  1. Tach and engine temp. I picked up one of those LED combo batt monotor thing-a-ma-bob-stick guages with volts, clock and, air temp, etc. that's going somewhere on the dash display or handle bar....
  2. If I remember correctly this ignition tach/temp guage mount was built by a local Star rider who has passed away. I'd heard of them, but had never seen one. I kinda like it. Anyone have a different story on the thing. These pics are the only I've ever seen. I tried to buy this set but the bike seller said no way Jose'....
  3. Wanna Bet!!! http://www.cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/santacheeks.gif
  4. Ya know, why can't these companies install the necessary diodes/resistors in the circutry of these LED replacements?? They sell the lights, why should the customer have to rewire the damn bike to make them work..... I may think about goiong that route once they do....

    35mm

And very few labs are left that process film. About the only value left in a film camera is it's collectabliity, based on quality, condition, and rarity. The old Canons and lenses were a good camera to shoot, but didn't demand anything as a collectable. The old F1n did come out in an Olympic model, but that's about the only Canon I can think of that might fall into a collectable catagory.
  6. You did good Don..... Very nice looking trike...
  7. Well.... what did you end up getting it for???
  8. I used a Kuryakyn single zipper top load duffle with end pockets on the '83 passenger seat. I have also used one of those bigger double zipper top load duffles. Either one will work well. The larger duffle makes a dandy back rest for those long mile days. I just make sure that all the soft clothing is packed to the side that I'll be leaning against. Instead of a tank bag I use a pouch that hangs between the risers. They are called 'Le Pak', and are harder to find than chicken lips, but I did finally pick one up off Ebay. I thought I'd taken a pic of it but it looks like a lost it in the great HD crash of '09. As soon as it stops raining I'll see if I can take another.
  9. I agree. I power washed the '93 when I first bought it. Would even run afterwards. Let it sit for 3 weeks in 100+ deg temp, and it fired right up. Water anywhere around the TCI is not good. Not into power washing any longer....
  10. Congrats on the 'Midnight' Cheevie!!
  11. Great feedback... Thanks..
  12. Geeze I got interested when they mentioned it was going to be for a PlayBoy cover shoot. Dang... disappointed again!! What's that thing runing for a motor...rubber bands? Maybe the sound is coming from an MP3 player??
  13. I still own five 1stGens. 1 runner, a '91, and 4 'kits'. Plus a '99 2ndGen. After 5 years of riding an '83, which is now gone, I still try to find the pegs when on the '99. Long distance 600 mile+ days on the '83 were comfortable and, but I'll probably ride the '99 to Cody.... Unless that I find after taking a few shorter trips that it isn't my cup of tea. Then I'd have no problem climbing aboard the '91 and hitting the slab, although I'd rather take it into the Sierras and carve corners....
  14. KBB retail value on a '99 is $5500 bucks. Probably 6000 because of the milage. How much is the trike kit worth used. $9000??? Probably more like $7000 in value. I'd think that $13000 would be more in line as an asking price.... I know a new trike costs a ton, but time marches on.....
  15. Ask you father in law what a V-Dub Beetle is.... and not interested in an air cooled. Thanks anyway. Leave those to the collectors. I had a '67 once.... There's plenty of New Beetle's within 25 miles of the house.
  16. This thing is viral. So a search on Google for and The scam is all over the place. And apparently there are a few folks that are falling for it..... What I can't understand is that if I can find a lot of them using Google, why can't CL???
  17. I think it all depends on your trailer setup. If you need to install a 5 to 4 converter then I'd think under the seat, but if you have a 5 wire trailer, and don't need to convert, you could connect inside the taillight housing and come out of the base??
  18. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that it seems like most everything Pinwall lists on Ebay has a flaw somewhere? Rips in seats, cracks in plastics, broken tabs, scrapes, faded paint. I would think that when they buy a wrecked bike there would at least be a few good pieces left on it??? Are they keeping the nice stuff for the store and using Ebay as a dumping ground?? Prices always seem to be high too.
  19. Maybe water/moisture in the controll head???
  20. Hope you don't fall into the 'underinsured' trap. Ask Yammerdan about it. Basically your insurance company doesn't have to pay a thing since it wasn't your fault. The onus is on the other company. You may have uninsured coverage, but a lot of companies require a seperate rider for underinsured. Check with your company, you may only be half way there in coverage. Sometimes it would be better off if the guy didn't have any coverage at all....
  21. Yours are Power Strokes Mike. My '92 is naturally asperated. It get's about 16.5 to 17mpg. The problem is it's a '92 and is getting long in the tooth. I'd like to find something nice and fairly current that will last me another 20 years, and at my age it will probably be my last hoorah. I just looked up the Trade in/Private Party value on the 2008 and got a bloody nose. Plus it still needs the sellers permission to let it go to the high bidder (bank owned). So much for getting a buy.... I'll watch the auction, but I don't have much hope of getting it.

    1913 Harley

Can you imagine pulling up to a stop sign and everyone hearing the Harley Potato and seeing that one....
  23. If you ever find one that works let me know. Right now a zip-lock&rubberband will have to do....
  24. That would help huh?? paypal@cast-aways.com
