Vacuum Actuator

If it worked fine before you replaced the cable then it's gotta be the cable. I'd try loosening up the play to max and give it a try, or even removing the cable completely. It's all guessing at this point. -
I have two rides at the top of my list. One is Sierraville CA to Nevada City CA. Great twisty country And the other is, Podre Canyon Ft Collins CO to Rustic CO Easy river run for lunch

OK, I was probably the first rider to post a complaint about the Venom sever sidewall cracking back in '06 after Susanville. Twice. Avon warantee'd both front tires. What I'm wondering is just how many members have experienced sidewall cracking, and on how many tires. So let's start a list. Not interested in all the gorey details, just the facts listed below. PM me and I'll add your info to the list. From all the posts and threads about Avon tires cracking, I'd like to know just how many members are experiencing the problem. This is an after thought, but if you haven't experienced any cracking I'd like to hear from you also. All I'll need would be miles on the tire(s) and number of year(s) on the bike. I just think members are expeiencing way too much sidewall cracking, and sooner or later someone's going to throw a cap and get hurt. Although Avon has been very good on warantees, so far I don't think we've been given the straight story on sidewall cracking. I need the number of tires cracked, milage when replaced, warantee'd?, DOT date, and date replaced. Follow this link to see the results. AVON CRACKING

Bikers slow Paris Roads & Trains very effective...

Hey!!! I'm impressed.... That was kick a$$. Vive la France.. I just think that one day isn't going to do it. 3 or 4 days in a row will either cause bikes to be outlawed completely, or big brother will actually reconsider what they've done. It's not the demo that's going to make any dent...it's the calls from the car commuters that are going to have the most impact....- 12 replies

I noticed that they have a feature called 'theft lock' that sounds like it's more trouble then it's worth. I hope the unit in the auction doesn't have it set. I would have called Garmin Tech to see if it's unlockable, but they were closed until monday. So it'll be a gamble. Thanks for the feedback..

Anyone runing one of these instead of the Zumo? There's one coming up in an auction tomorrow. I know the screen is smaller, but it still has the screen that can be seen in direct sunlight. It also has Blue Tooth. It doesn't have the enterface cables, but they are still available thru Amazon.

Those come standard on Nolan's. I'll never go back to double D's...

On a new2me bike I don't mess around. 1 can to a full tank and ride it 'til it's gone. Then go change out the plugs. Should be good to go. With that few miles on a 10 year old bike there's got to be a lot of varnish accumulation in the bowls and jets. A Sea Foam specialty....

There could be a lot of differnt things that could cause the problem your having, but I'm gonna second the air in the lines....

Among the many hats I've worn in the past was a rep for a couple of knife company's. Basically all knives are good for something. The rule of thumb is the ability to hold an edge is based on the Rockwell hardness of the blade. 57-58 is a good hardness. Hard enough to hold an edge, but still able to get an edge with a little sweat equity. Lower Rockwell's will sharpen easier but will also loose their edge very quickly. Higher Rockwell's will hold the edge but are brittle. Blade material can range from a very high carbon steel which will hold a decent edge but will rust very quickly without proper care and daily use, to stainless steels which will withstand rust, depending on the grade, but will still stain depending on the grade and carbon content. So it's basically a balancing act as to what you want to use the knife for, and how much you're willing to pay. Recently the industry has come out with a new material. Ceramic. Supposed to hold an edge just about forever, but so far I haven't really looked into them, or read any feedback on them to form an opinion. My mind keeps telling me they'd be brittle, and might not take an edge if resharpening is neccessary. Been thinking about picking up one to give it a try.

Trunk rack for 1st gens
Condor replied to Beau-Kat's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think it became available thru VentureLine in '92 or '93. I've never seen another so I can think it was available for very long. The brochure I posted doesn't show it and it was printed in '90. -

Hey I put 7 hours in the saddle at 105deg. I have 'm and it still got real toasty.... -
OK, does it slip when you first start out, or after you've been riding for a while??
-
Check the tire pressures and go for a ride.....
-
OK, before going for the juggler and rebuilding everything. Tell us how, when, and how bad it slips. Also milage on the scoot and when was the last time the clutch fluid was replaced...
-
WOW!!! This thread is worse than asking what kind of oil to use.....
-
It's all Rockets fault......
-
I just had a thought... Rare... What would happen if the entire clutch basket were swapped out with one from a 1stGen?? I don't even know if they would be interchangeable. Maybe someone here could shed some light on the subject??

Don't think Dan could put up with something that slow..... :rotf:
