  1. That's where you and I will differ Don. IMO snipping does effect the final price. True you can be out bid before your snipe is made, and in that case your pre-outbid. But taking that same snipe amount, and placing it directly on the auction will cause other bidders to nibble away at your bid until they outbid you, and that does effect the selling price. It increases the bid where another bidder wouldn't be so inclined to go if they were already the high bidder at a lesser amount. Sniping can also be used in two different ways. The first is a low snipe bid on something you find interesting, but do not need, and if you can buy for cheap...great, if not..oh well... The other is a high snipe bid on something you want or need, no matter what. That's where you can save money. If you had made that 'no matter what' bid directly on Ebay, even if you didn't get outbid, the other bidders would have bumped you up higher than it would have been with a last second bid.... Heck, it's all a game anyway....
  2. Yep, saw my first Harrier in the late 70's at the air show at Fallon Naval Air Station in Nevada. Blew my mind. Burned up two rolls of slide film on it.

  4. Man, What a blood thirsty group... I did take a few pics, but when I looked at them, some old guy I didn't know was looking back at me....
  5. I agree with Don, but if you're really worried about the price something will sell, try sniping it. Some folks look down on sniping, but it is one way to get rid of the 'nibbler bidders'. You enter what you think it's worth... to you, and take your best shot. If someone's willing to bid higher then it wasn't worth that much to you anyway, and live with it. Wait awhile there'll be another. I use http://www.auctionstealer.com/home.cfm and don't even have to be around when the auction closes....
  6. Boy... this morning I hurt all over... Think I'll take a couple of more days off....
  7. Went out to install a center stand on the '99 this morning. I'd been making headway when I decided to get back up from laying on the floor wrenchin' to get another tool. Instead of grabbing the work stool for support, I figured I could stand on my own.. Nope!! Ended up flat on my face and blood all over the place. Wife came out and thought I was dead... I may have been out for a few secs... I donno?? But I finaly said something and she said 'Oh Damn!'. Now I'm not sure if it was because she was greatfull I was alive... or disppointed?? Anyway 2 skinned up knees, and one big time skinned up forehead. I quit for the day...
  8. That's neat... I wonder if there's a US company making something similar??
  9. I picked up a pair of EMT lace-up ankle-top boots off Ebay with the zipper side. Tie 'm once and that's it. From then on it's a zip up affair... Very comfortable.
  10. A heavy Sea foam mix has a tendency to foul plugs.
  11. Any weekend will work for me. Sadly at 2400 miles one-way I'm going to have to pass for another year.....
  12. With or without wheels??...... Or in a bike show??
  13. Good for him. Out here Arnold rides a trike and bumps into things...
  14. That's pretty common on AZ bikes. To bad they didn't at least toss a cover over it. Sounds like it had some neat stuff added. Wonder why they let'r go like that?? Personally, as long as it runs good, I'd think about throwing a paint job at it.
  15. So what did you do for a CB antenna??
  16. I just took a look at the spare I have, and that hex does loosen counter clockwise. If yours just spins you may have busted off what ever holds it on the inside. Wish I could be more helpfull, but I don't want to go places I don't need to go. I've been giving serious thought to putting mine on Ebay and don't want to screw anything up....
  17. In the Hard Water commercial it lasts about 3 seconds and is of a ride by with Nina stretching her arms out to the side. I did post a couple of pics. I haven't run across the Cambells Soup commercial yet, but apparently you are making the rounds....
  18. Now take it down to your local auto parts store and have them put a load on it....
  19. It's for the life time of your device, and the way GPS's bite the dust that's not very long. Now if it were for any device it would be a deal... And if the marketing department actually thought about it a bit, it would instill product loyalty. But what do they know.... I wouldn't waist the money... And I wonder why I didn't get that notice?? Mine's registered with Garmin...
  20. 12volts on any battery means it's almost dead. You should be getting 12.6-12.9vdc. I think a new battery in in order. Check with Bohanon about the Deka ETX18L. $82.95 ask for Jason, tell them you're with VentureRiders, and I think shipping is free.
  21. Get ahold of Rick at Buckeye. That's where I picked up a batch of them. Double check but I'm pretty sure the part number is: 90480-13398-00 or 90480-13014-00(repl) $2.30 $1.59
  22. Gotta ask the question. You may have mentioned it and if you did I missed it. When the idle started to increase could you get it back down using the idle adjustment knob?? Or was the knob ineffective?? What sometimes happens is the previous owner will attempt to adjust the idle and mistakenly screw in the #1 sync screw. It actually will increase the idle, but what happens is #1 becomes the benchmark carb and really screws things up. I just ran into a bike that even though I backed off all the sync screws by what I felt was enough, #1 was still way in, and the idle still could not be adjusted with the knob. I finally backed the screw way off in order to get the idle knob to work, then went ahead and sync'd the carbs and everything balanced out nicely. Be forewarned. I wouldn't recommend using mercury sync sticks as the balance on the right side gets so far out you'll suck the mercury out of them.
  23. Of course it is.... Don't want to give away all the secrets... ain't editing great....
  24. Nah... Have Boomer send you one of his pixies.....
