  1. I think it depends on how sophisticated you want the site to be. If it just going to be for information then you could probably do it yourself. If you're looking for a lot of pazazz it will probably be better to have someone do it for you. I put together my biz site using Front Page. Started with FP98, and I think I've been using FP2002 for a while now. It's a wyswig.. 'what you see is what you get' type editor, and operates like any word processoing editor. It does all the html coding in the background. The cost to register your site depends on who you deal with. I use http://www.internic.net/ for www.Cast-Aways.com , and it runs $99 bucks for 5 years. You'll also need to find a Host for your site. I use Earthlink.net and it's $14.95 per month. You can find cheaper hosts, but I've had several over the years and Earthlink is by far the best in the customer service dept. Hope this helps.
  2. I'm just a one machine home office set up, but I've been running Trend PC-Cillan for close to 10 years, and it's bullet proof. The first time the virus checker ran me $29 bucks, and lasted for 5 years with auto updates. Now I have the full firewall and it's around $40 bucks per year. Highly recommended...
  3. Let us know what you come up with Squeeze. JB already contacted the ebay seller and he stated that he can only get 1 set at a time.... which I think is BS, and as long as he can controll the market he can make a ton.... Kinda like Big Oil... Someone has to be making these in quantity, and unless he has the distribution rights to the US.. which I doubt.. we should be able to go direct with a group buy. And I bet they don't cost more than a couple of bucks apiece. I tried your link for the Japanese company and it came up as a bunch of jiborish. Probably because of the Kanji based figure writing.
  4. We took a tour of the Corbin factory on the way to SLO last summer, and I asked the gal heading up the tour about their seats being so hard. Her reply was that's the only way they are made... So it sounds like they have 'given' a little....
  5. If you settle on an RJ-Air call me. I may be able to help. I have 2 ea red; 1 Large, and 1 medium. Also 2 whites; 1/lg and 1 sm. These 4 shoei's are the last of a large group of helmets I picked up at an auction last year. I've reduced the price down to $95 bucks plus shipping to clean 'm out..
  6. I've had a couple come apart. Maybe they were pried apart in the past at some time, and if they were just pushed back together they will come apart again.... For the most part the keepers are permanently installed and not meant to be seperated.
  7. Nice write up Earl. One question. To get the old diaphragms off, did you just pull out one edge and the rest came along for the ride?? My concern would be to get the entire diaphragm out without tearing and leaving pieces in the groove between two plastic keepers... Most of the diaphragms I've seen have those two keepers pressed together pretty tight, and donn't give much space to get that inner lip out of the groove.
  8. Ya know, that doesn't look outta place at all. Has someone already done that, or is it direct from photoshop???
  9. Yep, and I love my PITA 1stGen!! And your point is??? :rotf:
  10. Never....
  11. Thanks for the pics Earl. One point. Your drain should be in the 'off' position or you're by-passing the thermostat... 'Course you knew that...huh??
  12. Holy Cr@p!!! And I thought the 1stGens were a PITA to get to....

    arm rests

Well it's up to $120 bucks. I'm out...before I was ever in.... I need a varmint scope for my 222Rem more than I need a set of arm rests....
  14. Did anyone else catch the news about Warren Buffet loaning..investing? 600 big ones to Harley at 15% interest. Sounds like loan sharking to me?....
  15. I agree with the toll roads, but it's a long ride of probably 150+ miles to go from SF to the north penninsula via the freewqay system... and it ain't purdy... than cough up the $12-$15 bucks to go over the 1/2 mile Golden Gate Bridge. They got us by the nads... I wonder if we could get the bridge authorities to issue MC exemptions.... Nah!!!
  16. When riding in hot weather, it's more important to sip fluids during the ride than stopping every hour and a half and guzzle a Desanti. If it's 105+ and you're not feeling the heat while riding, your wicking moisture out of your body like crazy. In an hour and a half you can become very dehydrated.

    arm rests

I already have the link saved and will take a shot at them if they don't go too high. So don't let me stop anyone from doing the same thing....
  18. Around here they charge by the extra axles. One axle trailer is double, and a tandem axle is triple the base cost. Some of our bridges are now charging $4 bucks per, and I think the Golden Gate is $5. A tandem trailer will bump you up to $12-$15 bucks.
  19. When you go over a toll bridge, or onto a Tollway, do they charge you extra for the trailer behind the scoot?? I've never pulled a bike trailer over one of our toll bridges here in NorCal, but when pulling my inclosed tandem trailer they charge more than twice than what just my pickup would cost. Pisses me off!! Thought it would be interesting to disconect it and push it thru the toll booth. We also have toll free car pool lanes that allow bikes at certain times during the day. I wonder if the free-b would also include towing a trailer???
  20. I'm wondering if an RSV will fit in a 8' trailer if the front wheel is turned to the stop and it's loaded caddy corner??? BTW a V nosed trailer is still the same length as a non-V on the inside. The builders can take an 6'er, add a V nose and call it a 8'er and charge more. So in retrospect a 10' V is actually an 8'. The only thing the V accomplishes is cut down on wind resistance. Confoosed?? No... Well I am... Buy a 10 foot standard trailer and be done with it.....
  21. I think there's a key from the '83 in there.....somewhere...
  22. Fowled plug. SeaFoam has a tendency to do that.... All the varnish has to go somewhere. Put in new plugs and I bet she'll fly again....
  23. :thumbsup2:
