  1. Yep.... You may not be alone, but I bet there are a lot more Billybobs out there that look just fine while being towed.... It's all in the minds eye....
  2. Yep.... Toss out those big bucks :mo money:and let it sit for 51 weeks out of the year..... But you will look good for that one week..... :rotf:
  3. They're not painted, just your standard anodized aluminum unless you have the black, then any black hi-temp paint will do. Pick your poison.... I see you're from Pahrump. Have you bumped into Fred yet??
  4. You mean the fins??
  5. They also make a high speed 8" tire that stands a couple of inches taller than the tire that comes with the HF and PB trailers Works good for those that don't have the clearance to handle a 12" tire and rim....
  6. Thanks for the patent insight Don. I wonder who originally bought the patents and remaining stock from Bob's widow?? He or she might still have the molds too.
  7. I just picked up an ignition cover off Ebay for a pitance and thought I'd mess around with it. A little Schedule 40 here, and a little bondo there.......
  8. Are RAM mounts patented??? OR is the name registered. Compression ball lock type gimble systems were around long before RAM came on the scene.
  9. Not sure how anyone could patent a gauge mount. Maybe a brand name but not the mount. Otherwise every dash in the world would have to pay royalities...... I think?? And since it's prioritized to fit the Star Venture Yamaha it would probably fall under a Yamaha blanket design patent.... I think??
  10. Tach and engine temp. I picked up one of those LED combo batt monotor thing-a-ma-bob-stick guages with volts, clock and, air temp, etc. that's going somewhere on the dash display or handle bar....
  11. If I remember correctly this ignition tach/temp guage mount was built by a local Star rider who has passed away. I'd heard of them, but had never seen one. I kinda like it. Anyone have a different story on the thing. These pics are the only I've ever seen. I tried to buy this set but the bike seller said no way Jose'....
  12. Wanna Bet!!! http://www.cast-aways.com/CONDORPICS/santacheeks.gif
  13. Ya know, why can't these companies install the necessary diodes/resistors in the circutry of these LED replacements?? They sell the lights, why should the customer have to rewire the damn bike to make them work..... I may think about goiong that route once they do....

And very few labs are left that process film. About the only value left in a film camera is it's collectabliity, based on quality, condition, and rarity. The old Canons and lenses were a good camera to shoot, but didn't demand anything as a collectable. The old F1n did come out in an Olympic model, but that's about the only Canon I can think of that might fall into a collectable catagory.
  15. You did good Don..... Very nice looking trike...
  16. Well.... what did you end up getting it for???
  17. I used a Kuryakyn single zipper top load duffle with end pockets on the '83 passenger seat. I have also used one of those bigger double zipper top load duffles. Either one will work well. The larger duffle makes a dandy back rest for those long mile days. I just make sure that all the soft clothing is packed to the side that I'll be leaning against. Instead of a tank bag I use a pouch that hangs between the risers. They are called 'Le Pak', and are harder to find than chicken lips, but I did finally pick one up off Ebay. I thought I'd taken a pic of it but it looks like a lost it in the great HD crash of '09. As soon as it stops raining I'll see if I can take another.
  18. I agree. I power washed the '93 when I first bought it. Would even run afterwards. Let it sit for 3 weeks in 100+ deg temp, and it fired right up. Water anywhere around the TCI is not good. Not into power washing any longer....
  19. Congrats on the 'Midnight' Cheevie!!
  20. Great feedback... Thanks..
  21. Geeze I got interested when they mentioned it was going to be for a PlayBoy cover shoot. Dang... disappointed again!! What's that thing runing for a motor...rubber bands? Maybe the sound is coming from an MP3 player??
  22. I still own five 1stGens. 1 runner, a '91, and 4 'kits'. Plus a '99 2ndGen. After 5 years of riding an '83, which is now gone, I still try to find the pegs when on the '99. Long distance 600 mile+ days on the '83 were comfortable and, but I'll probably ride the '99 to Cody.... Unless that I find after taking a few shorter trips that it isn't my cup of tea. Then I'd have no problem climbing aboard the '91 and hitting the slab, although I'd rather take it into the Sierras and carve corners....
  23. KBB retail value on a '99 is $5500 bucks. Probably 6000 because of the milage. How much is the trike kit worth used. $9000??? Probably more like $7000 in value. I'd think that $13000 would be more in line as an asking price.... I know a new trike costs a ton, but time marches on.....
  24. Ask you father in law what a V-Dub Beetle is.... and not interested in an air cooled. Thanks anyway. Leave those to the collectors. I had a '67 once.... There's plenty of New Beetle's within 25 miles of the house.
