  1. Split personality. Chocolate/chocolate cake and Vanilla Ice Cream.
  2. Sounds like you have one of those cold weather O-rings. Look around, there should be some white residue on one of the conectiions. Put some cardboard under the scoot to get an idea of where it's coming from.
  3. It's on the inside between the #2 and #4 carbs.. Sorry 'bout that.
  4. Suprisingly the insurance was less than the Suburban with the same coverage. On the gas.... I don't see her driving it that much... back and forth to school etc..... if she does need fuel she'd better think about flippin' burgers at Micky D's....
  5. All of the above. I'm surprised that they didn't have the equipment...unless it was a friend??
  6. I think I read somewhere... maybe it was from Goose... that syncing the carbs is for low end performance, and once the butterflies were open it didn't make a lot of difference on the sync..as long as they were close.. That's why they are synced at idle, and easier to sync at higher RPM's. Syncing at idle will give better performance when starting off in 1st. So buy the tach. Or.... you can always buy a 1stGen just to know what 1000rpm sounds like....
  7. The emissions connection will not work as a vacuum port for the '83 TCI. The port is designed to recover fumes from the manifold. The '83 #2 has a bib connecting above the butterfly for venturi vacuum. It's located on the #4 side.
  8. The reserve is manual under the left side of the tank. Once you know where it is it can be switched on the fly. The count up lasts between 10-20 miles depending on driving habits. I usually start to gradually loose power before having to switch....
  9. Don't we have a Voyager Kit Trike in our classifieds?? Might even be a better option than a side car.... And... you can keep the Bushtec...
  10. We've already raised 6 kids, 4 girls and 2 boys. The oldest daughter just turned 50, and the wife is leaving Friday for the weekend to attend our 22 y.o. grand daughter's bridal shower... I had more trouble with the boys... guess they took after me.... Our last two girls, 16 and 13, are our grandkids... which makes 8 total, and we have the pink slip on 'm. (Long story I don't need to get into here.) What really ticks me off is I don't think I can get into the GT. I have a Ford F250 body. Otherwise I'd be the one to worry about.....
  11. Actually compared to a lot of later models it's a mouse. It had it's day, but those days are long gone. As far as letting a 16 y.o. drive one, it all depends on the kid. This one's pretty level headed, with a ton of common sense...
  12. Yeah... Mama's already nick named it 'LEVERAGE'...
  13. Nope.... it's a '94... Man I thought I'd get a couple of days out of this thread, but you guys are way too good. Been looking around for a car for my daughter...16 tomorrow... I know..I know I'm not old enough to have a 16 Y.O.... Anyway left to go preview a couple of cars in an estate auction, and on the way back this thing was sticking out in the driveway of a neighbor with a for sale sign on it. It's like new with 75000 original miles on it. 5.0 HO/Automatic/Loaded. I told her she's not getting the new computor for her birthday... She said OK...
  14. Here's a few pics that I had time to take.....
  15. Driving down the street and passed another toy. Took all of 30 minutes to check it out, and now it's in the stable.....
  16. The desire's there... the time ain't.....
  17. Been thru there many times. Beautiful in the summer months....
  18. I bet if they took the new 1700cc V4, made it a 2400cc FI V6, and put it in a Strat or Sport Tourer, they'd raise a few eye brows. It would certainly take the wind out of the sails of the new Beamer 6, and Triumph 2300 Triple. I'd be swayed to seriously look at buying a big torquey V6 in a Stato-Liner with a trunk.
  19. Too bad I'm so far away or I'd be there. I've wanted to view and photograph a launch ever since they started the shuttle program. Just one of those things in the 'bucket' that will never happen.
  20. Well when I started this thread I planned on buying a pretty good quantity of gold. I got right down to the point where I was to put the money in my dealers account, and at the last minute I got a gut feeling and didn't do it. I think a big dose of common sense kicked in. My thinking is the dollar in the last 10 years had lost 25% of it's buying power while gold had gone up 400% in selling price. Notice I said selling price, not value, because it's only worth what someone will pay for it. I believe it's a bloated value and will eventually start to decline. Especially when no one can afford to buy it. A room full of gold is not going to help when the pantry is empty. You can't eat it, and I don't remember ever buying a tank of gas with gold. The world is still running on the dollar as the international exchange. I really don't believe we will get into a run away inflation. We probably will have a short term rise, but when sales start to fall off because no one can afford to buy the item, prices will start to deflat. I think I'll go buy dirt in Montana and Wyoming....

Yeah, but I bet you have the energy to clean them anyway..... When I quit I washed all the windows, mowed the lawns, washed the cars..... in the first 2 hours....
  22. The key is there was money made on the original sale. Now if all the pawn shops decided to go into the lending business or sell copies it would probably raise a flag. Not all copyright infractions are deemed defendable. It all depends on what it would cost versus what would be gained.

Hang in there Bull. Best things you'll ever do. Just stay mad at the thought of lighting up and it's half the battle. Things get a whole lot better after about month. BTW I think all your windows in the house need cleaning.....
  24. It was individuals sharing music. No matter what you what to call it, it still stifled sales of copyrighted creations. Usually when a piece of art is sold it grants first rights to the purchaser. Those rights can be given away by the purchaser, but not loaned to circumvent subsequent purchases, unless... the creater grants the lender that right. Ask yourself this. If I were in the business and had written a book that I depended on for income to support my business, how would I feel if someone started passing around his copy so that others wouldn't have to buy it. Better yet, why not contact the MSF and explain what we're doing and ask if it's OK.
  25. NAPSTER originally was set up for people to share music. Looked what happened to them.. I personally think that it all depends on intent. If the item is circulated to relieve the burden of purchase, then it's a no-no. If it's given away, it's OK. So the question is, are the tapes being circulated so that members will not have to buy them? I think the existence of the list, and the retention of tape ownership, makes it a legal no-no. If they were given away randomly as a gift then there is no intent to defraud. So perhaps my idea was in error, and even though the intentions were good, the list may also not be the best thing to do. That said, I don't think there will be a problem with status quo of this effort. Napster was big....and we're very small.....
