I'd just measure the width of the holes in the plate, and the length you're gonna need to go over the frame rail and get a nut to fit. BTW I'd also invest in some stainless self locking type nuts and washers. I can't remember, but I think?? the u-bolts are 5/16th?? I also noticed that Rustoleum has a rubber based rattle can paint out, and I'd spray the hell out of that plate before installing. I had to repaint some of the parts before installing my rig. Rust and debree take their toll.. My 2¢ I wonder what happened to @Eck??

So if I didn't so much damn 'STUFF' or the money to have Chip Foose lay hands on it, or the bucks to buy it in the first place.... I'd be their huckleberry.. :-) CAMERO SS 396 Click for Auction

I think I'd go the stainless route. Might be mo' money, but ya never have to worry about things getting ugly.... But that's coming from an old sailor...

Dan I bet you can get those u-bolts from McMaster-Carr. https://www.mcmaster.com/#u-bolts/=1besvk4 When the weather gets warmer I'll get out there and measure what I have...

I'm not sure what all this ranting and raving about a 1stGen being on a trailer is all about.... But mine said NOPE!! when I asked her.. Didn't bother her a bit However appease the desire to see a 2ndGen on one....here ya go.. And I asked 7of9 the same question... she said NOPE Dude, didn't bother her a bit.

When I first messed with mine I had to call MTC and I talked to somebody. Nice guy..very helpful. I was looking to buy another left side leaf spring bracket that mounted on those four studs where the drive shaft inters the final. I bent mine up while thinking I knew it all... The guy suggested I just put it in a vice and straighten it out. That's what he'd do... Maybe I got someone out in the shop instead of the office?? The deal was that mine was an '06 and they had redesigned the bracket and the older style wasn't being made any longer.. So anyway I beat the snot out of it, painted it, put it back on, and it works fine... :-)

1St Gen - That pesky tiny oil leak
Condor replied to videoarizona's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but another area that will leak is the 'o' ring seal behind the gear indicator... The indicator doesn't just screw onto the block, but actually fits in about a 1" hole in the block with an 'o' ring for a seal. -
You're gonna like working for yourself. It'll take some getting used to, but the rewards are your's not someone else's. You're a pretty smart guy and I have no doubt like all things you put your mind to that you'll be successful again... Health insurance is one of the problem's I've dealt with for over 30 years, but I've always found a way to take care of the family. I'm sure you will too... Good luck and God speed...

Yeah, it will be amazing, but as long as I'm on this side of the green I'll still hold on to some STUFF.....

Glad to see it's up and runing again. Wish you lived closer....

So the rest of the story is??? So on the third day she fixed you lunch and you can't find the wrench??? :-) Yeah me too... sigh!!

Both of my '83VR's are gone, but nothing else. I think you hit the nail on the head. I didn't have a lot growing up. My Dad had a heart attack when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade, and Mom was the bread winner for most of my early years. My folks did a great job under the circumstances but it didn't include 'Toys'. Dad was the only guy I know who could squeeze a nickle and get two dimes out of it.... So we didn't starve. I guess that's why my brother and I were into sports so much, and hey, it put me through college on a scholarship. So now there's a great psych need to play catch-up..

That actually is a very scary thought... I'd probably be like Carbon One and fill it with more 'STUFF'. What I failed to mention is my garage is at max-density and so are my four enclosed trailers. 8x16, 8x14, 7x14, 6x12.... Added up they're about the size of another garage. I bought the 8x16 to use as a storage for my three RSV's. Yeah....Sure!! So I picked up a larger 13x20 Shelter Logic Tent Garage to keep 'm covered during the winter. Now it'll be a chore getting them back out. So I figured I'd pick up another slightly smaller tent, and move the 'STUFF' over to it. HA!! I have a 36'x24' slab with another 14'x66' slab adjacent to it. I have about 15 feet by the back gate that's not covered with something. Oh yeah... the 5x10 utility trailer is parked on it... Oh, did I mention I have a 30' sailboat sitting on another slab, and a 22' Four Winns cuddy cabin on a trailer sitting in the grass because I've run out of cement. I need to have an Estate Sale.... before the kids call a shrink....

While sitting here at the 'put, I got to thinking. How do we know we have too much STUFF...?? #1 Something breaks and you have the part and tools to fix it,... but it takes you all day to find them. # 2 While searching for the tool you run into a lot of neat stuff and you can't remember where it came from. # 3 You have a family reputation of having 3 of everything. #4 You have reached MAX DENSITY and have no place to store that item you just picked up in a garage sale. #5 You buy anything if it's cheap enough whether you need it or not, because someday you might?? And... one day you wake up and Realize you are a HOARDER!!! :crying:

Rear Brake caliper for RSV
Condor replied to videoarizona's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
i think that's Rick Buttler... It put kinda a delay on the reaction time. Slows your jamb time down so your brain can kick into gear.... :-) -
Rear Brake caliper for RSV
Condor replied to videoarizona's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I guess the question would be why do you need one? However that said how about a 1stGen-MKII?? Don't know if it would fit, but it might??
