$75 dollars may be a bit of an exaggeration. I've seen them selling as low as 2 bucks a round in bulk. And somewhere around $35-$65 for 10rds. Now that may be a millitary custom sniper load, and that's what our gooberment pays for them?? Any way you put it, thatsa lotta money folks.... I bought 360 rounds.. 18 boxes.. of custom safari loads for one of my rifles in an auction that retailed for $100 per box of 20. I got it for a buck a round, and that was a more than I could really afford. -

I've been on atorvastatin for years. I have leg issues and vertigo issues. Today was my first day of not taking one. Hope this helps ... One day at a time....

I have one auto to my name, a 9mm S&W 5904. It's bulky and sits in the safe. I've thought about picking up a 40, and the SR40c looks like it'd be a great nightstand and CCW. Plus it's CA friendly...

The stainless Vaqueros are a little hard to get and in 44-40 near impossible to find... The combo Blackhawks are even rarer. They never didn't make very many of the 32-20's basically because they didn't sell. That usually makes them appreciate in value down the road.. The collector in me made me buy them, and I'll probably never shot them. Some of the Rugers are built pretty stout. I used to carry a 357 BH loaded with 38 snake loads during the season. Buy it... carry it,,, sell it at the end of the season. If I recall they were in the 100 and small change price range. I'd usually get all my money back out of it. Shoulda kept them... :-) Dessert Eagle 50's are a hand full.

No I didn't buy a couple more Ventures... :-) Have way more than I need now.... Picked up these beauty's in a local auction about 2 miles from the house. It was a mericle they were so close. The first one is a Ruger s/s Vaquero in 44-40, and the second is a Ruger Blackhawk combo in 32-20/32 H&R mag. Both are fairly hard to find NIB....

That's it!! I ain't givin' up no Hot Dogs...!!!

I've been taking Atorvastatin once a day for about two years.... Maybe that's why I'm always loosing my balance?? I think I'm going... like Dan.... to once a week...

Nice... Gonna be fun shooting that one...
-
Congrats!! What flavor did you get??? If it's a pistol the 3-9 may be overkill. Something like a 2-5 long eye relief might work better... IMHO

Ya know... Everyone is saying to lube the speedo cable is to unscrew it from the back of the speedo and inject..stuff.. to lube the thing. When messing with mine I found that all I had to do was remove the cable at the axle fitting, pull out the cable, and raise the cover so the head is above the level of the dash. Then you can add any type lo-viscosity lube in the end and it will flow up to...or down in this case..to the speedo head. You can also wipe some on the cable and put it back in and screw the end back into the axle gear. This is on a 1stGen. See all the above suggestions for a 2nd.... I think??
