We had a member from the Carson City/Reno area do his in Canary Yellow. I haven't seen anything from him in a while so he's probably moved on. I didn't find him listed in the member list either. Did a great job bringing an old girl back to life....

Overstock, discontinued, refurb. Who knows?? For the price with text to voice it's a nice entry level GPS. If it croaks... toss it. If you plan on using it for a guidence system on an ICBM I'd look elsewhere..... If you want one with a lot of features do a search on Ebay for the [ame=http://cgi.ebay.com/GARMIN-GPS-STREETPILOT-C550-MP3-BLUETOOTH-GPSMAP-NUVI-/330522582551?pt=GPS_Devices&hash=item4cf4ae5e17]Garmin c550[/ame]. Youi can buy them used fairly reasonable. Bluetooth, MP3, GPS all rolled into one. I own two of them. Great for hands free cell phone while driving in the car. Just look for one that's still in the box, unlocked, and unregistered.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. If you settle for the offending party's limits in essence what your saying is the policy limits are agreeable. If you do have under insured coverage this might negate it. If you've maxed out the guys coverage then the under insured will kick in from your policy. I think you'd still need to take the guy to court and let them put a total value of your loss. Once it's on record you can go after your insurance co to cough up the difference... I'm also surprised that a lawyer would turn down a possible deep pockets case. When the policy's out of coverage, you can go after the Bar for letting the guy get that drunk, the Sheriff for not doing his job... heck, the maker of the guy's truck because they didn't install a breatalizer.... You may not win anything but I bet you could get a lot of nuisance settlement offers....

I think that's a good thing in the case of the RSV's. Some members are relating that the rear brake is touchier than 'H', and a few have almost highsided because of it. It is an RSV problem. I think a little rear brake mushiness in the begining is a good thing. That's one of the big reasons Rick put his thinking cap on and came up with his solution. If your brake was mushy all the way through the squeeze... or stomp... you probably still had air in your lines. So like I said before as soon as the 'bling' gods stop picking on me I think I'll try one out on the '99. I'm going to need feedback a little more recent. Those links above are 4-5 years old and they might not be talking about the current TCB design??

So are you saying you couldn't lock up the rear no matter how hard you tried... like air in the lines???

Maybe they are, but since they... the site... seems to be after the Harley rider, we just haven't been aware of them. As soon as I heal from the latest bling buys I'll try one out and let you know.... OK, from those links posted above it looks like we have a few members already trying them out. Since I'm only lately involved with a 2ndGen I didn't pay any attention to the last threads. So what's the verdict? Anyone want to let us newB's in on the results???

If you're on ice, oil, or sand it doesn't make any difference what you have... you're gonna go down. I think the big difference is that the brakes, as Carl pointed out, are going to be spongy.... to a point. Unlike air in the lines where the 'feel' is soft throughout the intire application, with this system it gives a little at the begining and then hardens up. It may give you enough time to react and let off the brakes a bit after the initial OMG Romp. As far as improving brakes to the point that they're hard from the git-go, with stainless lines, HH pads, more efficient calipers etc, I think it's defeating the the finesse of braking. I think you can overdo braking. That said I may give one of these a try on the '99. With all the coments about the rear brake locking up I've been a little hesitant to really use the rear brake. My

Rick Butler also puts together a set up to reduce rear wheel lock up, but this idea seems so simple to install. I wonder if it delays the applied pressure no matter how much you stomp on the brakes like Rick's. I need more info... but very interesting....

Rick, take a deep breath.... It may very well be the method of shipping. Some large sellers use FEDEX, and it's usually around $7-8 bucks. Some of the smaller sellers will stick the smaller items in a flat rate priority box and charge $5 bucks. The guys that really will piss me off is the one that want's $75 bucks to ship an item that should only take $10-$15. I report them to Ebay if I have the time and am bored....

I knew about the trunk problem before buying the '99, and the P.O. said that he had the trunk replaced under warantee in '04. So I figured I was good to go. Then we got into another discussion about the Y plate mod. Went out and checked the trunk, and sure enough... no plates, and the trunk had started to spider around the bolts. Used an ABS welding product on the cracks and ordered the plates from Y. Not expensive. Now I know I'm good to go....

Neither F or C is metric... youse guys just can't figure out what's the temp when water freezes....... Metric is for folks who are limited to fingers...... and toes if they want to be sneaky......... :rotfl:

Yamaha may have to start changing their tune. In the past the internet wasn't as prevalent as it is now. Information is available in a nano-sec after it's released. Complaints and displeasure are also. They may actually have to start listening.... or stick with building guitars and amps.....

Sounded great to me.... I dabbled in Trumpet before I entered High School. Even played in the orchestra my freshman year. Then I discovered sports and never picked the horn up again until recently when I bought a Cornet in a garage sale. Found I could still play 'When the Saints'. My oldest girl played it for a while in middle school but I'm afraid she takes after me... hasn't touched the Cornet since turning a sophisticated 15....

I don't think Yamaha has produced an RSV in the last 4-5 years, and have been living off crated RSV's, just changing the color every year. Much the same as they did with the 1stGens. The last of the '93's being marketed in Europe as '94's. We then went into a 3 or 5 year draught, whichever way you want to look at it, with the RSV appearing in '99. I think with the present economy and potential sales being what they are, we're not going to see another cruising V4 appear for several years. Even though the new V-Max motor has been released I don't think it will be any time soon before we see something in a cruiser design if at all. The chances of seeing a sports tourer similar to the LT1600 will probably be more likely. My
