Wish it were that simple around here... I can think of at least a dozen reasons to not renew a reg in any given year and none of them should be illegal. Nothing eligal about not registering a vehicle, but late fees will continue to pile up until you do.....

I hope you can iron out the insurance details. Years ago the neighbors oak tree fell on my sailboat which I had on a trailer in the back yard. Because it wasn't in a marina and secured in the back yard I let the insurance lapse. When I called my agent she explained that the boat wasn't covered under the property insurance because it was a vehicle and required it's own insurance. The neighbor's insurance wouldn't cover it because it was an 'Act of God'. Your bikes may fall under negligence. I hope they are.

Here in California if a bike has no activity for 7 years it falls out of the system, but over that 7 years it can accumulate a ton of fees and fines for non renewal of registration. That's one of the big reasons sellers conviently lose the title, and they end up 'parts' bikes. The sad thing is all the owner had to do was non-op the bike instead of ignoring the renewal notices. All a non-op cost is $10 bucks and lasts forever. I've looked at a few 1stGens that have been sitting and the DMV fines, plus a couple of hundred asking bucks, were way more than the thing was worth. So the asking wasn't any deal at all... I did luck out on one bike that hadn't been renewed for a couple of years. The guy had never completed the name change from the previous, but had paid the transfer fees, which remained on account until I went down to get the bike in my name. Expected a $250 dollar DMV fee and ended up paying $60 bucks. WOOT!! I looked into using one of those companies that washed titles but the fees were on the high side, and they only went back 10 years..or so...

I bought a 6x12 enclosed trailer that was covered with big decals, and after trying a lot of different methods I finally got them off. The only thing that worked was WD40 on a warm day in the sun. Not so much to directly remove the decal, but to lubricate the single edged razor blade as it pealed the decals off and left the paint unscathed. Heat guns were too hot. Goof off was too severe for the paint on the trailer. Steam was a waste. I'm still going to have to repaint the trailer, but the last side doesn't have any nicks in the paint surface.....

Ain't it amazing that when you charge something to you CC online it hits your account in a nano sec, but when they have to refund it takes 3 to 4 weeks.....

'99 RSV Tire Size Discrepancy
Condor replied to Bobby G's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I put the Avon Venom rear just before doing Cody in September. I had been runing an Elite II, and didn't really notice any difference in handling. Basically forgot it was there. The big handling improvement came with the front tire. -

In '07 I rode back thru Nevada from Ft Collins in 105deg weather. Wore a black mesh jacket, helmet and gloves. Outside of having to drink lots of Desantis, and still getting dehydrated, I was perfectly comfortable. True the humidity was low and made things cooler at 70mph. Heat and high humidity might have done me in.

If I remember correctly the wind chill factor is calculated for exposed skin. Not on any surface. So on a bike with the proper gear you should be OK. However there are some things you just can't cover.... like face and eyeballs. At -30f deg, freezing can happen very quickly. When we went over BearTooth Pass last September it got a little nippy on the top and the tops of my ears started hurting like hell. Later on figured it out.... the vent was open on the top of the helmet... SOP for us boys from California.

Yeah, that's a Ventureline and fits the 86-93's. It should say Ventureline on black ring of the pivot side plate.
