A lot of standard venture owners have installed a complete AM/FM/CD in the left faring. I think if you check around the GM used parts yards you might find a CD player only out of a late model suburban that may fit.???

If your side rails are high enough for the straps to clear the fairing off the grips one of these isn't neccessary. CANYON DANCER. Otherwise if your tie points are too low you'll end up possibily messing your fairing up. 4 attachment points. Both grips and two off the bags guards keeps the rear from hopping around. An MC wheel chock in the front will keep everything where it belongs.

If you find the ignition switch in the box of little things, the key number is on the backside of the housing... Otherwise drilling out the pop rivets on the hinges will allow you access to the back of the key lock. Maybe you'll get lucky...

Engine heat will cause the fluid to expand. If it doesn't have anywhere to go it will start putting pressure on the pressure plate and the clutch will start slipping. When it's cold the slip may not happen. The sight glass should show fluid about half way. Take some out and see what happens.

I think I'd move those bikes away from each other......

One of two problems. Your reserve is too full, or you haven't bled the brakes in a long time, and there's crystals plugging up the expansion hole at the base of the reserve.

I'd be at a desided disadvantage.... I can't get into mine to take pics.... But I can try....

One more issue to resolve

It's probably a cold solder joint, or a bad pot. Personally I'd keep checking Ebay for another unit???- 2 replies

A couple of BBQ's, a couple of M&E's, And Cody...

Welcome to the board Midnight... The bank was probably using an older book. The current values for the 2000MM, from Kelly and NADA, are 8450/5800 and 7285/5540. The first number is dealer retail and the second is trade in, and these are averages. In this economy the closer a seller gets to the trade in value, the better the chances of selling their bike..... For a bike with a hundred thou on the odo, they need to be very flexible....

How many will buy carb diaphragms
Condor replied to Freebird's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Reiny, the only way a dealer sells the diaphragms is as an assembly. Way too much money. It was my understanding that you'd been talking to Sirus about a group quantity buy of the diaphragm rubbers only, in sets of four. It shouldn't be that hard to call Sirus and ask what kind of a price they charge for an order of 100 sets.... Of course they'll sell to you. They auction exhaust gaskets direct off Ebay all the time. I also thought the idea of bringing them to a member south of the boarder and having them mailed out in the US. Shouldn't cost more than a $1US for each set.- 57 replies

Interesting concept. Different.. Just make sure that the bed is really secure in the upright position while traveling. That thing coming loose while on the freeway could mess up your whole day. Personally I'd stick with the ramp gate.

Here's a Millinium listed right here in our classifieds. Is this the one you're asking about???

I could never reconnect the cables when the carbs were installed...or get them off for that matter.. Finally found that I needed to reconnect the cables with the carbs off.... then install them. It's the only way to get the stop and cable onto the cam in the middle. Can't remember what it does, but it doesn't matter. BTW conect the stopper first and then slip the cable and cover into the holder... that's what the slot is for. Hope it helps..

If anyone's interested I have a very nice Brand New set of First Gear rain gear that I hate to admit.. is too small at 3X. I picked the set up from a local auction last year and just yesterday tried on the jacket. No go... I guess it's gotta be 5x for me before I head to Cody this year. I could get the 3x on, but it woulda been nice to breathe.... Anyway if you're in the 1x to 2x size range, and have $60 bucks. I'll send them on. Includes shipping. PM me....

Reiny, Why don't you ask what the discount would be for 100+ sets, and then find out what kind of response you'll get. A lot of folks are interested if the price is reasonable. Since the price is the most important thing maybe we should get that first. I think you'll get a lot more... or not.. responses that way. There area a lot of 1stGen's runing around out here, as well as as few older 2ndGen's... I don't know if they're the same dimention... but I bet Squeeze knows... It's much better to work toward a goal once all the facts are in. Many thanks for all the work you've done on this so far..- 57 replies

Just purchsed an 88VR - need clutch advice
Condor replied to Evan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Every one seems to have their own idea of how to get the clutch bled. The air is a PITA to get out of the clutch lines and slave due to it's design. With the master so much higher than the slave the air bubles willl always want to rise to the master. Because you can't apply compression like you can in a brake system you end up forcing a little fluid in the lines and the bubbles go down toward the slave. By the time you're able to pump again the air has started to rise again. It's a never ending cycle. The air will continue to rise and stay suspended in the lines. You can't really speed up the pumping process. Pump a little in and by the time you reload for another shot of fluid the bubbles are back where they were before. It's tough to get them out of the system. Here's my solution, takes about 15 minutes, and it works every time. Basically it's forcing the DOT 3 or 4 up the clutch lines from the bleeder valve on the slave, thru the slave, and up into the reserve. Since air will naturally rise in the lines, it's almost impossible to force the air down thru the lines, thru the slave, and out the bleeder valve. There are several different ways to accomplish reverse bleeding, but they all do the same thing. i.e. force the fluid from the bleeder valve on the slave up into the reserve. With a standard OEM valve you can just loosen it, attach a clear plastic tube for a visual, and use what ever method you can conger up as an injection tool... Everyone seems to have their own method for this. I personally use one of those rubber ear bulbs. Since I have a speed bleeder installed I have to remove it. With the top of the master reserve removed start forcing fluid into the lines, being carefull not to force so much in that it overflows the reserve bowl. You can actually hear the air bubble out. It won't take long, but once no more air can be heard, lock down the bleeder valve and you're good to go. Make sure that the reserve isn't over full when you button things up.
