Good idea, but I'd keep a watchful eye on the reserve while doing it......

You may not get any restitution, but you can still file feedback. As the winner of the auction you can also request contact information thru Ebay. Give that a shot and call them directly. Also if you paid with a credit card thru 'ProPay' you can file a dispute with your card company.

No antenna load on that CB when transmitting will blow the finals. If it doesn't work when you get things hooked up, take it to the dealer that you bought it from and have them replace the CB.....

Congrats Canada.... Great game... :clap2:

It would be interesting to find out what parts don't fit. Pics would be a big help. Especially the LH grip and choke area. The VIN# indicates '83, but there were a few of the 84 models that were built and delivered prior to 84, that were assigned '83 Vins And.... welcome to the board...

Well the trailer looks aerodynamic.... Can't say much about the scoot..... Just starting to get even....:rotf:

That's gonna look cool. You might as well go with the boost too.... That's where a lot of your performance will come from...

I understood what you were doing. What I didn't know was your plan to use the MKII carbs, and a need to change out the TCI because of it. I'm wondering if the '83 carbs would have performed just as well without having to change the TCI?? Are you doing the cams as well??
-
I don't understand why you'd need to change out the TCI?? I sold my spare '88 motor to Kurt (Gone14s) last year, and he pulled the '84 1200...bad 2nd... and stuck in the '88. Kept everything original '84...even the carbs. Ran like a champ..

Received an email about Yamaha and Daytona. Apparently they haven't given up on racing yet. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/emailview.asp?p=337 First time I've ever received anything like this.....

Large swaps are OK if you have deep pockets, but paying $10 bucks to get in is a deal breaker. I do a lot of the local marine gear swaps during the summer, but we had a local store that put on a pretty nice smaller MC swap a couple of times a year. Picked up some great stuff. Kuryakyn highway pegs with offsets like new for $5 bucks a set off a.... Harley. I actually found some VR parts.... can't remember what they were, or if I even had a chance to use them....yet... but I do remember buying them for next to nothing. The best part it was free for the seller as well as the buyer. They even had a free Tri-Tip BBQ for those who signed up for their email list. Fun times... Heck I even set out a small card table and sold a bell helmet... So they can keep the big ones. I'll stick with the freebe's....

Man, I got the heeby-jeeby's just watching that.....

This is going to be interesting to see if 50 VR'rs step up to the plate....

Need a bit of help

On the smoke... Could the crank be over full and blowing oil up into the air filter box and then getting sucked down into the engine thru a carb?? Sorry I haven't read all the responses...maybe this has already been covered?? -
Yep, I agree... The '83 never ran better then when I rode her to Ft Collins in '07, and Cody/Yellowstone last year. They just need to get out and stretch their legs to be happy.....

I wouldn't suggest getting too carried away at the carwash. Generally any pin hole leak will build up coolant residue as it evaporates. You might wash away any signs and wonders of where the smell coming from. I'd leave it dirty and look for a clean spot...
-
Just one more thought. Could there be a microscopic leak in the radiator??
-
Take it for a ride and get it into 2nd gear at about 10-15mph, and then open her up. If the thing starts to clatter or jump out of gear walk away.

Another clutch cylinder question
Condor replied to jimmyenglish's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When the master is disassembled can you actually feel the binding?? Or when looking down into the reserve is the rubber cup visable in the larger hole at the bottom, or can you only see the large threads of the plunger?? If you've located the bind area sanding the upper part of the bore shouldn't hurt anything as long as it's behind the rubber cup's rest position. If you can pin point the blem, just dress it with a fine file. I wouldn't bother honing it....
