  1. It's metalic, but it ain't Candy Apple... CA looks like you could dive in. The first coat is gold metalic and then 6-7 coats of transparent red over the top. If the part is truly candy apple it will not match. It may have been off a custom painted bike...
  2. Find out when the rear shock was replaced last. If they can't tell you ask them to replace it before you lay out the cash..
  3. Here's mine.... http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/P11n2b97ZwYEIbi-lAeADixf6us7JvWus8Vi3hNa_gYdKY1-N8_RXKZ5xZ5TnmoZGOkQyxV-K7RBfSyCivBiwJfSDVwPAFgMjEOaKa__M7JtIFemV7wMWDpRMAz_jv09tMTuxKsYWP82gHg4rDrXPGSn2trooYikkg
  4. It'd sure screw up your love life.....
  5. 5.8 ft/lbs is what the 2ndGen manual calls for. It does seem kinda weak. The screws on the 1stGens are 10 ft/lbs. At that torque I don't even use a torque wrench and just snug 'm down with a 1/4" rachet. On the stiff non-op clutch lever, with the pressure plate off try squeezing the lever very so slightly with a finger on the push rods. If the rods move then the problem is in the basket assembly. If it doesn't move the problem is from the slave to the master. It seems kinda dumb, but it eliminates half of the clutch system of errors. If it's in the basket put it together and try squeezing the lever again to see if the plate will move. If everything is working OK then button it up. If it doesn't work after the cover's on then you might be hitting the cover?? Just a thought....
  6. I think you need to change the name of the 'DeerHunter' to 'HI-HO'.... Then all ya need is a mask....
  7. Congradulations on the addittion to the family Bob....
  8. For those of us that like to have the odo on, and still know the time.... I like the temp and clock. Will look really good with Ponch's new dash configuration...
  9. Looks like all the heat went east this year.... Around here (CA) it's been one of the mildest summers I can remember in the last 40 years. It does happen every once in a while. I remember when a kid growing up outside of Buffalo NY we hardly had any snow one year and they had a storm dump 6" on SoCal. Bet they had a volcano go off then too....
  10. I max everything out.....
  11. Paypal sent. Thanks Larry....
  12. You don't ride a Venture to go by another bike. It's bad Karma/Juju, and bad things happen.... They got feelings ya know.... http://www.cast-aways.com/images/unlucky.jpg
  13. Actually the trunk is the same size but the bottom attachment points are totally different than the MKII. It's a real conundrum....
  14. The ring lists out at 12-13 bucks and was hoping someone had one off a rear ender?? But...Larry... I gotta ask. How much do you need for the lights??
  15. It's the end of August and usually we're sweating our a$$es off with a 100+ summer heat wave. Woke up this morning to temps in the 50's and rain clouds overhead. Weather man sez it's a cold front out of Alaska and it's going to rain... It's all that damn volcano's fault....
  16. Yamaha since early June. Getting tired of waiting around. Anyone have one of these laying around. It's the chrome ring off an RSV right rear turn signal.
  17. Good advice, but those brackets are rarer than chicken lips...
  18. Street value on your TD is $7000-$7500. Trade in is a tad less than $7000 and no dealer is going to give that. It's nice to point a finger at other listings for much more.... but they're sitting and not selling... In this economy if anyone pays any more than the trade in value they've been hiding under a rock for the last 2 years. Any dealer that does give you full blown trade in, you better believe that what he's selling is going to be full blown retail. It's all in the difference, and the lower the better to reduce the sales tax. My
  19. I guess this time it did....??
  20. Could use some bigger pics. I tried the magnifying glass but no luck....
  21. Hey those Bush Pilots are tuff. They gotta be to land in Alaska....
  22. The answer is all of it. If it's like a 1stGen it's on the bottom of the water pump and where you drain the system. I generally let the engine run with it open and a hose stuck in the fill adjusted to match the amount draining out. Flushes out all the old stuff.
