If you're talking about the plastic diaphragm slides, I'm affraid you're at the mercy of Y. For just diaphragms they can be purchased from Sirus in Canada for about $70 bucks a set. Another possibility is picking up a set of carbs off Ebay for a 1stGen MKI and using the Diaphragm assemblies. Cracking is not normal.

dunlop tires E2 / E3
Condor replied to DesertRider's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You're right the EII's wear like iron, but they are like 'mud'n'snows'. The E3's are closer to the Avon as a performance tire. Some members are reporting good milage. I don't carer how old ya are ya still gotta turn once in a while.... -
Thanks Don. That will help..

Yeah, I was just hoping someone had written them down... like T-white to B-black, T-blue to B-yellow, Etc. I've wired up a ton of trailers to auto and trucks, so I guess I'm just lazy....

Yep, I have the same situation. Can anyone give a few hints on how to wire to the bike?? Color to color etc.?? The trailer came with both male and female plugs.... And can I asume that the bike is 5 wire, and I don't need a 5 to 4 converter?? Ooops!! I just checked and mine is a 6 wire square. It also has a black wire which I think?? is a hot wire for the courtesy light?? The rest of the colors mentiioned are right on. Where would someone tie into the system??

Sticking Thermostat?
Condor replied to bkuhr's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
When runing down the road the temp is very dependant on the air temp. It's not unusual for the guage to register in the mid-range at 50° ambient temperature and run close to the red in the high 90's to 100°+. while riding. At idle it -is- unusual to have the temp guage fluctuate up and down several times. I have seen this happen when a thermostat is installed backwards. It could also indicate a bad thermostat. -
'Broomhilda' has a glich in her programing. The graphics are right, but the vox direction is wrong.... and it's repeatable. Happens every time I approach one particular intersection... I just ignore her.

The trailer has about 20 miles on it. Other than that it's unused. It's in California, and I'm open to reasonable offers. Comes with spare tire and extra bearing kit.

What happened to the $199 flat rate shipping in the US the seller is quoting in the auction?? Last time I checked Kalispell is in the US.....

On the CB for Alan's 1stGen. Since the bike is a standard with a bunch of room on the right side panel, pick up an aftermarket fixed mount off Ebay. Nothing fancy, just as long as it's a 40ch model with good audio. They come fairly small and should slide right under the grips. On Annie's 2Gen, I've seen those listed on Ebay too. I bet within the next 9 months one or two will appear, and as long as she has everything wired it's a plug and play. COBRA 19DXIV 40 Channel I also found these: CB RADIO FOR MOTORCYCLE

Don't have skype Mike.... Sorry. Rockets right, I do have an extra motor...just because. But, there's also one on Ebay. 1300'87 Per the seller, it's a runner, and I can't guarantee that the one I have doesn't have issues?? Plus by the time I pencil in the cost of fuel burned to pick it up, I'm probably in it about what the Ebay one will go for with US shipping costs. The seller is quoting $199. So if you know anyone close to you on the US side it might be an option to have it shipped there, and then drive down to pick it up. No promisses, but my brother lives in Kalispell MT. I'd have to ask him if he'd be willing to accept the shipment. I just looked, and it's 421 klicks and a 5+ hr drive, but it might be better than paying to import it??? Keep me posted on the haps....

Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance: Coast to Coast
Condor replied to mini-muffin's topic in Watering Hole
:sign20:Geeze... The first three stages, and they ain't outta North Carolina yet, and the mortality rate is climbing.. Hope someone makes it to Santa Monica in 2 weeks..... Can you imagine being caught behind those bikes and chase vehicles going over the Rockies, or in L.A. traffic.... Almost as bad as following a 2ndGen//// :rotfl: -
Check the torque on your axle. It might be loose from the tire change. I think it might be 50ftlbs...

receiver for 2007 Midnight Venture
Condor replied to CaptainJoe's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The used? one I picked up off Terry was built the same way. I suspect it might be a VentureDad. I figured I'd rather have it light to save weight, and since I'm not going to be pulling tree stumps with it??.... I did have a solid bar stock stinger that I tried to fit in there but it wouldn't go.... and the thing weighed more than the entire hitch... It's back on the shelf.. -
Carb Frustration. I'm goona shoot it!
Condor replied to Sheradan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It's a love-hate relationship. When it's running right there ain't nothing better, but when it gets a glitch somewhere it's an SOB..... Sounds like you still have jets plugged up, or?? you're not getting enough fuel to the carbs. Enough to idle, but not enough to supply the main jets... What is getting there may be clean, but not enough. From your original post you had a second set that ran great for 50 miles and then went south. You're sucking something into the bowls that's plugging the jets. I still think it's the fuel line breaking down....
