  1. OK, left the weight on, filled the tire with Ride-on, walked over to the garage to put the air hose away, and tweeked my back... Grrrr!!! I just popped 800 mg of motrin and will gut out the 3-4 miles suggested to spread the goo out. It never ends.....
  2. Ya know, I really have to hand it to youse guys. I can't just jump on a bike and take it for a test ride. For some reason I need to work into it before I feel comfortable enough to find out what any bike will do.
  3. That's another reason they're not doing well. Preconcieved ideas. It doesn't take long to ask, and I bet they never heard of impulse buying either.... I'd still give 'm the boot.... In the current economic climate there's an old saying that rings true, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Around here the unemployed is 7%+, but that means there are 93% of the people that still are working... Some of them even have a few bucks to spend.....
  4. As I understand it the stuff continues to finetune the balance throughout the life of the tire, but what would happen if one of the weights came off?? Would the weight difference be more than the stuff could handle??? Or would it compensate??? Would it be better to start from zero to avoid that possibility? Or is the stuff only capable of finetuning, and not capable of compensating for a heavier half ounce out of balance??
  5. Glad you got it taken care of Don....
  6. I got a question. When the preview window shows, is there a timer some where that can be set to give us more time to read the dang thing. I'd like to see it open forever.... It must be a control on the site. When on Netflix the the windows stay open as long as you're hovering over the discription.... On VRO it doesn't last long enough to read some of the longer posts.
  7. I'm about ready to dump a bottle of Ride On in the Avon on the front of the '83. My question is... Should I remove all the balancing weights and let Ride on do it's balancing act, or leave the weights on and probably get the same results?? It should work either way, but I thought I'd ask your opinion....
  8. I have one used super brace, and a couple of new group buy 'Condor' braces available if you're interested??
  9. Yes, it's the corrrect address. It's worked for everyone else, and I haven't modified it in any way since first posted. The funds are in US Dollars.
  10. That woulda been my guess...
  11. I stopped by a local Victory dealer a couple of days ago because of an ad in the paper stating all 2006,07, and '08's at cost plus fees. Thought I'd see what they were giving away. Well I walked in and looked at just about every bike... OK every bike....Victory, Triumph, Aprilla in the joint, for over 20 minutes, and not once did an employee walk up and ask if he could be of service. Since I was in the neighborhood I thought I might as well check what's new at the Kawi-Suzuki down the street. Same thing. Had a couple of parts to pick up at the Yamaha dealer and while I was in the place 2 different employee's came over to lend a hand as I kicked tires. I'f I had anything to do with the help at the Kawi or Vic dealer I'da fired their a$$es.... No wonder their sales are lacking....
  12. Only thing I put on the rack are jackets and lighter stuff. I ride one up everywhere so a duffle with clothing fits great in the passenger seat. MOF it makes for a great back rest. Trunk and saddles are filled with everyday do-dads. Spare tire..extra motor..coolant..tools...granola bars... water.
  13. I was going to suggest another way, but then deleted the message.....
  14. I thought that's what I just said in my last post?? This is a group buy that we started a couple of months ago and we haven't received the mufflers yet. At no time did I ever indicate that they were in stock, and ready to be shipped. IF you still want a set I'll need a payment via Paypal for $235 (Canada).
  15. The group has been patiently waiting for about 2 months. Me thinks you need to go back to the first post and read about everything that's been going on. We went thru the same thing with the last group buy. MAC builds to order for our 1stGen mufflers because there's so little demand. We cleaned out their existing stock the first go around. The second group had to be built to order. Rather than stick my neck out for a couple of grand I need to have most of the sets paid for in advance. When completed they are shipped to me free and I mail them out from here. So I guess there's a little misunderstanding. I don't have anything presently to ship you. I should in a couple of weeks. If that throws a wrench into your plans, and you'd like to go a different direction, that's no problem. If you'd like to wait, I'll need a payment via paypal for the amount stated in the first post in this thread.
  16. We're not trying to dilute the National, and we've tried to zero in on dates that wouldn't conflict with it and a few other functions. If it does end up being Cody, mid-June might still be a little close to the early Aug dates of the National, but good for Medford. Besides we are really looking at giving folks out west, especially those who would not be going to Arkansas no matter what, another closer summer destination. It would be great if a few mid westerners and Texans showed. Buddy???.......
  17. The dates are really dependant on the location Brad. At first we were going to put up a poll on dates, but decide we were putting the cart before the horse. In about 3 weeks or less we'll have a better idea and put up another poll with date choices. Right now, without getting real exact, the choices look like maybe mid June, late July, late Aug, or early Sept.
  18. For some of you that don't frequent the VR Rally board that often we're taking a poll on the location for Venture West V. Now's your chance to voice your opinion and vote... and it ain't even political... CLICK HERE to GO to the POLL
  19. For a MkI that's a great way to do it, but for a MkII there are more attach points and would be a plumbers nightmare. It's much better to make brackets that move the trunk back on the rack than to relocate the entire rack. Muffinman made up a set of brackets for his trunk, but they raise the trunk as well as move it rearward. For the MkI they may be the 'Z' brackets that everyone is refering to??
  20. I think?? I'll have one set left after Lonestarmedic and Thirdwheel take a set. OK, All the extra MAC sets have been spoken for. I was just informed that Timthetoolman ended up selling his bike, so if anyone else would like to jump on the bandwagon I have an extra set. PM me if you'd like to step up to the plate....
  21. The key word here is UP. For me UP screws up the lines. I want to go back without creating a big gap between the trunk and the saddle bags.
  22. I'm still looking at moving the trunk of the '91 back a few inches, but haven't come up with a neat way to do it yet. The Corbin passenger seat actually goes underneath the backrest almost to the trunk, and the space between the rider backrest and the passenger BR is only about 6 inches. I bought the Corbin off Ebay a couple years ago for the '93 project, but the '91 came along, and I think it was built for a long legged rider...which is good for me. All I know is that man it's comfortable. I just can't get anything in the passenger seat....
  23. Wouldn't it be interesting if they came out with a 2010 V4 that had 1200LT sport tourer styling.
  24. Yep, me too. Just one more thing. If a battery reads 10vdc it's basically deader than a doornail.
