  1. With all this talk about amp consumption of the lighting you'all might consider the tape deck. For those that still like to listen to cassettes the tape deck eats amps like a horse eating oats. If you don't have a batt with a bunch of CCa's in reserve, you'll be jump starting your bike after a couple of days. The stator can not keep up.... I doubt even with all LED lighting.....
  2. Wow!! Just checked the member list to find an old member, and it looks like someone has done some house cleaning?? Not nearly as many members as I remember..... Or am I halucinating again??
  3. I mentioned that when making reservations, and they almost did take them.... Had to ply them with a 6-pak of Coors.....

Interesting... The service manual for my California '99RSV just says regular. Not even an octane rating..???
  5. I bet Freebird can chime in here with some good advice.....
  6. Can someone tell us what size flags we already have?? Already been looking Annie..... OZ FLAG
  7. I don't think I'd take the chance...it's not worth it... Especially when taking a long trip. Turn down tips will force the exhaust under the trailer. Those fins have a tendency to exit right into the face of the trailer, and the vortex will bring them back into the riding bubble behind the windshield. If you find yourself feeling sleepy or disoriented it's time to pull over...
  8. The bug doesn't read amps like a gas guage reads gallons, but Volts. It probably has a default voltage set or assumes that the battery is at 100% the first time it's hooked up.
  9. Actually the speed bleeders will solve the trapped air problem Bob. With the Speed's you can pump fluid through the line faster than the air bubble will rise. And... they are available directly from Speed Bleeder, and I've found they are cheaper going direct. Nice folks to deal with.
  10. Reiny's off the hook. There wasn't a banner at Kitchner. The pic is of a Rally in '08. Now I'm wondering if there was one at the Hub.... or Potato Creek?? Maybe the banner doesn't exist??? I remember signing one at Venture West III in Susanville, but I think that one went to Don....
  11. Where was this was taken?????
  12. Whacha mean by that???
  13. Could you check with him to see if he still has them or if not where he sent them?? I tried to find his contact info, but finally gave up. Edit: I just sent him an Email....
  14. One of our members has a Tow Pak for sale in the classifieds for a while now.
  15. I picked up a set from Bike Bandit when they were closing them out in '06. Wished I'd bought them all. Anyway I just went out and looked at the box and they came from Show Chrome.
  16. Yep, T-Ball...was a ball...
  17. So Squid.... Who'd ya send the banner/flags to in Kitchner???
  18. My bad... Was thinking side covers.... But.... because of the different head light assemblies you still may need to stick with a MKII fairing.
  19. Can't speak for Kitchner or the HUB, but the last time I saw it was at Ft Collins....
  20. Pick up some SeaFoam 'Deep Creep' and spray all the carb linkage and lube the cable. Work the lever back and forth will lubing. Should loosen it up.
  21. We're trying to locate the National Rally Banner for Cody. The Skyline Motor Inn wants to display it out front during the rally..... Who has it?? :cody
  22. MKI's (83-84) might fit except for the very early '83's. The 85's will probably fit, but anything from 86 and later will work fine....
  23. Pressure wash that sucker....
  24. With the ride leader downing that many drinks, I'd have decided to ride solo, and invite anyone else who wants to join in to come along. Two wheels and alcohol don't mix.
  25. The pump has the same part number as first generations, so it's probably safe to assume they are same for all Ventures. Don't know about a V-Star. My favorite saying 'You never know unless you ask'....
