  1. A lot of truckers run bi-linears to boost signal... RX.. and transmit a stronger TX. The squelch is there to eliminate background 'earth' noise. Getting rid of the truck chatter by turning the squelch up will not help when trying to communicate up and down the highway any distance. CB is line of sight transmission to the horizon. Buildings, mountains, a truck in front of you will kill your signal. Take you CB to a 'quite' place and turn it up till the background disappears and add one more. That's where you need to leave it. I know it's a PITA when trying to listen to the audio, but you need to do one or the other. If you wnat to do both do exactely what you are doing, but don't expect any response to your radio checks. They can hear you, but you won't be able to hear them. On a group ride turn it all the way up to just listen to the group. Sounds like your radio is working fine....
  2. Yeah, but you're young..er.... and employed. Beside's I'd have to do both. You only need to travel to one.... so lemme see. Me.. 2400 + 2400=4800. plus 1100 +1100= 2200. Total 7,000 miles. You.. 0+0=0 plus 1620 + 1620=3240. Total 3240 However my old age logic is kinda 'fuzzy'....
  3. Oh yes you can....
  4. Hmmmm?? 2400 miles = 4X600 mile days to get there, plus another 4X600 mile days to get back, plus $500 bucks in fuel. For 3 days to BS and eat free ice cream?? If I were closer I'd be there, however I think I'll really 'Cowboy Up' and go to the CODY Dairy Queen.....
  5. Actually contents falls under you homeowners or renters policy.
  6. You might very well have a pluged Compensator (??) valve on the back side of the master. With the rear brake not working and front OK you weren't missing much in braking power. Get in there and crack the banjo at the valve to see if fluid is coming out of the valve. If none, it's plugged.
  7. Dang!! Don't feel alone Rick. I didn't know about it either. If I wanted to do a multi I'd open the reply in another tab and then copy and paste.
  8. And I still live there.... Hadda Wadda burger once. Zzzzz!!... Use to grab burgers at the original drive thru in El Monte back in high school, and #2 out in Azusa when going to JC, and I think it's still there. Two rows of cars would be lined up 10 deep all day long. They didn't have tables.
  9. If the washer came with several different nozzles it may take a different type for the solution pick-up to work.... Ask Delta Rat about that....
  10. With all the talk about a 'Chilli Challenge', I think the group of 'Cabineers' should plan a chilli cook off for Monday evening, and invite all the 'Skyliners' to be judges.....
  11. Leave it be Gary.... Go ride....
  12. Sure. Just remove the ignition cover and loosen the nuts. Then lift the riser and rotated where ever you want. There is also some adjustment of the grips by loosening the nut at the top of the riser. There's a write up on the progressive install in the tech section. You should have run across this when investigating the Progressive Springs. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=505
  13. Here's a pic of the cabins from Cody'09. Lots of BS happening from what I hear.... :cody
  14. I really like that....... Enjoy the ride!!......
  15. That link is for the Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V charger. You didn't mention that in your first post... The one you mentioned was the Jr., and at .75 amps you'd better pack a lunch..
  16. A battery tender will not charge a battery.... period.. If your battery has been getting progressively worse then you need to check the charging circut to make sure it's putting out around 14.2 vdc. If it isn't it could be the stator or the rectifier. If it is putting out it's time to replace the batt.
  17. I guesss if they can call the BMW K1200LT a sports tourer, the shoe fits....
  18. Double check your plug wire leads and firing order You may have crossed a couple at the coil end.

  20. Been a PGR supporter for a number of years now, and get all the notices. Can't do a ride because I become a blubbering mess at funerals.... God bless those who can do this and can still function....

  22. Here's some good information on Lolo Pass... http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/RockyMtn/ID/ID_3.shtml
  23. Used the stuff in my '83. Ran to Ft Collins in 100+ temps and the motor ran right under redline. Bought some wetter from the local Napa Dealer down from the Moose Lodge and on the way back it ran 3-4 needle widths under redline, and the temps were even hotter on the way home. I now use it everytime I flush the systems. A little bit of this is supposed to go a long way. Probably a couple of ozs. in the radiator, and a blurp in the overflow. I'm sold on it.
  24. Don't forget the T-Shirts. They are only going to be available to those who pre-register. Although, I think Dave will be bringing a few extra but if you want them in your size and color you need to get your order in. Otherwise you take your chances... I might also mention that trailer raffle ticket sales are on going until the 300 tickets are sold. The best way to make sure you're in on the action is buy them before 7/1. Over half the tickets have been sold, and there's still 80+ days left til the rally.
