  1. Given it some thought. It does need to be reworked a bit. The holes for the two tank screws are way bigger than those on a EOM cover, and the OEM keeper pin, up front, is missing. It sorta looks like a keeper pin on the side covers of a first gen..... As it sits now it won't work, but we'll figure it out....
  2. Whaaaat????
  3. Thanks for the feedback. According to Goose I can expand my search to include Harley type tachs. Now the search will be for something that will fit. The 2 1/4" mini tach at 3" including the besel is at the absolute max. It's going to be a tight fit. This is what I'm dealing with.
  4. Youse guys need to use Google Maps more often.... [ame=http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Athelstane,+WI&oe=&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Athelstane,+Marinette,+Wisconsin&gl=us&ll=45.413153,-88.066063&spn=0.113997,0.219383&z=12]Athelstane, WI - Google Maps[/ame]
  5. Welcome to the board Kent. My father in law was a lifer in the USAF. 29-6-1. Would have stayed in but they mentioned something about going back to Nam, and he was the second oldest to go the first time, so he pulled the plug. He spent some time at Hill off and on. MOS munitions. Maybe you rubbed elbows at one time or another. 63years in service between the two of you. Ralph W. Templin SMSgt. Anyway, hope to see you in Cody. Maybe you can hitch up with Utaventure when riding thru S.Lake...
  6. Searching for a tach that will work with the 2ndGen and it's driving me nutz... I remember something about a wasted spark discussion a while back, and have also run into D.I.S. ignition (or distributorless ignition) discussions. I'm not sure what we have??... and what to look for?? I'm trying to find a 2 1/2" dial tach with a matching 2" engine temp gauge. I did run into a couple of gauge styles... some pretty pricy.... but until I know exactely what I need it's kinda wasted motion. Anyone know exactely what I should be looking for, and also comes in an antique/chrome look??
  7. This subject has been beat to death. To link or not to link. Less filling... Taste great...!! Lets face it, if you hit a patch of snot you're gonna go down, it really doesn't make any difference how your brakes are rigged....
  8. We never have leftovers. Only Servotfel's.
  9. And not damaged...
  10. Free listing, and 1st pic is free. Can't get much cheaper than that..... You can also design your own template when using Turbo Lister and your own HTML coding, and there's no charge for any of the stuff you listed unless you use the extras available availabe with the online listing tool. Extra pics are $.15 ea., but in most cases one will do.
  11. Hey, ever heard of UV damage??
  12. The reason we are seeing so many items with a high starting bid is Ebay keeps tossing out these free listing deals for a month where in the past when they wanted to drum up listings all they had to do was offer it for a couple of days. The sellers that have ebay stores jump all over those. They can list a 100 items and if one or two sell at high dollars they're way ahead of the game. The one I can't figure out is the Chinese Bike Covers. $.01 to start and $17.00 to ship. Shipping from China/HongKong isn't cheep. Probably not $17 bucks but damn close. BTW I just ordered a half dozen XXL covers that were listed as 'all weather storage', and they're doing OK. Shedding rain like a duck. I was skeptical but figured for $17.01 what the heck... The material isn't bullet proof, but is heavier than the rip-stop stuff, and if they last through the winter it's good enough for me. I also put them over the older cover...sorta doubled up. So far so good... But I digress... What really gets me steamed are the sellers that charge $150 to ship a $25 dollar item and ships for $20-$30 bucks. They're scammers, and I usually report them. And Ebay does respond.
  13. Think via Houston-Atlanta... I've been thru Ohare in the winter. Not fun.....
  14. What you might try is wet the surface down with white vinegar. The mild acid will etch the surface and give the paint something to hold on to. Rinse well before painting....
  15. That's gonna be interesting. Sounds like there's gonna be a bunch of trailers coming to Cody. Maybe we should have some sort of a contest???
  16. That first pic looks like she's been attacked by an alien from a sci-fi B movie.. Not much room in there for a head light....
  17. Yep.... You may not be alone, but I bet there are a lot more Billybobs out there that look just fine while being towed.... It's all in the minds eye....
  18. Yep.... Toss out those big bucks :mo money:and let it sit for 51 weeks out of the year..... But you will look good for that one week..... :rotf:
  19. They're not painted, just your standard anodized aluminum unless you have the black, then any black hi-temp paint will do. Pick your poison.... I see you're from Pahrump. Have you bumped into Fred yet??
  20. You mean the fins??
  21. They also make a high speed 8" tire that stands a couple of inches taller than the tire that comes with the HF and PB trailers Works good for those that don't have the clearance to handle a 12" tire and rim....
  22. Thanks for the patent insight Don. I wonder who originally bought the patents and remaining stock from Bob's widow?? He or she might still have the molds too.
  23. I just picked up an ignition cover off Ebay for a pitance and thought I'd mess around with it. A little Schedule 40 here, and a little bondo there.......
  24. Are RAM mounts patented??? OR is the name registered. Compression ball lock type gimble systems were around long before RAM came on the scene.
  25. Not sure how anyone could patent a gauge mount. Maybe a brand name but not the mount. Otherwise every dash in the world would have to pay royalities...... I think?? And since it's prioritized to fit the Star Venture Yamaha it would probably fall under a Yamaha blanket design patent.... I think??
