Changed the milage. There's a big difference between hairlines and cracks. Avon states that small hairlines are cosmetic, but I still think they're enough to keep a close eye on. They may be a harbinger of things to come. Tire inspections should be performed regularly no matter what brand tire. I have a few small hairlines in the third front tire on the '83 for over a year now, but nothing like the first two which were replaced under warantee. Cracks are BIG and DEEP... enough to stick a quarter into, and scarry. Another point that needs to be made is Avon will pick up the tab for the remounting costs, and will deal with the dealer directly. There's no need to pick up the tab for mounting and balancing when replacing a waranteed tire.

I thought of that too, but then figured where would the TCI go if it were relocated?? Might get a little crowded up there.

I have a couple of those stashed away for future needs. I think you could put it just about anywhere where there's a bit of circulation, and maybe out of the weather. Maybe even up in the front fork area?? I'd hard wire the leads, or find a weather proof connector that will work. Have fun...

I also cleaned up the first post to make it easier to give feedback. There's also a webpage with a cleaner table of the results.

The AVON warantee number is 1-800-624-7470

Steve, Gotta check on this one. Are you saying that the tire was replaced at those milages on the odo or that's how many miles put on the tire??

It's like SAE here in the US. The phillips are just ever so slightly different and don't give 100% contact in the +. SAE's will work if your very carefull and make sure to use a driver size that's very close in fit.

I used the Track II for years, and probably still would if they were available. Then I tried a couple of other brands with refills that worked pretty good, but lately I've been buying those throw away razors that I can pick up from Sam's Club for a fairly good price. Turbo, or Mach somethings. I can usually get about 3 months out of one razor so a 13 pack will last me a long time unless the girl's find my hiding place... , and I haven't nicked myself in 40 years. Not since I gave up those damned double edged razors from the 60's.......

I used to run premium because I thought... What the heck, for the few pennys difference in the cost of a tank I'd go with the very best. Nothin's too good for my baby... Then I found that after reading a lot about this subject I wasn't doing it any good. The Venture is designed and set up to run Regular. Since switching back to reg. my mpg's are much better, and the engine runs a lot stronger. My

There was a thread about LED's just a few weeks ago. Here's a link to a LED vendor that seems to have some pretty good prices. SuperBrightLEDS

Yep, they do.... Actually I think any Japanese bike is built with JIS phillips head screws.

According to the article when coupled with a desuperheater the hot water energy demand is also greatly reduced, which should reduce power costs even more. Heat pumps have been around for 30 years or more, and yes there's plenty of info on them, but Geothermo applications and technology are fairly new...

I had the sender coil break on a truck once. Pulled the sender and put a little solder over the break. Worked great. -
Congrats Rick.... I think??. Anyway, you're happy and that's all that counts.

Geeze, what a great thread.... I had no idea this existed. The wife and I have been bracing ourselves :mo money:for when the time comes to replace our old ca.1958 HVAC system. The only reason we haven't done it so far is it's still working and even tho the usage cost is greater we burn a lot of gas and electricity for the cost of replacement. I know, I know it ain't green... It's an old Carrier R12 system and built like a tank. I've often wondered if just circulating plain air thru a deep well would work, and maybe it would, but this sounds so much better. I found this site via Google that explains the system very well. http://www.reddawn.com/featart11-98.html I've also been dreaming about building a Straw Bale House on our property In Valley Springs CA. A Geothermo system would be great....

Here in California we've had that law on the books for a while now, but it was only for talking. They've found that talking on the cell phone only contributed to a 1% increase in accidents while texting ended up at a 6-7% increase. The law was modified to include texting last year....
