  3. While reading an ad in the Classifieds I find that when I click on the members name it takes me to an empty page with profile..specs..etc. down the left side of the window, instead of taking me to the members actual profile page. Any one else having this problem??
  4. While poking around in our Classified section I saw this ad for an '88 with a bad second gear. I've never heard of this happening to a 1300 tranny before??... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1327/cat/3
  5. Maybe a previous owner or wrench put it on there by mistake????

  9. The EPA has taken it's toll on all those great chrome shops. But.... your side covers are aluminum, and you might be better off having then professionally polished. The end result in the same. I've done a few parts on some of the bikes. Attached is a pic of the passenger floorboards I had done a while back.
  10. :rotfl::rotfl:
  11. Just a thought.... If the leak still continues after all the great suggestions above, and the PO had previously used silicon to seal the cover, the metal surfaces might be suffering from silicon contamination. The first time around silicon works well as a sealant, but nothing sticks to silicon that has cured. Not even more silicon. It may be your problem??
  12. Good luck Al. You may consider riding north thru California on 99 to I-5. 395 get's kinda desolate if you need to get help. Hope everything goes smoothly though....
  13. Looks like Brad finally got his due and made Ebay. Squidley Mounts

    Why not?

    Do the math. It doesn't come close to what this spam email is proposing....
  16. Downloadable manuals are available here. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384 Check your sight glass on the side of the engine. You may be low on engine oil. Level should be between the top and bottom lines.
  17. By his profile his last activity was on the 25th.....??
  18. Nope... Just a real bad case of an insecurity complex...
  19. My '83 used to run just under the red line in hot weather. About half way during the winter. Anytime the motor is running, and there's no air flow thru the radiator it gets hot. 'Specially after a run on the slab and then sitting at the freeway exit. I did a complete flush of the system, and now the needle doesn't climb quite as quickly as it did in the past. Used he special GM orange coolant and Blue Ice water wetter....just because. It'll still run the needle up in the extremes, but with the temps running around 85° the needle will be a little above horizontal. Also it doesn't climb as quickly as it did before.
  20. If you want to replace the OEM they appear on Ebay from time to time. Otherwise I sure other board members will chime in with a few suggestions on aftermarkets....
  21. TXVenture is riding a 1stGen. They take 71psi max in the rear. They're built tuffer than a 2ndGen....
  22. Sent you an Email.
  23. Not only will the recoil reducer keep from beating your shoulder to a pulp, and your cheek from getting a razzberry. But it'll reduce the muzzle jump and keep the shooter on target better. More doubles and triples... Nice looking gun Tom. Back in the day Bernelli's were a cheap Italian import...right along with RayBan Sunglasses. Hooda thunk??
  24. I think the only reason for the direction arrows are to install the restrictor closer to the manifold. The Carb Tune instructions state the same thing. Maybe it keeps the hose from colapsing do to heavy pulses??? I've never seen the vacuum taken off the manifold other than #2. The '83's pull pre-butterfly vacuum and I don't think there's a difference in the boost sensor, but there is in the TCI and how it responds to the signal.
