  2. A couple of years ago I picked up 3 generic sets for a MkI, and had to grind off the sides to get them to fit as they were too wide to fit down into the caliper opening.... I dont know if this is the same vendor???
  3. Nothing unusual about carb sets on Ebay lately. They're all over the place, and still pull big bucks even though there's a glut..... Dang it!!

  11. I used to belong to Vagabundos and they have some great information on their website for anyone going south. As well as the latest info, you can also buy insurance thru them. http://www.vagabundos.com/hotbox.htm
  12. Everyone can theorize all they want, but it all comes down to this.. the economy sucks. Getting down to the basics, there's 10% plus unemployment, there's another 10% that aren't on unemployment but still unemployed, There's another $20% of the work force that are working but don't know if they'll have a job next week or next month. Do the math. That's 40% of the market that aren't spending any money for anything other than necessities. If you lost 40% of your potential sales income you wouldn't be buying anything either. Until the most prolific employer we have get's back on it's feet and starts hiring we're all going to have to tighten our belts. That employer is the small business man.

  18. Yep, On the charger you'll need is one that will never go above 13.4 VDC to prevent gassing...those tiny bubbles that appear when charging a wet cell.... What happens is the bubbles have no place to go in the gell because it's so thick, and end up suspended between the gel solution and the lead plates. When that happens the electical ions can't transfer from the plate to the electrolyte gel and the battery is basically FUBAR.
  19. There's a search engine in the menu bar at the top of the page....
  20. Mornin' Dave... I know what the reason for the pop up is, but I wonder how usefull the feature really is, and how many posters actually change their mind and pick a suggestion?? I still think it's a PITA.....
  21. AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat, and sometimes mistaken for a Gel battery. So far the AGM's are the best affortable bang for the buck in battery technology..... Here's a good explanation of the difference... http://www.batterystuff.com/tutorial_battery_gel_agm.html
  22. Every time I go to post a new thread and enter the subject line this damn frame pops up with suggestions about other threads that might possibily have something to do with what I'm posting about. It's a PITA. Any way I can turn the thing off???
