  1. Yep.... however highly unlikely if you have the bike on the side stand while messing with the clutch. You can check to see if it's in there by getting one of those collapsible magnetic nut retrievers with the skinny magnet on the end and fish them out. The rods and ball are steal and the block is non-magnetic aluminum. You can pull the long, short, and ball out the clutch basket side...
  2. That's why all the old timers recommend replacing it with a new one rather than trying to rebuild one. For the price difference between a rebuild kit and a new slave it doesn't make any sense rebuilding....
  3. Your OLD!!!!!! :backinmyday::backinmyday:
  4. I was talking about the connecting rods between the slave and the throwout bearing in the pressure plate... Sorry just got back on to see if I ended up high bidder on a gun I'm interested in...
  5. Here's my thoughts... If you had the clutch basket assembly out to get to the shift roller, somehow you might have flipped a part when putting it back together and the basket isn't setting in all the way. And.... if you had the long and short rods out, a lot of folks don't know this but on one end of both the long and short you'll see a very tiny flat spot. That flat spot goes against the ball and keeps the ball from slipping off the end of the rod and binding against the side wall. If I remember correctly on my first clutch job I reversed the nut with the hollowed out center and had a similar reaction. To get the bike into neutral get it onto the center stand with the rear tire elevated and let it turn while in gear...then shift the tranny into neutral. With pressure on the gears it's a SOB to get it not to jump over neutral... I think??? 2¢
  6. YES BUT, it should have for the price they sell the bike for.... Ironic... I paid 14K for the Titan with free XM. The V3 is twice that and they want to get in your wallet for even more...
  7. Yep, I was noticing the same thing... And if looked to small for Puc I would look like King Farook sitting on a bar stool..... I'm caught in a catch 22 situation... I like big bikes because I'm very big, I even make a Gen2 look small, but at my age they are getting very hard to wrestle.....
  8. Yep, Mine too... It's a '91 Tuxedo. Serial number 0002. I think it originally was a Yamaha USA show bike. It has about the entire aftermarket bling catalog on her... BTW she's not for sale...any longer.... :-)
  9. My '06 Titan came with a high end audio/gps system and included free XM lifetime... OK I'm sure that somebody paid for it originally.. I picked up the truck used and didn't even know it was there until I stumbled across it while pressing buttons. Even though I had reservations about XM in the past, that's all I now listen to. However, if I had to pay for it I'd probably go to something else... With all the hoo-haws the Neo-Venture comes with Ida thought Yamaha woulda included it...
  10. Well? Now that I've thought about it a bit...........Maybe?????
  11. That was another thought I had. Is it actually ethanol free?? I guess a simple way to tell is take a pint of their Premium and do a colored water ethanol removal test.
  12. Glad to see you changed your mind Rick... I'd miss Nina.. :-) Imagine..if you hadn't picked up the tab for lunch at Guisti's during VW6 you wouldn't have had to make that first post.. for the next 5 years.. :-) Heck I was even going to pay your dues... but that's off the table now..
  13. When touring on the bike I always had better performance with Shell, even here in the US. MOF it is the only fuel I use once out of California... We're more concerned with the stuff south of your boarder. What Shell Canada does with their premium to get away from ethanol can't be done down here. 15% ethanol is mandated in the US. But I think I found the answer. From the Shell/Canada web site.... What makes Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline different than other Shell grades? Shell V-Power NiTRO+ contains the highest concentration of the Shell Nitrogen Enriched Cleaning System and cleans up faster than Shell regular. In fact, Shell V-Power now contains seven times the amount of cleaning agents required by federal standards. The new Shell V-Power NiTRO+ formulation contains an innovative combination of two key cleaning agents that work together in harmony to provide the BEST TOTAL engine protection you can get. It provides unbeatable protection against gunk and corrosion, and superior protection against wear. The answer.... THEY US SEA-FOAM!!!
  14. Interesting... What do they do to boost the octane?? Shell premium in California has 15% ethanol....
  15. If that's the case how about adding a pint of 15% back into the ethanol free fuel...?? That would be one way to boost the octane... Another thought would be since they removed the lead way back when and replaced it with an ethanol or alcohol?? water mix, would it be OK to run the no ethanol fuel with the harder valves in todays engines?? Or would a lead additive be needed???
  16. So it's Sunday morning and I'm sitting here thinking... dangerous but entertaining... :-) There's 15% ethanol in every gallon of gas sold. With the amount of gas we burn in the US per day that's one hell of a lot ethanol. Since I've heard that ethanol comes from corn, is there enough corn grown every year to supply the ethanol needed to lace all the fuel with that evil stuff, and still have enough for the BBQ and popcorn???? I just crunched some numbers and the ethanol needed for just one day is 2.3 million gallons of ethanol... Whew!!! https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=23&t=10 So I found that; Ethanol can be produced from a variety of feedstocks such as sugar cane, bagasse, miscanthus, sugar beet, sorghum, grain, switchgrass, barley, hemp, kenaf, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cassava, sunflower, fruit, molasses, corn, stover, grain, wheat, straw, cotton, other biomass, as well as many types of cellulose waste..... Sounds like we're going to have a food shortage.....
  17. Wait!!! So they shoot round weighted wheel balls out of those revolvers?? Amazing!! Do they roll very far??
  18. So a rifle could be a wheel gun??? :-) What grain wheel do they shoot????
  19. OK... I've never seen a wheel gun.. Does it shoot wheels?? Maybe they make car tires go flat?? Maybe they're wheely wheely cool?? But.. What ever happened to REVOLVERS????? The cylinder revolves..it doesn't roll.. Maybe it just sounds COOL?? I guess I'm just too old fashion.. :backinmyday: All Old Revolver owners UNITE!!
  20. OK, after thinking about it a bit..... The Carbtune is also an individual reading.. So maybe I'm all wrong in my thinking... Gauges should work just as well.... I take back everything I've posted... It's an old age thing.... And I've deleted the posts....
  21. I tried that with Geico, but the quotes came back greater than what I had with State Farm... Been with them for 45 years. Maybe....???
  22. I've never owned one that goes out of sync quickly. I usually sync them every year or so whether they need it or not. Usually then they only need twerking. Just a thought, but make sure your manifold hose clamps are tight. Manifolds = the rubber sleeves between the carb and the head. If you have a leak it will effect the sync. Maybe a leak that developes when things warm up?? Just a WAS...?? I also use a Carbtune. Not the gauge type.
  23. #2 carb is the benchmark. It can't be sync'd, but does control the idle. Left front is #2.
  24. Howdy Doody... With Clara Bell and Buffalo Bob...
