I generally hang mine off the loop that the brake line passes through on the fork... It's more of a token since most of the bells offered don't ring anyway. Kinda like a rabbits foot. Originally the bell was supposed to trap the gremlin and the ringing would drive them insane....

Apparently there is a McGuiver screw that'll work, and apparently it's happened before... :-) Thought it look familiar and I found this one buried in one of the roll-away drawers. Hadn't seen it in years. Tried a couple of pumps and nada... So figured it was another non-op like yours. Played with it a bit more and the thing went poof!! Pumped it some more and it started working, but still only goes poof... Anyway back to the drawer. It looks like the original rear sight adjustment screw was a round head??

Might I suggest buying one of these from Harbor Freight. $60 Bucks. It works great for centering the bike for an oil check, or.... any other wrenching that needed to be done... It doesn't necessarily need to be mounted in a trailer....

Dang!! I thought that was a US Flag Puc. Thanks for catching that. It is too damn small and I think it's about time Don gave us old half blind folks an Old Glory we can see. Always wondered why our neighbors north of the boarder had the nice big one?? http://www.justiceacademy.org/iShare/Active%20School%20Shootings%20Incidents/Crime%20Prevention%20Photo%20File/Crime%20Prevention%20Photographs%20Support%20Photo%20File/American%20Flag%20with%20Cross.jpg

Mystery Leak Solved
Condor replied to Chaharly's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
12's won't work on a 13. They are shallower. But... a 13 will fit a 12.... -
Yeah, but our pics will still be here.... :-)

No, That's actually a Veterans Memorial, but you never can tell????..... And... 'Resistance is Futile'....

Yep, great looking bike.... Here's a pic of 7 of 9 in Washington. And if I weren't so old and decrepit I'd probably chase this one on Craigslist... https://chico.craigslist.org/mcy/d/royal-star-venture/6596759085.html

I don't think where it came from makes a difference. It's like all military arms manufacturing, it's all put out to bid and the cheapest usually wins the contract. The Euro, Pound, Lira, etc. is king. Not all countries are as strict as the US when it comes to meeting contract specs. I guess if I owned one gun and shot the 'H' out of it, I'd buy on the cheap too... But I don't, so I don't... :-) I'll stick with the home grown variety...

Covering bike when hauling it on a trailer question.
Condor replied to Albertastar's topic in Watering Hole
I guess we'll never know unless we get a straight side pic of the bike on the trailer... To me the bike still looks farther forward. And I kinda wonder if the trailer was designed that way or it had been re-purposed?? -

The rule of thumb is aprox 10% of the GTW (trailer plus the bike) should be used as a guide line for proper tongue weight. So let's say the trailer weigh's 600# and the bike is 775# for a total of 1375#. 10% of that would be 137.5, +/-10-15# 400# is way too much towing weight. I don't care what old ARCHY sez.... :-) -
Covering bike when hauling it on a trailer question.
Condor replied to Albertastar's topic in Watering Hole
Yes it could be, but from what I'm looking at the bulk of the bike plus the trailer are forward of the axle... So, considering the bike weighs around 775# dry plus the trailer weight, according to your formula how much does the tongue weigh?? -
Nope... We have them here too... Not lately, but until 1993-2003 they did a pretty good job of flooding the market with their stuff... Albeit was cheap... In 1993, the import of most Norinco firearms and ammunition into the United States was blocked under new trade rules when China's permanent normal trade relations status was renewed. The prohibition did not apply to sporting shotguns or shotgun ammunition however. In 1994, U.S. Customs agents conducted a sting against Atlanta based importers of Norinco firearms.[8] In August 2003, the Bush Administration imposed sanctions on Norinco for allegedly selling missile-related goods to Iran.[9] These sanctions led to a prohibition on imports into the US of the remaining types of firearms and ammunition not covered by the 1993 ban In the market their manufacturing has been lacking, and not very popular compared to other countries. I'd also question their ammo as most the the cheaper stuff on the world market is dirty and highly corrosive. https://www.gunbroker.com/Norinco-Firearms/Browse.aspx?Keywords=Norinco https://www.gunbroker.com/item/774326524

Covering bike when hauling it on a trailer question.

I liked the set up of that trailer, then I started thinking...which is very dangerous at times....?? I wonder what the tongue weight is with most of the bike sitting ahead of the axle like that?? -
Dang you're good.....

Very nice..... Hope it's as clean as described...

I may go that way..if I can come up with something that's worth saving..?? :-) I have a couple of extra small office refers that I bet could be converted to a keg-er-ator. I bet some smart individual may have come up with a kit to do just that??? See I thought so....

Thanks for the link. Looks like a great site.... I'm sure I'm gonna have a ton of ?'s. First... Do youse guys bottle?? Or a keg maybe??

That's really cool... I don't have much info to go on other than family lore and stories from when I was a kid. Tried to find Gram's house at 6th and Genessee. I think there's a gooberment building sitting on top of it now. Time does march on....

There was a craft beer eatery near the marina I kept the sailboat in, and I got real fond of 'Double Wheat'. Thought I might find out how to make it?? Finding all sorts of interesting websites...

Fork seals, again!
Condor replied to CaseyJ955's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Another thing that causes fork seals to go prematurely is dried bug guts on the inners. They will do in a seal in a heart beat... What I generally do on long rides is spray some Pam on the front of the tube right above the seal. When a critter commits suicide on the tube he...or she... won't stick to the tube... There's also a gizmo that someone came up with that's about like a piece of camera film that will slide between the tube and the seal that will clean dirt off the seal and stop the leaks....
