  1. I can't get them to enlarge either.......
  2. If you're just looking for something to hold the chrome covers on the reserves, I'd suggest getting a 2-part thread repair kit at your local auto parts store. It doesn't take a ton of torque to hold the covers on.... http://www.statesupply.com/displayCategory.do?cuid=FP_MS_Epoxy
  3. Check the three white wire connector before doing anything else. They get corroded and over heat, lose it's connection, and causing the stator not to work. There's a ton of info on the subject here on this board. Do a search for 3 or three white. Also put a multi-tester on the battery posts while it's running. You should get 14vdc to 14.2vdc when the engine rmp is over 2000. If you are getting output you have a bad battery. After that it's replacing the rectifyer or stator.
  4. Works fine here too. I wonder if the has the switch thrown to ignor the website colors in his browser set up??
  5. Hey, I'm peddlin' and fast as I can.... In 25 years I'll be pushin' 93 and something tells me I won't be riding a VR any longer. I'll let someone younger, enjoy the rush!! And replace the starter.
  6. I still ain't gonna live that long....
  7. Yea!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Personally I don't know what the big deal is about the 2-brush and 4-brush staters. I look at it this way, the OEM '83 2-brush starters are lasting 25years plus, why would anyone need to stuff a 4-brush in there to begin with?? I ain't gonna live that long.......
  9. Hey JT, I know how ya feel pard.... It's just a sign of getting older.... and WE take longer to heel... You'll be up and about before long. Hang in there...
  10. LOL... Yeah didn't notice that. Must be dual citizenship....
  11. I donno Mike, Sounds like a project or parts bike to me?? Even if the carbs were done, it's been sitting, so they may need to be smoozed again. With all the other issues, $2500 is way too much for that one... IMHO...
  12. Maybe this is what you're looking for...
  13. Probably never will JT. The Dk blue is out of a spray can, and a really bad job. The side covers are powder blue and even worse. I don't think the guy has ever heard of masking tape.... Beware:whistling:.... it's getting close to Holloween.... http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/img/holidays/halloween/witch3.gif
  14. Once a year we make the ride to LUDY's in Woodland Ca. We do our own BBQ, no help from anyone back east.
  15. Here's a few pics of the gang doing what we do best.....
  16. Yep, topped off the scoot this morning. $2.99. No relief for the weary. But then Ca is always seems to be .50 cents higher than the rest of the nation.
  17. Yeah, I thought of that. The only thing that makes me think it's the word proccessor on the board is it only happens on this board. I have one other MC board that I occassionally post to, and 2-3 fishing boards. None of them do it. I'm running SP pro Media. Even when I'm in a secure billing area, like UPS or USPS, filling out info, and briefly need to go somewhere else the info is retained. When I'm typing here I don't have any problems as long as I stay on the page and use the TAB function to check on something... Like I said it's not a real big deal, except when I screw up and accidently hit something I'm not supposed to and haven't copied. Then it's !@#$@#$#$%$.
  18. I had that happen to me once. I had a rare collectable fishing reel that I listed and a guy in Las Vegas was the high bidder at $350. He was a flake and never paid. So I went ahead and relisted the reel and this time the winning bidder was in Hawaii, and it went for $450!!.... :-) Sometimes things do go right...
  19. Everythings working great for me. My pet peeve is that if I happen to accidently hit the wrong key, and go to another webpage while typing, everything I typed is gone when I return and I need to start over again. Get really pissed off if it's a long type. On long responses I've started copying to the clipboard in case something happens. That way I don't loose it all if I do. This is the only board where this has ever happened.
  20. No, Thank God, they helped me load it in the PU, but when unloading it I had to grunt it into the house all by my lonesome. Dang thing was like a refridgerator.
  21. I am having a bit of trouble finding any history on the clock. It's an Emperor, and they went out of business in the mid '90's. The last owner still has a few clocks available on the web at their Virginia outlet. Emperior made kits, and sold complete clocks. The problem is I can't find any reference to one built like this one with the moon phase, second hand, and the chimes being 9 tuned brass tubes. I don't think this one is a kit as it's too nicely finished, and the only time I find any other makers clocks like this one the dang prices are up in the $12,000 to $23,000 dollar range. I don't think this one is up in that catagory, but it does have all the buttons and whistles...
  22. Thanks for the offer Mike, but I think I'm gonna keep it a bit longer.....
  23. I like clocks. Not so much that I have walls covered with them, but I do appreciate nice ones. I've always wanted one of the Grandfather Clocks, but they were always way beyond my budget. Welll.... I played hooky from church and went to an estate auction last Sunday. I went to bid on some nautical Brass Lanterns for the biz., and they had a couple of rifles that I thought I'd take a run at. They also had this really good looking grandfather, but I figured it would go via the way of all the others, and sell for too much money. Long story short, I got the lanterns, a really nice hall mirror, passed on the rifles...they went for way more than they were worth, and the grandfather... Ended up getting it for $175 bucks... and it works. Even the wife likes it, after I got up enough nerve to tell her about it... Attached is a pic. Curious if anyone else has a grandfather clock.??
  24. Keeping it simple, like stated above '86-'93, also refereed to as MkII's. '83-'85's are MkI's. The closer to '93 and the lower miles the better. Anything in an '85 over serial # 1413 has an interesting set up in that they have the stronger second gear, larger trunk, and all 3 pieces of luggage are key lock removable. Kinda the best of both worlds...
