I remember the post, but not the poster. He put a set of glass-paks on his 1stGen, and bent an adapter from the collector to the muffler. He also posted a video. Not sure if it's still available on the board. I've never seen an adapter available on the aftermarket. And you can chrome anything for a price... Good luck.

Thanks for the link...it's a keeper. Here's a couple more that might help. On the radar use the arrows to get to your area and then save it to favorites... http://weather.unisys.com/satellite/sat_ir_enh_hem_loop-12.html http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=dax&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=yes

Ride-On will not balance a tire. It will fine tune the balance of a tire once it has been balanced normally. When I put RO in the Avon on the front of the '83, the front seemed to run smoother, and seemed to have slightly less viabration up through the grips, which was fairly light to begin with. Don't know if it was all in my head or.....??

About 15 years ago these were the hot ticket in the marine industry. They also do biz with the USAF so they're probably be the best source of info about mil specs. http://www.lifelinebatteries.com/

Interesting. I tried a Made-in-China UB12180 Universal AGM last summer, and it didn't work as well as the Odyssey PC680, but for $40 bucks I thought I'd give it a try... It wasn't a bad battery...it just didn't have the poop of the Odyssey. I'll probably relegate it to an emergency break away battery for the trailer. They did have another battery listed that actually was listed as a PC680 for about the same price as the PowerMax in the link. I'm wondering if the PMX is M-I-C?? The one in the link seems to be rated higher than the Odyssey, and if it's a larger battery that will fit the battery box better. It may be worth a try...

Possible VR Directory of the Best Restaurants visited by the VR Members
Condor replied to Yama Mama's topic in Watering Hole
I think our very own resturant list would be great. I checked your link and did a search for Susanville Ca., and it gave me a ton of eateries in Northern California, but nothing in Susanville. Gotta put the Black Bear Resturant in Susanville on 'our' list..... Oh yeah... Margies in San Luis Obispo:thumbsup2: I think one of the requirements for the list is that the member has to have eaten there. Not hearsay off some TV show.- 48 replies

Major Improvement in my 84
Condor replied to 5bikes's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Glad you got things squared away. Different rubber compounds will effect how a tire 'attacks' the road surface. Hard compounds will not be affected by grooves, and slip over them, while a tackier more agressive compound will pick up every road imperfection out there. Sometimes increasing or decreasing tire pressures can make a difference. It's a trade off. Hard high wear, or softer and more traction. -
LOL For $59 bucks, or the cost of taking your wife out for a steak dinner, it's good for intertainment value if nothing else. And it all depends on what you want to compare it to, and how much you need all the buttons and whistles of the $500+ units....

Crank Case Vent Upgrade!
Condor replied to skydoc_17's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
There's always be a bit of blow-by that'll come out of the crankcase naturally without having to suck it out. All that hose does is take the blow-by fumes and run them back through the engine and burn them. In days of yore, engines with the old breather pipes did just fine, and I don't think I've ever heard of an engine going balistic on one of the old open crank pre-c.a.r.b. engines due to impurities. The recovery E.G.R. valve was the first attempt to get rid of those mosquito abatement fumes from old worn out engines. And I have several california bikes that quilaify for later EPA gas recovery canisters. All the canisters all gone. Removed by the first owners. So I don't see any problem letting the engine run with neutral atmospheric pressure, and I guess if the powers to be start checking for smog compliance, I can always put the hose back on. And yep, I just spent $1300 bucks getting a couple of sensors replaced before I could get the suburban registered the last time around. I hate C.A.R.B...... -
Crank Case Vent Upgrade!

That's a lot better way to handle that vent hose Earl. I don't know about you but my hands are so big that getting in there to get that D@mn hose reconnected after R&Ring the carbs is a PITA. Keep up the tinkering... You're doing good. -
Don't know how long this is going to last, but I bought one. Just because.... http://www.woot.com/

So this is normal and the economy has nothing to do with it???
-
I just noticed that there are a bunch of 2ndGens on Ebay right now. Quite a few more than normal. On the other hand 1stGen listings have almost dried up. I guess the economy is taking it's toll for those that are stroking payments. Tough times.... Scary times........

Shoulda retired a couple of years ago when things were a bit rosier. A few of us were treated to a tour of the Hollister plant last summer on the way to VWIV. Fasinating place. Maybe the new owners will make 'm a bit softer....
