Be my guest.......

The planing committee of this years Round-Up Cody have tossed around a couple of different places for Round-Up 2010, but we've been waiting for the National to finalize a date so we won't conflict. Once the National's been settled we'll start getting serious.... This year when we went over the BearTooth pass and there was a ton of construction going on, and we weren't able to stop at the top for the 'hero' pics. We did get some great stuff at rest stops before and after, but missed the big panoramas.... You might want to check on road conditions before planing your trip.

I'll second that. NCL is a fun cruise with their 'Freestyle' theme. We did the Carribian 5 years ago with NCL and it was a hoot!! The family did Alaska with Celebrity 3 years ago and it sucked. The on-shore activities were great, but the on-board was boring as 'H'. The wife is leaving friday for a Mexico Cruise on NCL for her 50th HS Reunion. I volunteered to watch the kids while she's gone. She's taking all our older girls with here so there's no one around to call in case I go bananas.....

I love Harley's..... They're so tiny and cute.... :rotfl:

They don't give a damn. The buyer is still paying the freight. Too bad it's not an option and the buyer could pass on it.... As far as in cost goes, they're just dumping old stock that wouldn't be able to get rid of otherwise...

The R1's from about 1999 to 2003 are a direct bolt on for the MarkII's. On the MKI's you will need to swap out the forks and rotors with MKII's. -
I like Silver...Corvettes, n' Black Cherry... Stratoliners, n' Black..... RSV's... OR is it Black Cherry RSV's and Black Corvettes...., and Silver Strats??? I'm so confused....

old exhaust collector replacement
Condor replied to Thom's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'd suggest taking an old 1gen collector and matching the position of the ports on the bench. Can't be all that difficult. Anyone have a worn out collector?? I even wonder if it's neccessary to use the two mounting bolts that the oem collector uses. As far as using a second gen for a model the exhaust runs outboard on the 2gen and inboard on the 1gen. They even had to change the exhaust port angle out of the heads for the redesign. -
Well... Mark's is the aftermarket collector that has gone over the hill on pricing.. What I was thinking about is to just mimic the collector with straight tubing between the front headers and the mufflers, with the rear header joined in somewhere along the middle. More of a 2 into 1 connector.

The stainless lines are something I've wanted to do.....but I just can't justify the bucks they want for the lines..... The 4 piston R1 calipers definitely make a huge difference. I just think using HH's all around might do more harm than good by making the system too powerfull causing the brakes to lock up easier in a panic situation. Not that I'd ever get into an OS situation.... -

No the system is still linked... That's kinda why I'm wondering if I need an HH on the left side since I'm braking with the front and back?? -
Ok here's what I need a little input on. I've changed over the forks on the '83 and put on R1 calipers. And they worked very well in Cody and over the BearTooth. I'm thinking about using an HH brake pad on the right caliper and a sinistered on the left. I do have one set of HHs, but thought I'd ask for some input before going out and buying something for the left. The HH will definately increase left stopping power, but do I need it on both sides?? Whatcha think.

Has anyone ever replaced the collector with straight tubes and a crossover?? I know about the aftermarket collector, but it'll give you a nose bleed just looking at the price... Does the 2ndGen have a collector?? Or crossover??

Thanks, but too many hoops to jump thru to play.

Geeze, now I'm getting confused. The one in the pdf file that Rocket posted for the '86 is a long bolt. In the one I took the pic of, the bolt's only about 3" long and screws into that larger cross piece. I may not have what I thought was an '88 swingarm/shock assembly. Gary, if the one I have is the one you need I'll send it to you, but I just wanna make sure.... OK I just took a look at swing arm assemblies from an '83, '86, and 88. There is a difference between the '88 and '86, and I do have the '88. Now I don't know if they're interchangable or not, but as it looks right now there is a difference. Anyone know if they're interchangeable?? The '88 looks a lot beefier....

This one???

OK Gary. Which one do you need? The 6" one that fits in the yoke, or the smaller one up on the frame and near the dampner adjustment end??. I have the long one.

Mine will stick once in a while after sitting for a long period. Before starting rock the bike back and forth in neutral a bit to loosen things up before pressing 'the' button.... I'd also think about bleeding the brake fluid if you haven't done so in a while....
