  1. Love the paints, but $39 bucks a can is a little beyond the pocket book...
  2. OK, my 15 y.o. daughter has distroyed 2 'el cheepo' LG AT&T freebe cell phones. The first was just barely replaced under warantee, but now the warantee has expired and the second is hanging on by a thread. She's a texting machine. I've looked at Ebay, but don't trust the sellers. She's also not eligible for some type of phone upgrade until next november thru AT&T. I don't know squat about all these new gizmo cells available on the market, and wonder if anyone could suggest a model that won't break the bank, and that's good to use with texting??? HELP.....!!!
  3. Root canals... What a PITA. I've had 4 or 5?? And so far have lost 3 of them... So I paid to have the roots and crowns... the last crown was gold and it lasted a year..., then paid to have the extractions, then they wanted me to pop for a bridge..... I told them to take a hike. What they fail to tell you is the tooth will deteriorate over time and the root isn't permanent. I think it's a scam... Next time I need something done I'm going to La Paz Mex.
  4. NOPE!!!!! Another thing is those pics are from a year ago.. Lots of things can happen in a year.. And it ain't an RSV.
  5. You paid way too much for that thing.... However out of the goodness of my heart, I'll take it off your hands if you'd like to get your money back.....
  6. Shouldn't be too hard to have the plastic intakes chromed. I think there's someone on the board that either does it or knows someone who does. I have a set on the '83... #12 on the pic....that look sorta OK, but could use a rechrome. As far the #11 edge trims go, they may be a little tougher to make. They look like they're a chromed tin stamping. Attached is a pic of all the pages. http://www.cast-aways.com/QUICKY/access5.jpg http://www.cast-aways.com/QUICKY/access6.jpg
  7. Yep... Me too... I put put the value at $3500-$4000, and that's still getting close to the price of a clean '99RSV. A nice '99 silver just sold on Craigs for $4700obo
  8. That's interesting. I never paid any attention to it before, but my manual says the same thing. I run the CLASS pressures on the auto/hi setting since I pack a lot of weight on the bike, and the front stops pumping at 17psi and the rear stops at 71psi. Never tried to go any higher as I figured that was it. I wonder if I can go higher using the manual setting???
  9. I just take them to a professional polisher. $40 bucks and they look liked they're chrome. And I don't even get dirty. Another alternative, if you want to keep them looking stock, is soak them in acetone. The yellow grunge will come off in about 15 minutes. The surface will look like new. Reshoot them with a clear metal spray to seal them back up. Unless you plan on polishing them yourself, I'd suggest not using any abrasive type material to clean them off. You'll get scatches everywhere. There was a thread about using baking soda as a blaster medium that sounds like it might work.....
  10. Interesting place. Data was a little outdated and incomplete. They didn't have my name listed under my birthday... , but a great place to go if you're bored...
  11. Sigh.... Thanks for looking Mike.. Did you find anything interesting? I do every time I go on safari....
  12. Pro'bly....
  13. OK, I won't think about asking how ya know...... So without thinking how'd ya Know??? :rotfl:
  14. Another possibility are wheel bearings. I had a slight buzz at high speeds. Put in new bearings and problem solved.....
  15. I don't believe they make a fork brace for the 2ndGen....
  16. I don't do a lot of novel reading, but I did enjoy all the James Mitchner historical/fiction books. For some reason they capture my imagination.....
  17. Tapes??? They take tapes???
  18. HEY!!! My tape deck is faster than your tape deck....
  19. DITTO.....
  20. This whole process had me a bit confoosed as we don't have that problem with 1stGens. Then my evil little mind went to work and from what I can gather the inside tube extends down a few inches into the 2ndGen tank, letting it build presure once the fuel reaches the bottom of the tube, until it wants to relieve itself. So I got it.... Now the question is why do many holes? One on the high side when the bike is leaning aught to do it???
  21. This post eally got me to daydreaming. I think it would be very cool to have a 1stGen completely dressed out in carbon fiber. I played around on Google and came up with this LINK to a manufacturer that already makes a few parts for the R6. No one ofs here... but if I had the bucks....
  22. Fingers and toes....
  23. Where's Squeeze....
  24. Another thing that no one has addressed yet, is the moisture dripping out of the exhaust is normal when first fired up. After the engine is up to running temp it will disappear, however you should be able to hold your hand in the exhaust flow and 'feel' the moisture as it hits your hand. It indicates a well tuned engine. Good luck finding the 'twinkle'... There is a water jacket plug back behind each the spark plugs that will 'twinkle' when the 'O' rings get stiff and hard with age. Keep an eye on that area while doing the pressure test.
