Signal light fix

At first it sounded like a great deal, and wished they made them for the 1stGens. Then I found the price list. I think I'll stick with a stock screen.

Radiator fan
Condor replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Like Steve says, put it on the center stand and let it idle. The fan should kick on just before the temp needle gets into the red zone. If it doesn't start trouble shooting. You might also think about replacing your radiator cap. It may not be holding pressure and allowing the coolant to boil. Hence the over flow problem. -
Yep somes gets there moneys worth and somes don't. 2ndGens cheep!!!

Mattcharva's 83VR project bike is coming together
Condor replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
Bob, I didn't mean that the length of your eloquent prose wore me out, it was strictly the subject matter...... The mental picture of all the work you performed was overwhelming.... It plumb tuckered me out.... -
I could be wrong, but I don't think so. The 86+'s are attached by a footman loop on the top and a strap on the bag, and I think?? the MkI's are all snaps. But then wadda I know....?

Prices for older 2nd gens
Condor replied to keithert's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The 99 is in Kelly Blue for $5700 trade in. Most go for around that in the real world, unless it's really exceptional with very low miles. Some members will argue the point, but the higher retail is from a dealer and covered by some sort of warrantee, not an 'as-is' private sale. Normally 99's seems to have around 35K-45K on the odo. 2000's and 2001's bring about a grand more per year. -
I agree. I don't bid on those auctions with a .99 opening bid, and the shipping is $40 bucks, where the shipping shouldn't run anymore than $10..... It's a sellers way too screw Ebay out of end user fees, and he's also screwing the bidder. The only guy that doesn't do that, and I have to take my hat off to is Hess4less2007. .99 cent openings with very reasonable shipping fees. I don't bid on his auctions for other reasons, but he's honest up front. And I don't think he's into having ghost bids made by imployees??? The high prices that he gets are because he has good quality stuff. That's another thing that ticks me off. The guy that puts up a rusted, busted, non-working item instead of tossing it into the dumpster. Or the guy that dismantles every item down to the individual parts and expects to get something for it when with shipping you could buy it new for less at a dealer. All in all though, I like Ebay, and have gotten some great buys. A garage full... Bidders just need to be prudent on what they're doing. Caveat Emptor. And just remember, there'll always be another one later if the bidding on the current one goes crazy.....

Your '86 is a standard. You can't manually add air to a Royal. As far as riding the bike home at 0-0 I don't see any problem as long as it's not over loaded, and don't try to get it up on the centerstand without a bit of volunteer help... There are quite a few things that could cause the CLASS not to work. Anywhere from throwing 5 different error codes, to no power, to leaks in the system somewhere. I'd suggest unplugging and plugging the power cord and bus connection a couple of times to see if might get the thing to start working again. I had one that needed a rap to get it going every once in a while. -
Nah... He lost control trying to keep up....

LOL.... Not a scratch on the '83...

Don't tell Danob11 that..... I think it also depends on the distance between stop lights.....

We never did see many whales. The boredom came from the Cruise Lines. Celebrity. Never again. We did a Caribian on NCL Norwegian, and it was a hoot. There's a lot to be said about their Free Style laid back cruising. Celebrity felt like a Greyhound Bus...

Hey Brian, You go for it. Those 1300's aren't exactely slow... MOF you pro'bley won't be able to tell the difference unless you stick it on a dyno. Besides they have more bottom end 'grunt' than a 1200 ever will have. And guys like us need all the 'haul a$$' we can get....

Yeah, wife, I, and the kids took that cruise about 2 years ago. The trip was sorta boring, but the shore activities were great. I'da posted a few pics too, but I'm not near my computor... We stopped in Jeaneu, Ketchikan, and Skagway. Plus Hubbard Glacier. We got in very close to the glacier and experienced a huge calve. 'Course I was looking to other direction and didn't get a pic....

While watching a segment of American Thunder that covered the Harley History Museum, they covered a bike that had never been released to the public called the Nova. It had a V4 water cooled motor. Very interesting......... Did a little search on Google and came up with THIS
