  1. With the starting bid at $8,000 I bet he doesn't get any bids. You'd be better off picking up an '86+ Venture, triking it, and be in it for less money.... And if I were going to spend that kind of money I'd look at this one first TRIKE
  2. The trike is for sale on Ebay. Here's a LINK with all the info.
  3. The Corbin passenger space behind the backrest on my '91 is really limited. Looks like something that needs to be looked into. I don't really need a higher trunk, just about 2-3 inches more room aft. I wonder if I can get away with just making flat bracket extensions??
  4. I've never gapped the plugs as they're pre-gapped by the manufacturer. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check, but I just toss 'm in right out of the box. A couple of folks have replaced their fuse panels with aftermarkets, and moved them off the battery and onto the top of the air cleaner box. Squidley has done a few and would be the guy to contact for info on panel type etc...
  5. The '83VR doesn't have a bleeder valve in the top loop of the front brake line. The bleeder was added because it was such a PITA getting air out of the left front. That's what we get for owning the 'BETA' model.....
  6. Yep, scary.... And next week there'll be a bunch listed because everyone thinks they've got a gold mine and wants to cash in.... and the price will drop. Hmmm... What did I do with that extra back rest????
  7. Man, it makes my palms itch..... Royal Custom
  8. Nice web site. I still don't understand how the beads migrate from the heavy side, but I guess it works or they wouldn't be selling any... My thought is that Ride-On also balances a tire, plus has the added benifit of keeping punchers sealed, and since the Dyna-beads are not fixed, and need to balance the tire each time it begins to rotated, that if we ever had to add any type sealer post-leak those beads would start sticking where they're not supposed to be and instead of being able to continue riding the bike would start hopping all over the place???
  9. Interesting, why don't you take a pic of the brown one and post it. I'd like to see what it looks like...maybe others would too.
  10. Nope they all have white lettering. The cruise lettering is in green. The 83 doesn't have cruise. The 83/84's thumb switch is on/off/set, and the 86+ thumb is set/accell/decell. Got side tracked with the project with VWIV and all. Need to get back on it.
  11. You need to check with Friesman. He might be parting out his '85. The bottom end of the motor is toast, and will cost more to fix than I think he wants to put into it. He's on the road back home from VWIV with a brief stop over at a wedding. If you email him he's on BlackBerry and will get back to you fairly quickly.
  12. Stick with your buddies trailer, or another single wheel type, since you've already committed to the type of hitch you've ordered. The single takes a totally different mounting system than a 2 wheel.
  13. Here's a pic of a salve 99 I looked at. http://www.cast-aways.com/YAMAHA/IMGP1919%20(Medium).JPG
  14. I can understand putting a rt.angle on the rear, but for the life of me can't understand why anyone would put one on the front when it's so easy to get to??? BTW if you do, make sure the installer does it right. Ask Lone Eagle about that one.....
  15. I get most of mine off Ebay, and I use two different types. Since I don't have the luxury of garage storage and the bikes are left outside all year, one is a thicker bullet proof all-weather variety, and then when I'm out on the road overnight I have one made out of lighter nylon that stuffs into a very small bag. The heavy weights cost around $35-$40 bucks, the light weights are around $20 bucks, and that's delivered. While at VWIV last weekend I had a used half cover I'd bought that only covered the top of the scoot. I didn't like it. It did it's job keeping friday mornings thunder storm and rain off, but it didn't give that out-of-sight..out-of-mind protection that a full cover affords.
  16. LOL... I barely know how to post the pics....
  17. We ate a lot of meals at Margies Resturant. Unbelieveble food. I'll be back.
  18. Awesome!!!!!
  19. I think I located a few old Venture Riders....
  20. Ft. Hunter-Ligit to Hwy 1. Sorry no pics of the ride thru the mountains. Too busy holding on to the grips.... Goatyest, twistyest road I've every been on. Ya had to be there to appreciate it....
  21. Pancakes, Blueberries, Yum!!!!
  22. ...
  23. Attached are a few pics from Thursday's ride to SLO, and Friday's pre-ride I took when the mood struck me, or I remembered I had a camera....
  24. Clay, you're now an official VR clutch Guru!!!!! Pass it on....
  25. Way back when, when I had trouble getting my clutch working, Mike suggested taking the air hose and blowing out any crystals in the clutch line. So I blew the cr*p out of it, and did get some junk out of the line. It helped. The crystals will build up just beyond the bottom hole of the master and the banjo, and can act like a check valve. They can also get up into the cylinder, and even though you've cleared the relief hole out, they'll plug back up again. I know it's frustrating, and it's tough chasing ghosts. What finally worked for me is I removed the entire clutch system and reinstalled it by the book. After the wrestling match, and getting the thing to work, I was so happy I coulda spit.... Don't give up..... Also when the pressure is up in the lines, and the clutch pack is released, you won't see much movement in the pressure plate as it's already extended as far as it'll go. Take the line off at the slave and the master, hold a rag over one end and blow through the other. Betcha you'll get crud out of the line.
