  1. I'm ready anytime you are Don. Just tell me when to paypal. On the 15min log off issue. I use the 'new post' feature a lot, and I sometimes get pulled away from the computor for other things, when I get back to reading the posts I'll loose a lot of the listings because I've been recycled..... If there were some way to keep the list active without increasing the log in time, it would work for me.
  2. Here's a copy of the text in my first post plus an add on for the choke cable. To remove the cables adjust the freeplay up at the grip to max and then the cable cover end should be loose enough to coax it out thru the slot in the cup mounted on the assembly. The choke cable is pretty straight forward. Undo the keeper and remove.
  3. The carbs are held on the manafolds with hose clamps. Loosen the clamps up and sorta work... twist and turn and lift gently... the carbs out. They will come out the left side with the throttle cables attached, and the cables will support the weight of the assembly if you need to scratch your nose. To remove the cables adjust the freeplay up at the grip to max and then the cable cover end should be loose enough to coax it out thru the slot in the cup mounted on the assembly. As far as the choke setting, my '83 starts much the same. Very little choke. Will not start with full choke. It seems like every bike has it's own choke personality. I own 4 and every one is different. The only one that seems to act 'normal' is the '91. And yes, plugs will foul easily when the flooded.
  4. Found this posted on a Wing board. It came from Black Tie Accessories (440) 988-7233 Total Cost was $164.95 including shipping. $130.00 for the swivel $20.00 for the coupler $5.00 for the shims $9.95 Shipping Seems pretty steep. I picked up a swivel hitch from http://www.neoshotrailers.com/options.html scroll to the bottom of the page.

    Vin Number

WOW!!!!!! There'll never be another post about who has the oldest... You need to get one of those vanity plates "FIRST VR", or "1ST VR". I noticed in Dan's post that he has an '84 #1262 built 10/83. My '83 is #3089 built 3/83. Doesn't make sense in the whole VIN# scheme of things.
  6. Another thing came to mind on the trailer for $2500. Is it a single axel or tandem. If it's a single it might be a bit high. Mine is a 7,000GVW tandem. Around here singles go for $1700-$2000, and shouldn't be any different in your area. Morro Bay.... sounds like we got a winner....
  7. What you could do Brian is park your trailer in my back yard here in Sacramento, and then ride with us down to Morro Bay Thursday morning. If Dan makes it we should have around 4 or 5 leaving out of here, and meeting up with Lone Eagle and Rich-99 south of Stockton on I-5. Stop for lunch and visit Corbin Seats in Holister before heading down Hwy101 to Morro Bay. About 300 miles total. Nice easy day ride. You could also ride back with us on Sunday. Hey, it's an option...
  8. Only if you run a brick wall thru it.......
  9. Missing??? I just noticed a bunch more imo-cons in my custom tray. 'Specially that big ol' cotton pickin' hugs icon that takes up half a page. It's going as soon I can get to it.... OK...tried to get it gone. Can't. Not happy............
  10. The last time I heard, Steve (hdhtr) used GTX 20-50 in his '90 for the last 165,000 miles. Pretty good testimony. If I remember correctly GTX was formulated for small high reving engines. Hmmmm, I wonder what our V-4's are??? I'd stick with the GTX. After 21 years, anything else may cause it to go blind...... Go buy 4 qt's at you local auto parts emporium and have the dealer put it in.
  11. That's about right Brian. I paid $2500US for my 1999 6x12 Wells Cargo about 4 years ago...
  12. Being out sniped doesn't bother me. It was just worth more to the other bidder. 'Nother thing.... Maybe it's only me, but I hate being refered to as the winning bidder. I didn't win a dang thing, I just bought something..... When I win something it better be free..............
  13. ACTIVE COMPLETED
  14. Just to keep everyone in the loop, I traded email with the manufacturer and the braces are off to be anodized this morning. Things are moving right along...
  15. Yep, it's the season. Everytime someone...hess4less in this case.... parts out a complete bike and gets big bucks for a lot of the parts, the other sellers come out of the woodwork and jump in. Which is a good thing for the buyer because the prices will start to drop again. It's just a supply and demand thing.... Be patient grasshopper.....
  16. Just got off a direct line to Jesus..... Healing, Discernment, Guidence and skill for the Doctor, and Peace. AMEN!!
  17. And that's where you're very wrong.....
  18. Getting a battery anytime soon thru the group buy isn't very like Slawek. MOF since I've already refunded two of the paypals I don't think we'll be able to make the minimum 10 required, and am seriously considering canceling the buy. If you'd like a refund, I can do that, and wouldn't be disappointed. Just let me know.
  19. That was a good one Mike, we all needed a good laugh, and you're saying he only uses one gun for both his target shooting and fast draw demo's.... Jeeze!!!
  20. I'd look around and find someone with one of those fiber optic inspection cameras to take a look at the bottom of the tank, and I've never removed one, but I think there has been a few posts to that regard. The carbs can be removed by taking off the side covers, middle cover, and air cleaner. They will come out the left side without detaching the throttle linkage. After they're out you can deal with the linkage. It's not a time consuming job. The tach issue?? If I remember correctly the pulse is triggered the #2 cylinder firing. I know that's not an answer, but it could be a place to start if #2 isn't firing at low RPM. It's also interesting the the tach kicks in above 2000rpm...the same RPM the stator starts charging??? Coincidence?? And maybe your tach needle is sticking??? Just some thoughts.
  21. OK if you want to split hairs you did say normal, but...you failed to add the term customized... The intent did read more like you were refering to a normal 'out of the box' gun, trying to maximize effort and down play equipment contribution. All you have to do is modify the pawl, and the cylinder rachet to get it to advance to the next cylinder, and indexing isn't a super critical issue because he's shooting blanks and the ballons broken at close range by the muzzle blast. :rasberry:
  22. I met Bob back in the early 70's while working for a national gun manufacturer. The gun is far from normal. The torque on the hammer spring is a bunch, and it only has to be barely pulled back from the fireing pin to have enough force to set off the primer. The moving parts are highly finished to reduce any possible drag. His early model Colts came with a modified half hook hammer for fanning purposes, but the gun used in the clip looked like it had an extended hammer tang instead of the side curl. I had a chance to do a face off with him, with a redlight greenlight signal, and my gun already cocked. I lost of course.... :-) He could draw, fire, and holster quicker than a normal hammer could fall. It was and still is an awesome demontration of speed and reflexes....
  23. So....... does that mean a heel/toe shifter is out of the question, or you're not going to be able to stop... Hope everything works for the good Bob....
  24. Sounds like you've plugged up your jets on in the carb with crud. They need to be cleaned. And clean out the tank as well, or it'll happen again. Don't ask me how I know that......
