  1. Nice trailer, but it still hasn't hit reserve....
  2. Stick to dino oil. Synthetics are great on a new engine, but on older engines it will start to leak everywhere. Make sure the oil does not have 'friction modifiers'. I've used Rotella 15-40, and Valvoline 20-50 in my '83 and they work just fine.
  3. I guess you could create buffer bank accounts and register them with Paypal. Also use a credit card with a low credit line. Just for paypal fees only. Transfer monies from the bank account registered with paypal to another account that isn't registered with them. That way any charge backs go at accounts with little or no money??? Seems like a lot of trouble tho-....
  4. Get a can of SeaFoam in it before it quits.....
  5. When I export items anywhere, I don't guarantee delivery. I do guarantee that it's been consigned to the shipper, and back it up with receipts etc. But once out of the country there isn't really any control over it getting though. That said, I've never had an item not make it...knock on wood... In the case of an OB motor going to Dubai last month, I wouldn't even arrange shipping. The onus was on the buyer to arrange shipping. Right now I'm working on a shipment to Cartagena Panama. Not sure what I'm going to do with this one as shipments going south of the boarder have a high rate of vaporization...

    To Trike or Not

As we get older our ability to balance starts to be effected. Some sooner than others. I think that if you start to bang into wall while walking around, or occassionally lose your balance, might be a pretty good indication. I think that if you're seriosly thinking about a trike, anything with a reverse would be a smart move. Trying to push a 1200 pound bike out of even a slightly downhill parking space ain't fun. There are ways to overcome the lack of a reverse...coast backwards into the space... park dowhill and away from other vehicles.. etc. Riding in the twisties won't be as much fun, but slabbing it could be great.
  7. It might be in a wire. Since it works every once in a while while riding, when you have the bike running on the sidestand, start shaking wires around and see if you can physically get the problem to appear or disappear. If may be a pinched/crushed wire??
  8. I used to work for these guys back in another lifetime... Anyway they have a branch right in Seattle. KEYSTON BROS They might be able to supply you with some leads.
  9. The Cruise has it's own vacuum pump and doesn't use engine vac.
  10. Dirty Guys!!!!!
  11. While reading an ad in the Classifieds I find that when I click on the members name it takes me to an empty page with profile..specs..etc. down the left side of the window, instead of taking me to the members actual profile page. Any one else having this problem??
  12. While poking around in our Classified section I saw this ad for an '88 with a bad second gear. I've never heard of this happening to a 1300 tranny before??... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1327/cat/3
  13. Maybe a previous owner or wrench put it on there by mistake????
  14. It's listed here...... http://www.venturerider.org/modules/history/index.php#Colors%20by%20Year

  17. The EPA has taken it's toll on all those great chrome shops. But.... your side covers are aluminum, and you might be better off having then professionally polished. The end result in the same. I've done a few parts on some of the bikes. Attached is a pic of the passenger floorboards I had done a while back.

  19. Just a thought.... If the leak still continues after all the great suggestions above, and the PO had previously used silicon to seal the cover, the metal surfaces might be suffering from silicon contamination. The first time around silicon works well as a sealant, but nothing sticks to silicon that has cured. Not even more silicon. It may be your problem??
  20. Good luck Al. You may consider riding north thru California on 99 to I-5. 395 get's kinda desolate if you need to get help. Hope everything goes smoothly though....
