Me Too, Bob... They've had all my business for over 40 years for much the same reasons, but when I tried to get the '83 covered I got a quote of $819 bucks per year. And that was for minimum 15/30 coverage. Scared the cr@p out of me... Geico gave me 100/300 with everything for $125 for the entire year. Guess who I went with?? Been with Geico ever since. They even paid a claim on the stolen trailer, and didn't see an increase.

To this day I still like Westerns most of all. 'The Outlaw Josey Wales', and 'Quigley Down Under' are two of my favorites, but even the old ones from the 40's and 50's grab me. I also like SciFi's... Not the horror kind, but futuristic space type videos. Toss in a period sailing flick.. i.e. 'Master Commander', and I'm a happy camper..... Action Adventure. Everything else puts me to sleep... Zzzzzzz...... -
I use a single stage RCBS too. Actually a couple of A2's. One for sizing and de-priming, and one for a seating. That way I don't have to keep changing the dies out. They were cheep enough. I think both were under $40 bucks. The last one was rode hard and put away wet, so had to recondition it. Replaced all the fasteners with stainless...

You might take a look at a Navy Arms Uberti Colt Bisley copy... whew!! That was a mouth full... :-) The Uberti is a copy of the original Colt, while the Ruger except for the lowered thumb spur doesn't come close..and I'm a Ruger guy... The grip is the biggest difference and the Colt has a much more pronounced birds head. The first 900 or so Colt Bisley's were originally designed to be used as a target gun and named after the Bisley England matches. It later morphed into a prized guns by folks across the US because of it's accuracy and comfort. Never for use in competition. My 2¢ PS: The original Bisleys bring 20 grand or more on the used market... Thank God for Italy... :-)

Very nice 686. I'm planning on getting a few grips from Altamont. I have some black walnut that I'd like to have carved and thought I'd give them a call to see if they use the customers wood?? Is your 686 a Pro Center? Wonder because of the ported bbl.. Here's my 686-3 just 'cause this thread is morphing into a show'n'tell... :-)

WHAAATTT ?? They have a trigger?? I thought they were autos?? -
I'm still with Geico for over 10 years now. When I first tried to get ins. on the '83 I got a 6mo. quote from State Farm that was ridiculous. I then shopped around on the net and found a Progressive loaded for $175.. Cool!! Then just for the heck of it I looked at Geico. Same coverage. $125. Really Cool!! Then the second year's renewal went down to $96. So that's the way I went, and happy I did due to Progressive's political stance. Since then I have had up to 3 RSV's insured for about $750/yr., and now am down to the '04RSV/Voyager for $250/yr. So I don't have any complaints.... My big complaint is Kalifornia. My registration renewal just jumped $100 bucks on the '04.

I'm a gun guy, but in this thread subject I really feel inadequate... Out of all the handguns I own I have what I consider to be my go-to token auto.. It's not small and dainty, it's not beautiful, but it get's the job done. If the poop hits the paddle I don't have to sit there thinking oh my!! which gun should I use?? It's a full size S&W 5904 blued in 9mm with a couple of 10 round mags... I recently watched an NRA program about the FBI armory and their testing of the 9mm vs. the 45, and they came to the conclusion that there is no difference in effectiveness between the two, and are now supplying their field agents with 9mm's. Again....

The designation usually comes from a model change and isn't actually written on the gun. Well sometimes they'll give it a dash + mk after the serial number, but with a 10 round mag yours is a 1. If it has the better trigger it's a 2. -
Hmmm... Never even gave that a thought before... In the old days when gas prices started to rise people were turning off the pump and then draining the hose. The next guy to use the pump always got stuck with a couple of cents when he lifted the lever and the hose filled... I don't think that can be done any longer with the newer nozzles. Anyway it still didn't take much to fill the hose back up. The ambient regular left from the last delivery can't be all that much, and by the time it get's diluted in the tank it's gotta be insignificant... And the cost has to be figured on the difference between the two grades, not the entire gal price... Good thought tho-....

I love auctions in general, but one with MC gear is tops. We had much the same thing for one here in Sacramento about 10 years ago. I bid my a$$ off. 10 Shoei helmets at $10 bucks per. Two full sets of leathers... in my size!!...for $35 each. A whole display of gremlin bells. plus a ton of do-dads. I still run into a do-dad every so often... Hope you have a great time...

When I was looking, the Ruger 22 combo was my first choice, but I just couldn't justify $600 they bring at auction... in blue. Almost damn retail.. They're very popular. Yours is the first stainless I've seen besides the pics on their website. Great leather too.. So I settled for the Navy Arms to scratch the itch.... :-) -
Rio Viento is almost in Vic's back yard and closer to Antioch. Walnut Grove is farther up river... Know the area well. Sailed by the place many times when doing the delta run on the sailboat, and done some day riding on the scoot. Used to anchor out behind Decker Island the first night out just up river from there. Love the area. I was planning on doing a marine gear swap on Sunday the 8th down in Berkley at the Yacht Club, but according to the weatherman we're in for some rain so won't be going. If you want to hook up for lunch I know some funky historical places.. :-) Looking forward to seeing folks....Haven't heard from Vic @LoneEagle in months, but I can sure meet up with youse guys anywhere. I'll give Vic a shout.... Another old member is Rich99 in Livermore...

Just went to the link and did a search for Sacramento CA and we have one station?? Tognotti's, but it's an auto parts store and the fuel is 110 octane. Av'gas.. So it looks like I'm stuck using the 15% cr@p. My truck mileage has gone to hell in a hand basket since they went to the 15%. Leave it to Kalifornia to screw things up....again!!

So... ya gonna keep it on the shelf???
