I had that problem with my first Polk Soundbar when I switched from my Panasonic 50" to the newer 65" Smart. It seems the older bar didn't understand digital. Analog only. Anyway I found one of the newer Polk's in an auction and it's working great. They do make digital to analog to digital converters.

So far we've dodged the bullet here in NorCal. 65deg and sunny yesterday. Left the office door open and enjoyed the weather...

Prayers Requested for my Family
Condor replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Prayers of discernment and understanding for your family Don..... -
I know your feelings and can sympathize... $8000 for a 22K/'07/RSV is what it's worth. I gave $6,000 for my '07/RSV with 80K on it, but here's the big kicker. Who's going to buy it?? Competition on used RSV's is high, and driving prices down.. The old supply and demand rule. Also the value of all the extra bling is dictated by whether you're buying or selling. Priceless if you're selling, and not worth a damn if you're buying. I also have a '99RSV with a ton of bling on it and fairly low miles. I'd be lucky to get $4,000 for it, which is less then the retail price total of the bling.... And right now it's the wrong time of the year to be selling. 5 months from now would be best... Now keep in mind all this advise is coming from someone who only knows how to buy RSV's, and hasn't figured out how to sell them yet... :-)

84 Venture Royale CLASS problems
Condor replied to old's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The baud rate on those CLASS system chips is about 1, and slower than the second coming. I wouldn't push harder, but longer. There's also two plugs at the back of the controller. One for power and the other a larger gang plug. You seem to have power so I'd R&R the gang a few times. I can't remember if you can get to the contacts on the plug, but if you can an eraser will get rid of the 'patina' on the surfaces and give a better transfer.... -
WOW!! Nice find. I know where there's a slightly melted US dash for that thing... :-)

The 2nd Gens come with an auto type caliper that only applies pressure from one side against the rotor. 2 pistons on one side and nothing but pads on the other. The R1/R/6/Stars are equipped with calipers that have pistons on both sides. Much better braking and pad wear. I don't know why Yamaha decided to go the 2 piston route in the first place with just about everything else supplied with 4 pistons???? Even the 1stGen MK II's have four piston fronts. Thought they learned their lesson after the MK I lack of braking... Gives wonder about the R&D and Design depts smarts???...

I never listen to regular AM/FM any longer, but I'm stuck with series XM. The truck I bought used came with a lifetime subscription.. Maybe came with the audio upgrade system??. I talked to one person who spoke XM, and he said what I have is not offered any longer?? It handles my eclectic listening habits.... and did I mention it's free....

Successful Trunk Repair
Condor replied to B.E. Coyote's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Nice Job. I did much the same thing on my '91VR Tuxedo, but the damage was in an area that wasn't really visible, so rattle canned it with Krylon Semi-Flat Black... The holes were there when i bought it, and I'm still trying to figure out how in the 'H' it could have happened... -
It's not so much the accuracy but the repeat-ability that's important. This is the one I use and it didn't break the bank.... https://www.harborfreight.com/infrared-thermometer-93984.html

If memory services me correctly the coolant flow is directed to the rear V cylinders first and then thru the front V and into the radiator. Why? Because the rears run the hottest when moving. When the bike is just sitting there idling the coolant is sorta pre-heated by the rears before it passes thru the fronts. Since the motor is not generating a lot of heat the fronts will run hotter... In theory..., but in practice who the hell knows for sure???

Gasket sealer on head covers?

Gasket sealer on head covers?
Condor replied to luvmy40's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I've never had need to do this but others have. Place a washer between the valve cover seal and the head of the bolt. Since the bolt is shouldered it will only go so far before bottoming out. The washer will give a little more pressure against the cover and keep an old gasket from leaking. Should work on a new set of gaskets too. Did you know that the 2ndGen OEM valve cover gaskets work better then the 1stGen OEMs....?? -
Do i want to respond to this??? Oh hell.... The tied clutch lever 'trick' is a wives tale.... It's physically impossible to bleed the clutch and get the air out of the lines with the lever tied to the grip. I'm real intimate with the clutch system dynamics on the Ventures, and there is absolutely no way a gravity bleed will work. With the lever tied down the piston cup will move beyond the expansion hole and seal off any air passage. At rest the cup 'lip' will locate between the expansion and the fill hole. There are guys that will chime in and say it worked for them, but all it did was allow the air in the lines to accumulate up around the banjo, and if they're lucky enough not to squeeze the lever right after untying and let it sit for another hour or so, some of the air will escape thru the expansion valve hole, but not all of it. Now a vacuum bleeder could work if pumped fast enough to draw the fluid..and air out of the system. If the clutch fluid is in good condition a vacuum pump works even better because it doesn't have to move a lot of airy fluid, and just needs to draw out the old discolored fluid. One of the unique problems with bleeding the clutch is that you are dealing with a no or low pressure system and it can't be pumped hard like a brake system and then crack the bleeder valve.. kinda like rinse lather repeat... Both systems are set up the same way, it's just that the clutch doesn't deal with brake calipers and pads... Whew!! Tired of typing. Hope this makes sense to a few of you. Any questions

And.... with all due respect not all salesmen stretch the truth... Only when it comes to cars and Ventures... Nice looking scoot. The same color as the one I went to see up here in NorCal/Rocklin. Your's might even be the one I looked at?? I'm sure they left it with a dealer when the tour was over. Makes no sense trucking it back east again. Being from Hesperia it's going to be interesting how it handles the heat. Keep us posted on your experiences..

Heck yeah I remember that place... Something like Eagles Nest??maybe?? Around MT Hood. And those 'WET' fries were awesome. The fact that they were free was even awesome'r... As soon as the Video started I knew where youse guys were. I was gonna say Butter Pecan ice cream, but I was wrong.. First time this year.. :-) So Banana Nut is it?? I haven't seen Lonesome Rider in a couple of years. I did get an email from Doris over something political a year or so ago. But Rick is AWOL... That's fancy Latin for lost.. Haven't seen him in a couple of years, but he's been like that since I've known him. He'll come up for air one of these days... Glad to hear your doing OK. 7 days without a post makes one weak...
