  1. The magnum clamps also come in 1 1/8". This is the size you'll need. Get the clamp too small and it won't grip the guard properly. Too big and it won't grip at all. Kuryaken clamp
  2. Thank??? What's that...

My webhost installed a virus spam filter that nails just about 100% of any spam/virus that comes through. I used to get a ton of spam but since they changed over it's almost zip. The DHL shipment virus was the latest. I guess they keyed in the 'DHL' and nothing makes it thru, but if I really wanted to read it I could go to my accounts page and open it.... Not!! If anything does slip by I also have Trend Micro Firewall that takes care of things. The reason I need this is my biz email addresses are all over the place, so I'm an easy mark for the spammers....
  6. Need more info...those pics are kinda fuzzy............ Nice job...
  7. Every Venom I've picked up has been from SW Moto, but since they've been bought out it seems like the prices are slowly creeping up, and the quick ship has gotten a tad slower to NorCal....which isn't that big of a deal, but for someone that has to pinch pennys I might do a little shopping the next time around.
  8. Saw the ad on the tube. Thought...hey great!! Then I forgot.... Just as well, from the reports it was standing room only at every Denny's in town. I got better things to do...once I remember what they is....
  9. I've already sent the seller an inquirey about viewing the bike so I may get a direct response. ??
  10. I have the trailer to pick it up, but no place to store it out of the weather. If you'd like to pick up the tab on a mini-storage unit until you can get here I could arrange that. Just put a cover on it and lock'r up....?? I could also toodle on down to Napa and take pics and post a report if need be.
  11. YUP!! Just about as rare as chicken lips, but not quite.... Actually I just looked at the Venture Line Brochure and they are not listed... and if I remember right I saw a set on a Wing?? Still rare though...
  12. Don't need anything, but good luck on the auction....
  13. I replaced the Slave on the '83 with a new one from Buckeye. The difference between the rebuild kit and a new one at the time was about 25 bucks, and at the recommendation from Rick I went that route. On removing the slave it will come out the side. No need to drop the exhaust. The trick is that it needs to be rotated upside down to clear the shift linkage. Same thing when installing. Put it in upside down and rotate as it's inserted. What the deal is is the tab ear can't clear the rod if the slave is pulled straight out, but will 'jump' over the rod when rotated. As Micarl said the stator wires have to be shoved out of the way.
  14. With 25,000 on it I doubt there's going to be many issues.... if any. The seller did mention replacing the CMU. I wonder if the seller is a dealer. He mentions owning 50 bikes...??? And wonder what the reserve is?? I didn't notice the reserve when I first viewed the auction, and I was looking for one. Probably edited the listing.
  15. Saw this one on Ebay this morning. It's only 70 miles from me in Napa if someone needs it checked out. There's not too many left in this condition. VENTURE ROYALE
  16. Buy him an '83 or '84 first generation VR and take the saddles and trunk off.....
  17. The K&N shouldn't. Been runing one on the '83 and '87 without any problems...
  18. Start taking those power walks....
  19. I've found that when bleeding the brakes, don't pump them up hard before starting to get the air out of the system. With Speed-Bleeders it's a lot easier to purge air out of the lines when the cavity of the caliper is smaller with the pistons compressed. When I installed the R1's on the '83 I kinda discovered this. Instead of flushing out the larger volume, a smaller area seems to work much better... and faster. Once the air is out then pump them up hard.
  20. I have a Beckman floating around here somewhere??, but most of the time I use one of those meters from HF. They can be had for $1.99 on sale, and for that price I can keep one on every bike. MULTIMETER
  21. I thought the game was great. Very intertaining. Didn't think the Saints were going to get'r done, but they did. Hats off to them. Now that the monkey is off their back they're gonna be a force to reckon with in the NFL. I rmember another team like that... the 49'ers....
  22. I've used Google Maps from time to time when buying or taking a check just to see who or what I'm dealing with. I received one check for payment written on a check without any personal ID preprinted on it. The name and address were hand written in the top corner. I did the search and found the address was a vacant lot on a street that I wouldn't want to be on after sunset. Tore the check up and round filed it....
  23. The standard height of a 1stGen windshield is 22". I have one on the '91 that's 18" and wider. Don't know who made it?? The jury's still out on how it preforms. I'm 6'6" and look over everything....
