  1. Or impellars like an OB. Early 1stGens originally were plastic, but were replaced with a metal vane....
  2. Go to your local NAPA store and pick up some DeepCreep. It made by the same company that makes Sea Foam. Works wonders on lazy plungers.... Use it to lube up all the moving joints. Might as well do it now while they're off the bike.... A couple of cans of Carb Cleaner will do wonders to clean up the outside of those carbs too....
  3. If you paid in cash and didn't keep the receipt you're dead in the water. Chalk it up to experience..... I remember seeing a post on this vendor a couple of months ago by someone. Maybe it was you??
  4. OK, we're not at 10 yet, and maybe a couple of you have changed your mind, but I just went ahead an ordered another 10 fork braces. If anyone on the list would like to send money via paypal now they can. If not, that's OK. I don't expect to see the braces until after the holidays. $67.00 to a US address, and $77.00 to Canada via Priority mail. paypal@cast-aways.com
  5. The fork should sit right in the middle of the notch on the plunger. You can bend the fingers to adjust. The idea is to let the plunger close completely and not raise havoc with the gas milage.... They are inrichment valves, not butterflies, so having one open a little earlier than another is not that big of a deal. Having one not completely close is....
  6. Here's one that I picked up about a year ago. It does the job. The only drawback is it doesn't display the MPH on the screen, but otherwise it works well. Wide Screen display, plus a very stout mount system. OMNITECH

Yeah you're right, but I don't think that it will allow you to copy the pic in the first place if the protection is on?? Or if you can copy it, when you paste it nothing shows up. One thing you have to be careful of is to shy away from those pics that are copyrighted. But generally there are tons of pics that anyone can copy and paste.
  8. It sits unless the weather meets my riding rule.... 50 to 85 degrees... and dry....
  9. I didn't notice any download problems...... Gotta love fiber optics....
  10. Alan, GPS's can be found on Ebay for cheap that will handle your needs. You have a lot of time before you need it, so just keep an eye out for something simple and then have it shipped to Dave. I bet that www.WOOT.com will have several offered between now and when you need it. That's where I've picked up a couple. MOF they just had one for $50 bucks a month ago, and it was basic but did the job.

As long as the pic exists on the web it can be copied and pasted.... Not so if it's just in your hard drive. Then you have to use the attachment managment. http://www.cast-aways.com/images/OldCodger.jpg
  12. Thanks for the heads up... forgot about that. I'll check with Buddy and see what he thinks. The StreetPilot and the Zumo are very similar in features...
  13. Maybe we should have just linked to the Venturers.com tech section... Instead of starting our own???
  14. OK...OK, I get it.... For some reason I thought the Aux plug in the dash was a larger variety. Thanks for the help guys..... The Streetpilot c550 I have includes an MP3 player, and bluetooth to connect a cell. All audio is broadcast thru the adapter cord, even the voice directions and incoming caller. Just plug the whole system into the head set of the helmet. The only problem is I can't talk back to the caller using the head set... I think???. Audio only. Except the GPS also has an audio mike plug. I'm thinking that I may be able to get a small mike and tape it to the inside of the helmet and I'd be able to listen to music, talk on the CB, and talk on the cell phone. Hey, it's been cold and it's raining. What else can I do but hibernate and daydream...
  15. Do they make an adapter cord that will go from a standard earplug connector that go to the AUX jack of my '99??? Male on both ends. It's probably the same one everyone else is using to plug in their IPods into the system, and if it is, where do I find one??
  16. I seem to remember they made heated sox. They still available?? Might be a little less expensive than boots...
  17. Ride 'm off a cliff, and they're all equal... Unless you're on a Wing.... then it flies....
  18. Never noticed, but that's a start. Now where's the tech section with all the how-to's?? There is a www.wingrider.com web site, but it's a bill board. Maybe it's available??
  19. Zing............
  20. So when are we going to start a tech section for the GoldWing??.... Maybe a little history section??? A tech talk forum???
  21. I use a Canyon Dancer on the grips. I have one of the originals and see that they have improved them even more. I also like to use a trailer that has side walls in order to keep the webbing off the fairing. They now make the CD is different lengths to fit different widths. When I first bought my original it was one size fits all and when picking up a bike sometimes they are a little on the short side.
  22. I've had 2 F250's D's. The '87 I sold with 365,000 miles on it, and the '92, I have now, has 240,000 on her. Geeze!! that's over a half million miles on two trucks....
  23. I'm still not moved. Unless they come up with a long distant electric, they'll never catch on.... unless we run out of fossil fuel. Quoting a coast to coast cost of $30 bucks is ridiculous if it can only go 60 miles between 4 hour charges. Jay may be impressed... I'm not...
  24. Nope, It's in Braille.....
